Limiter!

Limiter!

This is a very good puzzler with a great OST .

Sadly this one goes in the buried gems category, it is always sad to see a quality game like this not getting more attention.

The game has some very smartly designed and tricky levels, more then enough content, most of the game is medium difficulty but there are harder levels and for me they are a highlight of this game.

This game is pure quality in every aspect and worth every cent.

The movement is intuitive enough for you to work backwards - so you can get ideas as to what needs to be done without the entire puzzle being spoiled. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a ~10 hour ish puzzle game.

Alien Escape

Very good puzzle platformer, fun to play and puzzles will give you a decent challenge.

Wish there were more levels and some harder levels too because some mechanics are really good and could be used to make more challenging levels.

All in all a solid puzzle platformer and worth the asking price

I have enjoyed playing this game. Got 6 hours from 60 puzzles. Currently stuck on the (final??) one with the fir balls witch. The graphics and interface are very basic but the gameplay is satisfyingly addictive to keep going puzzle after puzzle. Well done devs for a cleverly simple game.

Blockicker

Blockkicker is amazing, charming and have great puzzle design!

They are made in a way where you can you always can figure out the solution after a few tries.

The soundtrack are cozy and cherful, but way too short for this kind of game, Be prepared to hear the same loop over and over again.

The mechanics are added in a wonderful pace and keep the puzzles interesting and fresh.

The game is for sure more than a iteration from goofy troop puzzles, buy it

If you fancy some spelunking to go along with your spatial organization puzzles, you can’t go wrong with Blockicker. When an inquisitive young fellow inadvertently finds himself trapped in a mysterious subterranean complex, he’s forced to correctly align scores of curiously shaped blocks in order to open locked doors so that he can once again relish the wonder of natural light. This burly boy doesn’t believe in getting his hands dirty and he’s certainly not afraid of stubbing the toes on his right foot, for with a series of swift kicks, he’s able to send the heavy blocks careening towards their proper destinations. Certain puzzles must be solved in order to proceed down the pathway to freedom, but many of them can be tackled at a later time. Players will need to be methodical, but none of the puzzles are too rigorous. The music loops quickly, but it’s still very pleasant and nicely compliments the SNES-esque visuals.

Good game, early access, so it is a bit rough. I like to get in and just make things happen, so anything that slows that down is a bit of a bummer. The tutorial level didn’t work for me, so I just jumped straight into the game.

It took me a bit to find the “delete tile” key. I found it on accident as I was trying to use “r” as the rotate key, but nope, it’s delete. Honestly though, after playing the game a bit, I liked the control scheme. I only used “e” to rotate though. Sorry “q”.

Some current bugs as of the first of April 2020. Don’t assume these still exist:

Good:

The puzzle design is pretty clever. Tricky without needing to look up a walkthrough.

The soundtrack is excellent (If you like chiptune/8-bit).

Fun, engaging, bite-size gameplay. Sometimes I played for a couple hours, sometimes five minutes. Both were satisfying.

Bad:

Movement. OMFG. In most cases, when solving a puzzle is the main objective of a level, the movement is fine. But the level design of the platforming sections really requires Mega Man level tightness and it’s just not there. You’ll slip and slide off of blocks, end up stuck on the corner of a block unable to do anything but fall to your death, etc. It’s way more frustrating than the straight up puzzles.

Yes, but there’s some just not fun parts…and you’ll probably have to check the online guide.

A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES OF WHAT’S NOT FUN:

  • The Moon Phase level - Total GARBAGE with nothing to base it on…

! and “5” is a full moon while “1” is no moon on a scale from zero to ten?!? That’s not even good math!

  • The website level FORCES you to load their website? I certainly hope they keep the registration for it so no one puts a malicious website there one day. To save you the risk:

Well, the fact that I have more than ten hours of gameplay might scare some people. But relax, it’s completely optional, but you’ll have a long journey if you want to have all the acheviements. The game itself gives you the option to “facilitate”

• The story is simple. But extremely good. So if you don’t want to have all the achievements, the story will entertain you anyway (you won’t regret playing)

• The settings are perfect, and basically, the graphics will make you “happy”. It’s something that brings harmony to the eyes, even being something simple

Depending on what you’re looking for in this prologue, it could be very short, and it could also be frustratingly long.

My first run playing through this game took me 25 minutes. I focused on the story and primarily made the necessary coding changes to proceed through the game. I also unlocked 3 of the achievements then.

I spent a little over 3 hours stuck in the secret area until I finally decided to relent and check the Discord server to find out that I had to close the game to get out of there. I spent around 7 minutes beating the UwU/OwO game fairly and between 5 to 8 minutes for the P/\DDLE game. I spent the rest of the time unlocking the other achievements and looking for the 1D codes.

I am loving this game! Doing layers of color and having a reveal at the end is very satisfying. The multiple shades on a layer makes it more challenging and interesting, and everything works really smoothly.

I have two recommendations. One has already been stated and it seems like you are already working on, the font. It’s needs more clarity. The other is while working in game, thicker borders on the color selector blocks on the right side would be helpful and make things a bit more obvious. I got used to it playing for a bit, but in the beginning it wasn’t very intuitive. (I was squinting for it in the tutorial.)

As you can see from my ridiculous amount of hours on this game, I really enjoyed it! This is the only game I’ve ever bothered to get every achievement from on steam, and the first I’m going to review because I think it deserves praise.

It is a nonogram game, with the twist of having colors on different layers, in addition to each layer having its own light and dark variation of those colors. This allows for more interesting puzzles than usual, and is really a shakeup for your average nonogram formula. Not only are the images more rewarding in the end (and some of the images themselves were really creative ideas, I love skateboard vampire), because you feel like each layer actually contributed to the image as opposed to it just coloring itself, the dark/light color mechanic gives you slightly different clues than usual nonograms. You can’t rely on straight numbers, but in a good way? It’s hard to describe, but this is by far my favorite nonogram game because of that. The controls are really smooth (I actually really like the alternate mouse control, give it a shot) and I didn’t have any problems with the game itself. The puzzles can be really challenging, but being able to switch layers always gave me a kind of break from whatever I was stuck on, so by the time I came back I immediately saw something I missed initially. I have bounced off of most nonogram games because I got bored by them eventually, but this one got me right to the end.

Loot Slider

Loot Slider

70 levels of limited moves. It’s a slide to obstacle with a twist you have to use cannons to move the pieces. You also have to line up all your moves in advance so in one move* you can tell if you are successful or not or see how many stars you have. Stars are 99% for using less moves/cannons although with some it’s for using certain pieces. Nothing is related to time.

This is a hard review for me to do, as in the beginning the cannons which you have to use to move your pieces drove me utterly bonkers. I nearly gave up due to their fiddly placement. Instead of using right click to turn the cannons you have to hover over them to get a yellow arrow then click to orientate them. This is beyond annoying implementation of this game’s game mechanics. But with the following discovery I got used to them and you move them less.

“Yo, wassup. Just came out of a session of S.U.M. and it was toootally tubular. Think ya know math? Think again bro. Yo momma don’t even know how to multiply with 3 variables. Me? 4 variables, 4 operators, no sweat, sweet cash in return. See ya past the last dungeon, loser”

I can just imagine this unironically being a future banner for the game (unless it already is).

Jokes aside, there is definitely an engagement aspect under its pixelated aesthetics and the playability that made me come back again and again just to do what essentially are basic math operations. There’s more to the gameplay though with the whole grid aspect. Despite much of it being behind paid DLC, there’s still plenty to do in the meantime until it starts feeling repetitive.
