Fantastic experience. Great gameplay combined with awe-inspiring voice acting and minimalistic graphics clash together in this magnum opis of a game. On the outside TAD appears to be your ordinary AAA gaming experience, but upon closer inspection the game can be compared to a regular “Clockwork Orange” or “Gone with the Wind” in terms of sheer storytelling and eye candy. TAD: That Alien Dude defines what it means to be a gamer, games like this are what keep me from abandoning the gaming community entirely. The lack of tutorials give the gamer a more cut-throght experience, similar to cup-bread or dark shoals. Minimalistic graphics allow the gamer to focus more upon the machanics then the graphics

Very good puzzle platformer, fun to play and puzzles will give you a decent challenge.

Wish there were more levels and some harder levels too because some mechanics are really good and could be used to make more challenging levels.

All in all a solid puzzle platformer and worth the asking price

I have enjoyed playing this game. Got 6 hours from 60 puzzles. Currently stuck on the (final??) one with the fir balls witch. The graphics and interface are very basic but the gameplay is satisfyingly addictive to keep going puzzle after puzzle. Well done devs for a cleverly simple game.

Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard

Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard

Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard is an old-school point & click adventure game that is reminiscent of the animated movies and Saturday morning cartoons of decades gone by. While it is obviously inspired by the LucasArts and Sierra classics, it also strives to create its own style and identity by returning to the original “adventure” aspect of the genre. Aside from solving the obligatory inventory-based puzzles, this means a heavy focus on exploring mysterious lands, uncovering secrets and dealing with all kinds of dangers.

Strange things are happening in the animal kingdom of Velehill. Unknown shadows of large appearance are seen roaming through the forests and making the ground shake with every step of their steel feet. Houses and trees are destroyed and one animal after the other seems to disappear mysteriously.

Finn, a young roebuck, soon finds out about the disappearance of his family as well. Without hesitation, he goes on a journey to find them, not knowing he and his new friend Gwen the owl will soon uncover a dark secret that should have been kept hidden for all eternity…

  • An immersive story told through hand-drawn landscapes and countless animations!

  • A return to the “adventure” aspect of the genre – a big focus on exploring whimsical places, uncovering secrets, and dealing with tense and dangerous situations

  • Cinematic cutscenes, reminiscent of hand-drawn animated movies, mixed with a pixel art aesthetic

  • Atmospheric soundtrack, inspired by the old midi classics everyone knows and loves

  • 6-8 hours of gameplay

Mercury Abbey

Mercury Abbey

【1】Retro pixel style with impressive lighting and shading

The game uses pixel sprites, with characters drawn in a classic American comicbook style. Fossil halls, greenhouses, hedge mazes, botanical gardens, underground cave systems…scenes appear one after another, presenting a visual feast. Unique lighting and shading technology creates an engaging atmosphere and a wonderfully immersive experience.

【2】 Classic cultural elements meet a unique worldview

The game embraces the spirit of early suspense novels, interspersing classic cultural elements throughout the story. Adopting an overhead world view, the world is composed of anthropomorphic animal (furry) characters; the social structures, folklore, and ethnic relations of this world are all waiting to be discovered by players!

【3】Engaging story

Strange things seem to happening one after another at the mysterious mountain sanitarium, and the curse of the alchemist family is spreading. Legends, midnight societies and ghostly patrons are just a few of the curiosities to be investigated, but maybe the mystery runs deeper than once thought. Gather clues and delve into the mystery to discover exactly where this story will go…

【4】 Lots of items and achievements to collect

Discover a large number of collectable elements along the way, including character information, folklore, objects, copied notes, photos, and even intercepted gossip. The game also features a variety of achievements, with certain choices and actions unlocking them. Fortune favors the bold.

Fun little game. I like the fact that it has a checkpoint system to let you enjoy the game yet only losing your score that way you can experience the game and then get better and your own pace! Could definitely see the Parodius inspirations!

I happened to receive this game for free during a key giveaway during Shmup Slam 4 which you should check out if you haven’t. This game is an incredibly well made shmup. It is 7 stages long and each one is actually designed quite well. It gives off huge Parodius vibes which is also awesome. All in all, if I hadn’t received the game for free I definitely would’ve bought it especially for 6 bucks US. If you enjoy shmups at all definitely give this game a shot. I can’t recommend it enough.
