This game is a great reminder to take time to enjoy your life and the people around you. I didn’t play tennis in high school, but I found the characters and story to be very relatable. I was also able to finish the game in one playthrough which was refreshing since I have limited time to game. I hope to see more games that provide stories from a unique perspective. And it’s FREE!!! Thanks Gersh Games LLC!

Lofi Ping Pong

Lofi Ping Pong

Lo-Fi Ping Pong is a rythmic game, where you listening Lo-Fi music and beat your oppenent at the end of the song.

What really good in Lo-Fi Ping Pong, is the controls. It’s easy. You need 3 keys, which can be WAD, the arrow keys or using controller direction keys. Because of these choices, playing together in splitscreen is also easy, because you could play in one keyboard too. Simple and sweet!

Another thing which surprising good, is the story. Now, if you play the game, you won’t notice too much… except at the end, but the game has some more meaning symbols in the game, messages can tell also a lot about what is happening. It was quite a twist for me at the end, left me with a void for sure, even though it’s not an indepth something, it was still quite an impact.

Since I do enjoy listening to lo-fi, this title caught my attention, so I decided to purchase during the Steam Sale just to see what it was all about.

Well then, you take control of this girl and you play against other players wearing animal masks, something that immediately made me think about Hotline Miami (just checked the developer, and even though it has nothing to do with Dennaton, I’m pretty sure that they’ve got some influence out of it). i’m not really sure if there’s a story or not, but overall, the girl is dealing with some problems and playing ping-pong, while listening to some sick beats seems to be helping her somehow.

Yeah, it’s just Pong for the new millennium.

I’ve played half an hour, and so far, apart from the fireball pickup, and ability to move your paddle in all directions, it’s still just Pong.

The tables can be unique though - obstacles that the ball ricochets off, or stops the fireball from going through, and your opponents' paddles vary in size and stability giving some sort of variation there.

I guess if I play longer, I’ll get more upgrades and diversity, but after 25 matches, it’s already becoming repetitive. I would say based on the achievements that this is gonna be a super-grindy game. They talk about all these cool features, but like I said, 25 matches and basically nothing… I apprehensively don’t recommend. If it changes dramatically after playing longer, then I might change my opinion.

alright, at this point I’ve got just over 5 hours into this game, and about half the steam achievements, and just performed my first hypergalactic loop.

this game is more than worth the price, at first it may seem simple, much like the Pong it is based on, but the skills and dialogue really make it unique compared to similar titles, and there is plenty there for replayability, I’m not just saying that because I’m in the game either, I have enjoyed every moment of it so far, and I will be spending my free time collecting the achievements.
