YOU ARE THE COMMANDER
The Great Sky War has stalled, it has been almost a year since the last battle. War has been a good business. Without it, you have been resorting to freelancing to get by. An offer arrived one morning, from some big-name trade and security company. It is an honest and stable job, so you took it right away. Now you found yourself at the Segson Archipelago, unknowingly involved in something far greater than you ever wished for.
THE SHATTERED WORLD
Eons ago, the Great Cataclysm shattered Spheara into pieces. Wild magic wind engulfed the globe, lifting the grounds hanging afloat in the sky. Spheara is the world in the sky above the deadly and dark ocean. Life in such a world is difficult and perilous but humanity and civilizations found ways to prosper.
THE MAGICAL CONTINENT
The place in the center of our focus is the continental group of landmass called Europa. These landmasses above the great ocean below is classified into three belts or rings by their vastly different distance above the sea level. Different nations and cultures developed on different archipelagos, at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, they struggle to define their coexistence.
THE KINGDOM IN TURMOIL
The Kingdom of Suthseg has long been the sovereignty over the Sagson Archipelago, a cluster of three major drifting landmasses with plenty of rich minor isles. The Archipelago also holds the key prominent point of interest, that is the Great Mana Coil, the largest gateway allowing airships to descend and ascend across belts.
THE CHARACTERS
Destiny has brought about two young souls and two patriarchs together. All strive towards different things in life and want a better world for themselves and those who come after them. What will be their legacies?
UPGRADE YOUR SHIPS
You can make, buy, or take ship parts from many sources and fit them into a wide variety of airship frames. The balance between speed, agility, durability, firepower, and transport efficiency are key to various strategies and tactics once entered into battle.
BATTLE ADVERSARIES
Exercise the best use of tactics and skills of the crewmen. Push the capability of an airship to its limit and seize the day to enjoy the spoil of victory.
TRAVEL ACROSS EUROPA
The continent is vast. It has many things to offer, many stories to tell, treasures to collect, and mysteries to unravel. The measurement unit and time taken during travel are measured in real-time and real units. Even though the player can accelerate time, this can infuse them with a strong sense of immersion.
TRADE WITH MERCHANTS
Many ports and merchants offer parts, ships, and all sorts of other items that would aid the player in their quests for fame and fortune. Merchants sell and buy specific things, demand and supplies are also limited to the nature of the settlement they are from.
BUILD INDUSTRIES
Producing, processing, transporting, assembling, and manufacturing goods and weapons are beats that keep Europa going. While skyfaring, freelancing, and privateering could earn a ship captain a good fortune; supporting and arming a fleet would require other kinds of ingenuity.

Pirate Code
This is exactly the pirate type game I’ve been looking for. It’s the best pirate rpg I’ve ever played. I like the fact that battles are turn based and can be strategically won with only one ship left in your arsenal. Then like a good rpg your ships are resurrected after battle. You are able to battle on the open sea as much as you want because you get a full heal after battle. No need to keep buying ships to replenish ones you lost. There’s fishing that works well as well as botany. You can get upgraded ship designs as you progress through the story and new Islands. I have been playing for 44+ hours and I haven’t even unlocked half the content in the game. This game I will probably play more than 100 hours before I come close to finishing the story. I bought this with the winter sales event so I got it half off, but it’s totally worth more than that because you’re going to be playing this game for more than 100 hours. Bug reports are monitored by the developer and fixed soon after. This is the only game I play every day taking breaks to eat & sleep. It’s easy for anyone to pick up & play. The only thing missing from this game is being able to rename main character, but other than that it a well made great RPG. You get to name the ships you buy so that’s a plus, too. If other Pirate games were made like this, I’d buy them too. I am a fan of Horizon’s Gate too, another similar game to this one, but not by this developer. This game gets better with the Kraken DLC, which i am hoping opens the door to them for adding more content this game. It would be even better and more like Horizon’s Gate, if not all ships you encounter at sea were hostile enemy ships, but great game with all ships being made enemy too….

Turn-based hex strategy games aren’t usually my thing, but I’m always on the hunt for a good pirate-themed game. I initially started the game up to get trading cards and also give the gameplay a shot— very quickly this became my favorite game to relax with after work for the past couple weeks. The combat gets quite challenging, but the overall gameplay loop is very satisfying and soothing, for me personally. The visuals and music are great as well! My only complaint would be that I found the story to be a bit lackluster, but still fun. Great game!

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption
I can’t recommend Hero-U and I hate that I can’t. Quest For Glory 1, the VGA remake is a staple of my childhood and it is unavoidable that I’d compare the 2 games. One of the key pieces of Quest For Glory, that my young mind loved, was that unlike a standard RPG where your character just grew - QFG made you think about how to practice and improve the various skills you would need and how to fit that into your journey so that you succeeded in later goals. In fact, it did this much better in my eyes than games such as Skyrim did years later.

Harry Potter meets The Sims and that is a really good thing!
You play a student named Shawn O’Connor in a class for Rogues at a magical university called Hero-U. Taking place on a magic parallel Earth, you have one semester to battle through exams, plotting classmates, private wagers and competition, unlocking secret passages throughout the castle, exploration in the catacombs, and battling and or negotiating with monsters from rats to wraiths. This game is $35 on Steam and worth the dive for anyone who loves immersive adventure gaming, from arguably two of the greatest video game creators in the genre, Lori and Corey Cole.

Skycadia
This is by far the most exciting thrill ride of a highscore leaderboard battling game I’ve played in many years.
At the start, you are set to begin unlocking the other pilots and weapons (3 of each). It may seem like a huge hurdle, but once you get your mind past the unlocks and just concentrate on the leaderboard, it becomes all or nothing.
Set in a retro 90’s look with it’s vibrant landscapes and scan lines, you feel right at home. (Well I do).
The chiptune music sets the scene for the 3 stages the game throws at you. First a light tune as the first wave of enemy ships spawn in, then a faster arrangement as the flying centipedes swoop around and finally the boss music kicks, and you know by then, things are gonna go down.

“Pixelized, Fast paced, Action packed flight shoot em up'”
The more and more i played the more challenging the game got, keeping me at my toes with it’s rouge-like enemy system, as soon as i had overcome a difficult enemy a new enemy would appear and kill me several more times.
The controls are simple and easy and the smoothness you can achieve once you’ve mastered the plane is awesome. I did have to toggle the inverted vertical controls, as flying felt much better that way.
The daylight cycle makes the game more interesting as the environment changes with the lighting. At night you can watch your bullets light up the clouds and environment as you blast enemies. and vice versa
