I almost quit this game after 5 minutes. Another TD game was frustrating me, this one seemed similar, and the reviews were mixed. It turned out to be not terrible. I stopped playing for the day but then gave it a second chance the next. Yes, it’s worse than Plants vs. Zombies but as a lane defense game it’s not horrendous. It all goes by fairly quickly and can present challenges without being excessively difficult. The people who complained about clicking all over the screen all the time woul clearly prefer to do nothing, even though that is most of the movement in the game once you have set up a row of defense ships.

If you like the card game you will probaly like this game as well. It is a great “port” and the artwork is beautiful as always. I really hope the developers keep adding expansions. At the moment only the base game and awesome level 9000 are included. Please give me my sharknado!

The AI is pretty good and can be quite challenging to everyone but really experienced players. But it is of course way more fun to play other people and I hope this game grows so you can just queue up for a game.

If a developer randomly reads this I have some suggestions for UI improvements:

Smash Up is an excellent card game, and the digital version is fun, but imperfect. The bot AI strikes a nice balance between competence and efficiency, leading to challenging but not impossible games without the frustrating wait times for AI pondering that some other games suffer from.

The UI design prioritizes streamlined gameplay over clarity, so it takes some getting used to to understand what’s going on. It also is not a 100% bug-free game. Both of these issues are manageable, but definitely take some getting used to… don’t turn off the Proceed button, make sure to check the log if something happens you don’t understand, keep an eye on the scrolling text at the bottom of the screen, quit+save+restart+continue if a technical glitch occurs, and if all else fails, ask for help in the forums.

Space Pirates And Zombies 2

Space Pirates And Zombies 2

Quick note

The mixed rating is because the devs could not add

multiplayer into the game due to major issues.

The devs made a fairly long detailled post about this, but it was removed.

So here’s the short version for wy it was cancelled :

After updating the game engine (Unity),the devs realised that unity completely changed how multiplayer works, thus all work done on multiplayer before that was lost.

They wanted to upgrade to the newer engine to improve performance and the long term compatibility with the new systems coming in the next few years. (Performance was indeed much better after the upgrade.)

Space Pirates and Zombies 2 is representative of one of the least-chosen paths a sequel can take. Rather than refining and rehashing the original, SPAZ 2 attempts to branch off on its own with an experimental spin on the original’s gameplay. In some ways, this is a welcome change. In others, it hasn’t gone so well.

Gameplay in SPAZ 2 is split cleanly between a strategic layer, a Mount & Blade-styled world map the player flies around, and the tactical layer, where their mothership does the actual fighting. Between fights, the player can assemble, strip down, or rearrange their mothership with collected parts. AI-handled captains follow similar goals with similar means all across the world map, forming their own relationships as they go along.

So, despite what the game has to offer, as well as any entertainent value it has.

There is one major issue which makes this an “ABSOLULTELY NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!!!” review.

Granted if the details I mention are changed I will gladly change my reveiw to a recommended because this IS a pretty fun game. (As long as you like games that last about as long as a single game of solitare per play)

The issue I have with this game is simple,

You can work on your game for years, have whatever grahics or machanics in it you want, you can even make it actually more entertaining than the price would lead you to think if you know what you’re doing (and no this game is not entertainment value wise worth more than $4 by a long shot) but N-O-N-E of that matters if M-O-S-T your players can’t even get the game to E-V-E-N R-U-N outside your splash screen that says who made the game in the first place.

Disclaimer: This game was provided by the developers and all my opinions are based in the early access stage of the game.

Pixel Survivors is a very nice strategy video game wich reminds me the classic Age of Empires, but this time in 8 bits! The idea is to grow up a little civilization on an island and avoid to let them die.

Strategy games are not my favorite ones but I like this one because it’s not so complicated like others and it’s fun.

The game has a very intuitive interface, anyone could play this game with no need of reading a lot of tutorials. In some way seems to be too basic the tutorial, but for me is just what I need, of course always could be improved. The rest? Well, it’s practise. Also has a complexity, maybe I’m not good in this kind of games but I lost the population several times and only once I could reach 10 people. I sail trying an army! I hate the winter. Kills all the chickens! So, you have to carry on the economy of the game, provide shelter and food. I suggest expanding in a foresting tower, a barn, and a chicken pen at the beginning, because you’ll need a lot of stone and wood for houses then, wheat, barley, etc. Try to focus on the economic balance, and don’t forget the medicinal herbs and.. the graves! Yes, you have zombies here, and that’s fun. The use to kill the population if you don’t have a proper army.

GAME TYPE:

2D Space Combat

Proberly THE best Top down space shooter you can get! When you unlock the capital ships you feel in a fight like Capt Kirk himself.

Even after all these years, this game is still my personal favorite when it comes to 2D space action. But not only the combat, also the ship building elements, upgrades and story make this a fantastic game. I also like the visuals - the colourful space looks beautiful! And the humour… oh my god! This game is so funny!

While I’m a bit late into the game of reviewing SPAZ, writing it anyway couldn’t hurt. Space Pirates and Zombies is a action-strategy space shooter with elements of random generation. While you have some control over how random it is, it only serves to increase or decrease the difficulty in the long run.

Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty solid. You pilot your ship around with WASD keys, and shooting your weaponry with the mouse. What makes it special if that you don’t point and shoot, but the direction of your ship controls where your shots are. If you place a weapon on the front of your ship, expect it to shoot forward until the higher class ships which have rotating turret mounts that do just that. Even then, anything other than lasers will still need to lead the target, as nothing is hitscan. This makes shooting more skill based.

I love this game. Its not very story based or long gameplay, but its really fun if you’re energetic and want to get it out in VR. It really exercises your multitasking abilities, I’m surprised people like Jacksepticeye or other famous youtubers haven’t played this yet. I spent so long just getting all the upgrades and finding secrets; There are so many fun, little secrets like finding the marks with the telescope or reading the posters. You can tell the developers worked very hard on it and it certainly paid off.

This game is both a great introduction to VR and a challenge for those are veterans in the VR space. The game play is fun and easy to learn but by no means does it hold your hand the whole way through. The difficulty of the game is perfect since the game play is long and makes you want to become a barista or bartender. Funnily enough, I have experience in a kitchen setting and as a Starbucks barista and although learning the recipes for these drinks and foods is a different story, the fast paced working is exactly whats its like working in this field, minus the skeletons and octopus trying to steal your money :). As fast paced this game is I rarely ever felt sick or dizzy playing this as well. It was extremely comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend this game for its fun fast paced game play, variety of weapons and traps, and its funny humor. And as a plus, if you do happen to want to go into the barista business at a place like Starbucks which can get really busy, this game is an amazing way to practice the fast paced environment feeling.

I have played all the 11 tables and I must say that this is a good pinball game. The tables are very creative and different one from another.

Do you remember the 3D Ultra Pinball series from Sierra? The tables have these kind of creativity and fun.

The graphics are ok, not ugly, not remarkably beautiful.

I have found bugs on one table, “Pirate Fantasy” and reported. Aside this, the game runs smoothy.

For the price, number of tables and creativity I highly recommend it.

Stay far away from this game and dev

This game is an asset flip and the dev even had the audacity to ban me from the community hub because i did the community a service and made the information available for all to see via links i posted.

So what grounds did he ban me on ?

“You have been permanently banned from the pinball Hub.

You were banned by a pinball developer.

Reason: “Posting spam””

First ban i ever had on steam or any where else on the web.

Besides of that he completely wiped away all comment from everyone else at that time so i can only wonder how many other people in those posts got banned as well.

Cursed Lands

Cursed Lands

An outstanding VN-RPG-quest crossover

I was expecting another bland, unnecessarily dragged out visual novel with uninspired, repetitive missions, but I was taken for a real treat here—kept replaying with different initial conditions (race, job, supporting character branching choice) over and over, enjoying every single play.

Visual Novel (VN) perspective: Story branching is rich and, as general VN WinterWolves titles go, you have an almost immediate option to go back—typically less than half a minute in gameplay, couple minutes or hours in the game world—to the last choice and change it to study other outcomes. I like this unique branching feature—it is like a quick time machine, or a very smooth and synoptic reload action that permits me to change my choice without having to repeat a known portion of play and grind once again.

I bought this game on sale, and I’m glad I did, it wasn’t worth the full price. I bought it because it was created by the same team who did Loren Amazon Princess, a game I loved. It’s unfortunate then, that this game is average at best. There are a few problems I have with this game that I feel affected my enjoyment of the game:

1. Characters/Romance

This is the big one, so i’m putting it first. The characters all had great introductions, and are really interesting. Unfortunately, the game screws this up deeply as it progresses. You don’t get to chose when to talk to the characters, their icon’s pop up when the game decides it’s time for their event to start, so you never truly get to know these characters beyond their surface introduction. The game prides itself on giving you romance options, and even advertises that you can trigger more then one romance scene. It isn’t hard, it’s like the game WANTS you to be a serial skirt chaser, and even when you do trigger these scenes, there’s no build up. Characters will spontaneously confess their feeling for you, claiming they always felt something for you. Your character will reply in kind, but you know this is false. Your POV character never felt anything of the sort, their lying.

Who needs guns or swords when the environment is on their side?

Better still: why not having them all?

Hunt bloodthirsty zombies in a pirate ship, survive rebellious machines in feudal Japan, face hellish demons in the cyberspace and escape giant rotating blades… everywhere. It may not make much sense, but you won’t have time to miss it.

  • Control Matt and the world around him: jump, swap between short and long-range attacks and rotate the world at will;

  • 10 kinds of enemies, 10 corresponding levels - which get mixed at the start of each scene;*

  • Upgrade your weapons and acquire new abilities through your journey;

  • Blood pumping electronic soundtrack;
