Pretty fun little puzzle type game here…it’s tough but fair, although I prefer the side scrolling platforming of the first game. Wish it had more achievements but not gonna complain.

Cardful Planning

A fun puzzle game with a dash of metroidvania. It might not be the longest game ever made but it sure is fun. A speed run and least deaths mode also add to the replay value if you want to challenge yourself or others buy topping the leaderboards.

Enjoy your puzzle platformers, check out Cardful Planning! Feels like it’s missing some culmination levels at the end but the dev’s looking into adding those. In the meantime, there’s already 50+ challenging levels and three game modes to get the most out of them.

Cardful Planning is an exciting little puzzle platformer that features four key abilities, 50+ levels, and three game modes that really add to replayability. Challenging and cleverly designed

If I could I would give this game a neutral rating because the dev promised “over a dozen sidequests” and " 2-3 hours in length" for “$1.99” and that’s what you get.

But It still feels more like a homework for a gamedesign-class than a serious release. In the beginning you have to learn how to survive grinding, how to use the karma-system wisely and then, from one moment to another the game is over, the story finished and… youp. My Level 8-deer was already way overpowered. o_O

What’s also bothering me is that the Gui is designed for a party, but (afaik) you remain alone. Having to chose when you’re alone is… strange. And don’t get me startet on the classic RPGmaker-disease “We use 16 bit sprites & tiles but highres-fonts and drawings and everything else.” @_@

A good game for the price ($2). Very short. But quite fun. The developer listened to me and responded right away when I found a bug (creating the vine bridge to human village). If this developer put more effort into extending the game I could easily see it progressing further and further, but I can see why he would just choose to make a small offering and charge a small price, to see what the interest/profitability of game creation might be out there. I hope this developer continues to make games and I would be interested in another one or a longer one from him.

It is pretty good, if you are unsure, get it on sale, give it a refund if you don’t like it but i think it is a pretty neat game

Time management crossed with puzzle - Making sure plants get enough sunlight and water within constraints of a moving day schedule, with reflective mirrors. Stressful… I don’t have a green thumb.

Love Colors: Paint with Friends

Love Colors: Paint with Friends

a delightful relaxing game. the kids love it, simple concept, a bit rough around the edges, being able to pick your own colour in coop would be a nice feature, as it can get competitive fighting over the same colour. but well worth the tiny outlay.

Positives

+I like the little particles effect when painting a tile n_n

+The little heart containers displaying the remaining color to do are cute.

+I like the UI. It is crispy, and the color choice is soothing (light blue and white).

+The tabs make it easy to understand and continue in progress images.

+I like that the next color is automatically selected when the current one is finished.

+I like the confetti and the encouraging word with changing color after an image is finished.

+The fade in of the tiles when zooming out is cool! You can play with the numbers or only directly with the color without the layout and numbers!

Mission in Snowdriftland - Snowlogue

Mission in Snowdriftland - Snowlogue

These are the first 3 levels of the remake of the online advent calendar platformer game from 2006, when I was a kid! I feel beamed back to my childhood…

It plays fantastic and the controls are not slippery, but right on spot - since you are playing a snowman in a icy environment. It plays smooth and easy, but still it’s challenging and reminds a lot of classic games. Which is quite logic, since Mission in Snowdriftland was and is meant as a tribute to the classic Super Mario platformer games.

I remember when the Wii was released and dropped this online promotion. I was constantly playing it around November of 2006? It was so different from the flash games that I played at the time, the stages were short and sweet, hidden hearts, snow flake coins?, and was well polished. Playing this game again made me feel real nostalgic. The Dev team really knew how to make a platformer. I wish they would add secrets or something to collect for rewards, for example, the Star Coins in New Super Mario Bros series but all in all, it’s a good game, has it’s own identity but with a Mario like charm. Good game, would recommend.

Mission in Snowdriftland

an extraordinary platforming game, with beautiful visuals, impressive sound design, and unique level design. i cannot recommend this game enough. speedrunning this game is extremely plausible, as there is a built in timer, which allows for enjoyable replayability.

mission in snowdriftland can be played as either an advent calendar, in which a single level that corresponds to each date of december is played each day, or as a regular platformer, where you are free to play the game at your own pace. although the game can be beaten without acquiring the snowflakes from each level, it is preferable to collect all the snowflakes, to allow you to unlock a bonus level, and help with pacing.

I only have a few things to say about this game:

1. I found this game from a YouTuber (Nick Robinson) whom made a video over this game’s history.

2. The controls are unlike any platformer I’ve tried so getting all collectibles in first few levels was challenging but fun.

3. I am gamer and I have an Ultrawide 2560x1080 res, 2.37:1 aspect ratio. Game doesn’t have option for this size screen :(

4. Tried the game on 4:3 & 16:9 aspect ratios. Widescreen is best as it actually fills up the screen & 4:3 has vertical bars.

Ravva and the Cyclops Curse

Ravva and the Cyclops Curse

I’m pretty surprised by the potential with this game. It’s pretty short, say an hour for a run if you take your time? But it’s got a bit of replayability to it if you’re going for the achievements or a high score. Once you’ve learnt the game (And you’re going to have to because it’s a pretty tough game until you learn patterns and timings.) the way you play is quite different.

Your first time, you’ll be best served taking your time to scan for secrets with the yellow eye shot and nabbing powerups and spare lives while you progress through the levels. The time limit is generous to the point where it’s rare you’ll hit double digits even combing each level for hidden things so there is no rush except for the sake of points.

! Speaking of which you’ll need 500,000+ of them by the end of the last level if you want to be able to find the secret ending.

Played the game through on Normal Mode on stream and beat it. Here’s my thoughts.

First off, props for the pre-game menu. Being able to set your screen size, VSynch and controls from the start help. I recommend VSynch btw for this game. The game is well-designed: graphics are as expected, gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the game captures well in OBS (for those of you looking to make content for the game).

The tutorial is actual kind of fun, it gives you the information you need without dragging out the time. The acutal game has the appropriate amount of difficulty curve, you won’t feel overwhelmed at the amount of enemies or the timing of the traps. A high amount of secets will let scroungers have their fun, but the game is also perfectly paced for the speedrunner.
