I love this game although it is obviously very early access and still got some problems, but overall I enjoyed playing it a lot.

Here is a video I did for you: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZP6dZ6oCR0Mwi0Lx2ggo1g

You can not really compare it to Stardew Valley although it might be a bit inspired by games like that.

Also you can see that the developers put a lot of heart into it and the background story as well as the NPC characters are already very unique although I expect them to still add a bit more text to some to show more details about the different characters.

This is not a beta disguised as an Early Access title. This game really is early access. It is pretty rough around the edges with incomplete content, bugs, and balance issues. I’ve got 3ish hours in and don’t think I’ve gone 5 minutes without noticing something that felt wrong.

But the game is still really good even in its current state. The gameplay loop feels new and is interesting. Some mechanics feel more complete than others, and those feel and play great. It looks like many other games we’ve seen before, but there is enough of a new spin on this one to make it feel unique.

Littlewood

An ultimate chill game to keep your mind at ease, with an added bonus if you are in for countless exploration and adventuring. This game is at the best of both worlds.

Pro(s)

  • Lovely Pixel Art: Overall graphics are simple and awesome

  • Calming and Peaceful: Audio track induces really chill vibes, no stresss

  • Paced and Relaxed Storyline: Straight to the point storyline - The game revolves around you being the hero after defeating the dark wizard and rebuilding your very own town. As day passes in the game, there will be new variants such as new townfolks, town objects and items, depending on what you do in an in-game day. There is no rush into anything and you can take your time to figure things out (playing at a pace you like can essentially prevent grinding xD)

I really enjoyed the beginning of the game and the progression, up until a certain point. I’d still recommend the game, but with some caveats. There are some really nice positives, and most of the negatives have to do with how the game fizzles out towards the end.

Pros:

Design: Cute and simple. I like most of the designs and the art.

Progression: Good feeling of progression at the start. The number of things you can upgrade and work on make the beginning of the game feel nice in terms of making progress on goals.

Monster Harvest

Monster Harvest

Should I recommend this game yes or no? I played about 50 hours of it.

But this game feels very early access. It is fine for the price.

Don’t expect too much though.

Here are my pros/cons.

Pros:

-Monster farming/fighting is integrated in the gameplay loop, unlike Stardew Valley where it feels more like an afterthought/removed from the actual gameplay.

-The world is more phantasy like. You don’t have your typical normal farmlife but instead you farm eyes and skulls. Especially the Dark season is very Halloween. Yes there are only 3 seasons: Dry, wet, and dark.

Hello,

I am quite conflicted about this game.

I really like the concept of Monster Harvest. It’s different from the usual. It’s like a mix between moonlighter (for the dungon part) but with planimals for fighters (a bit like pokemon) and harvest moon, stardew velley, peaceful days, etc… for the farming / townfolks part.

And that is a good idea. But there are a lot of itching little things.

Let’s start with the + :

Three seasons which are different from the usual is nice, 21 days instead of 28 or 30… Well, why not.

Wonderful little farming game from SKIPMORE and Kan.Kikuchi! This game has lots of things for you to do around your farm and an island. There are lots of items to collect and quests to complete. Lots of quality of life features are present in this game, as well as a catalog for the different items and people you have encountered. The game is in early access at the time of this review, and there are plans for lots more content to be added!

If wanted to get because cheaper then other games on steam not $35 I recommend you get it either on sale or regular price.

Game itself was not bad.

I am not sure if they character customization yet - I like to see that.

Not sure if avatar evolves or levels up like if you pick a race that sort thing.

Like: I think farming aspects are similar to real life/ foraging/beating up monsters.

Graphics reminds of pixel art graphics if weren’t for mobs being different and regions.

Relationships improve on help, item unlock, new recipe.

Very fun!

You get what you pay for BUT its not a bad start to a game. All the mechanics work as intended which is rare for a game so early in development. If the developer continues to update I believe more people will find this game.

Stardew Valley

This game got me through a really dark place in my life. I lost my job, spouse, and home in less than a year. I would chop wood and fish when I couldn’t find the energy to do anything else and fall asleep on the couch listening to the background music. I’ve put thousands of hours into Stardew Valley. The little successes I had were the catalyst I needed to think maybe I could have little successes again in life, too. Highly recommend. Thank you for making this game.

The first time I heard about it I was set on “I don’t like pixel games”, I played it half-heartedly and stopped after 3 hours. Almost a year later I picked it up again and now I am on the grind for 100 % perfection, decorating, fishing, mining, etc. There’s so much you can do in-game and you can either play it very chill and laid-back or you can chase all those achievements.

What I’d say now, after almost 200 hrs in-game, just give it a proper chance and let it charm you. :D

Cave Confectioner

Cave Confectioner

This product was provided for free to review by a friend of a friend.

The game initially reminded me of the classic Kings Quest game on the Apple II. You wander around a bit looking for the next thing to pick up. Kind of just wandering and clicking around with very little direction, but there are some occasional tips by talking to the characters. It was probably inspired at least some by MineCraft, since the player starts with nothing and has to pick up items and then use them with other items in inventory or objects on the ground to try to get make else. It also has similarities to One Hour One Life. There’s a lot of experimentation required to get anything going.

The game seems really nice, and I like the concept a lot. Thing is, I am having some issues with saving. However, as far as I understand the game is early in development and possibly being made by one person so issues like these are understandable. Can’t wait for future updates!

P.S A little help with saving would be much appreciated! :D

Edit: Save function in now working. Also, the controls are fine, that was a mistake on my part. Big thanks to the developer for the fast fix and the kindness!

I love this game but it’s still buggy. I hope that new and bigger updates will soon be released. I find the progress of update releases to be very slow. I’m starting to lose hope that it will ever be updated.

I love this game, it’s beautiful. I love the farming, mining and all the activities you can do within the game. Even though it’s early access I’m in love with it. It is rather buggy, since I have played multiplayer the entire time, my friend gets disconnected really often and he lost all his clothes and things in his inventory so make sure you put stuff in a container before you go to sleep. Avoid opening a container someone else is using because on one occasion it let the other person access the container and the stuff I had just added got deleted. I’m sure the game will only get better in the future.

HECK YEAH - I got an offer letter for college! It’s not Harvard or anything, but it’s still something…

HUH!?? This place is NOT like what I’d imagined! My professor just gave me a couple of quick lectures - like some kind of in-game tutorial for noobs - and then ran off! Leaving ME to take care of his creepy-looking animals. Actually… I’m not even sure if these are even animals at all? Professor called them ‘Fantamals’. Am I in some kind of Farm-sim Valley?

WHAT?! Someone stepped up to me while I was out shopping, and is challenging me to a Fantamal fight! He keeps his one in a weird bottle…

That’s right - Professor gave me one of those bottles too when he gave me the Fantamal. Guess I should’ve paid attention during that tutorial instead of just clicking through…

Ok then - I Got It! Let’s Fight!

[Game Introduction]

Inspired by farm-sim and monster-collecting games, you will collect different Fantamals and train them up, learning about their combat potential to earn credits at college. Explore the universe to learn about and unlock different Fantamals in different towns.

[Game Features]

  • Collect* produce from Fantamals in your very own research ranch.

  • Produce farm goods using different machines and cookware.

  • Deliver* goods to customers and fulfil orders.
