It’s a fun game where you play as a scientist and search for patterns in radio waves. When you decipher the patterns you learn how to send messages back to the aliens.

I really liked the language images the aliens use for communicating. u need to decide which word is correct for every image.

So far, the story is amazing! very unique and fun, u get to meet intresting aliens :)

I learned a lot about radio siganl and astronomy, Some of the puzzles are very hard.

Recommended 9/10

Fantastic experience. Great gameplay combined with awe-inspiring voice acting and minimalistic graphics clash together in this magnum opis of a game. On the outside TAD appears to be your ordinary AAA gaming experience, but upon closer inspection the game can be compared to a regular “Clockwork Orange” or “Gone with the Wind” in terms of sheer storytelling and eye candy. TAD: That Alien Dude defines what it means to be a gamer, games like this are what keep me from abandoning the gaming community entirely. The lack of tutorials give the gamer a more cut-throght experience, similar to cup-bread or dark shoals. Minimalistic graphics allow the gamer to focus more upon the machanics then the graphics

Woo eeh! That hydra mini game is hard but in the way that makes you wanna keep going until you’ve smashed your monitor.

If you’re in for a challenge the single will give it to you in spades, with a thumping techno soundtrack to get you pumped for each attempt.

Versus mode is a fast and wild, reflecting a shot into your opponents face and having them try to block only to realise it’s an unblockable bullet and gasp in horror as their little alien explodes into dust, is something to experience.

Great game, would buy again! (y)

Xeno Crisis

Xeno Crisis

A great game, that is held back by very few (but very noticeable) flaws.

PROS:

  • Wonderful pixelated visuals created by an industries veteran.

  • Sega Genesis style soundtrack, that will blow you away.

  • Shooting monsters is super fun.

  • Hard as hell. Aspecially for slowpokes such as myself.

CONS:

  • Enemy projectiles are too tiny and sometimes get lost in all the clutter. Nothing too scary, but still…

  • Enemy behavior differs from the original genesis version a little bit too much. Sandworms on level 3 shoot you immediately after they unearth, while in the genesis version there is a slight delay that allows you to deal with them before they will be able to shoot. The same goes for the toxic bomb launching things. Not sure if its a bug or a feature.

Very pleased Kickstarter backer! Absolutely worth the wait.

Xeno Crisis is a top down, twin stick shooter, similar to Smash TV. If you’re a big fan of Smash TV and looking for that old school difficulty in games, Xeno Crisis has you covered.

The graphics and animations are stylish and fit the alien theme. The music is arguably some of the best tunes composed under SEGA Genesis hardware. And the gameplay, while challenging, is lots of fun and easy to jump into.

One complaint I have is that the melee attack range is too short for comfort. I found myself getting hit almost every time I tried to do melee attacks. Only really useful on the slower, non-projectile enemies.

Abduction Bit

Abduction Bit

I like this game because it has a very simple 80s platform style. It reminded me of an 80s platformer called Hunky Egg (which apparently was a rip off of Chunky Egg). It’s basic gaming before games were simulations. It’s certainly not near the best of it’s genre. But it’s fun and annoying with it’s demands for precision in your jumps. Well gamers under 35 want to play such a game? I’m not sure. Actually I’m not sure how many over 35 would want to play such a game

One reviewer said it’s buggy. It’s more a case of every jump has to be perfect down to the milimetre while timing baddies perfectly, which is very frustrating. You die very easily in this game. I had to forget playing the game at any type of pace because of this if I wanted to progress. Like 80s games once you’re out of lives you start again at the very beggining. Which is also annoying. Because I probably will never finish it.

This is great little gem for fans of the golden age of arcade games. Particularly those early Nintendo releases(Donkey Kong, Popeye, Mario Bros.), as this is heavily modeled after those games. You can expect simple gameplay, high difficulty, and a surprisingly large amount of replayability. There are two packs(8-bit and 16-bit) with 20 levels each, which can be played on one of 3 difficulties. I’ve finished both packs on each difficulty, which took me about a month to get all the achievements(granted, I was juggling 3 other games at the same time). It’ll keep you busy for longer than you would expect.

Spacejacked

Spacejacked

Short Version: Fast paced tower defense plus 2D run’n’gun that pushes all the right buttons. Awesome retro simplicity in gameplay (run, jump, shoot, build one of three towers) with plenty of modern features (upgrades and extra challenges galore) along with an intentionally silly story make this game utterly scrumptious.

You know those crazy dreams where a bunch of random pieces from your life / movies / video games get smushed together in a ridiculous fashion that somehow make a weird kind of perfect sense? Well, imagine a dream where Megaman lost his job and decided to instead pursue his secret wish of becoming a spaceship handyman, only to be sucked into an 80’s sci-fi movie plot where aliens were invading the ship and only his newfound turret-building skills and rusty blasting action could save the day. This is Spacejacked in a nutshell, and it is glorious.

When I first saw this game, I thought it would barely have enough content to keep me entertained for a couple of hours. Well, I’m glad I was proved wrong.

How can I even start to describe this game? “A super fast-paced arcade tower-defence” it’s a good start but it doesn’t cut it.

This game makes most tower-defence look easy by comparison:

  • You have to manage to defend your spaceship’s cores located in different rooms from getting destroyed. This means, you have to fend off hordes of enemies in several separate rooms, basically at the same time, with limited resources (metal). Since you barely gain any metal from the monsters/ aliens you kill, most of the time you’ll be running from room to room destroying your turrets to get metal to build or upgrade turrets in another room and then repeating this process until all rooms are secured.

Let Them Come

Let Them Come

When looking at the screenshots and trailer for this game, I found it difficult to discern what the “gameplay” here was. I mean… enemies walk at you in a corridor and you shoot them. Whoopdie-doo I thought. I had this same confused view on Tower Defense games, as well, before I played them. But it was like four dollars plus some cents and it seemed interesting enough to gamble that much on being a good game.

Okay… so that IS basically the premise.

You have your standard ammo which is unlimited and free. But your mounted gun will heat up as you fire, and it will grow more innaccurate as it heats. You nail anything walking, crawling, or flying, on or through the corridor by unloading thousands of rounds. Actually I’ve killed thousands of enemies, so it’s more like tens or hundreds of thousands of rounds. Some of the enemies move toward you on the ground, some on the wall, some on the ceiling, and some fly.
