Hard Rock Pinball
PLEASE NOTE: This game is still being developed! So this is more or less an early access review.
Hard Rock Pinball as the name implies is a pinball game with a hard rock music theme. Each of the present 3 tables are themed accordingly and the developer is actively working on this title. The game itself plays okay and some of the recent additions make the game more palatable as his work continues, however, at this point the game is playable and may be enjoyable to some, but without rule sheets and achievements (which don’t appear to be working), it may be a little hard for some to take. The music in the game can get a little grating for long game players. Color scheme is still feels to old school for me, but everyone has a preference. I personally say give it a try, for the current price it is very reasonable, but who knows if you will like it, maybe you wont.

-Gameplay is boring.
-Ball is more like a pea than like a metall ball.
-Strengths of the Flippers is very weak.
-Power of the Bumpers and Slingshots is just not existing.
-The main music is a simple short drumloop which start to get nerving after a short period.
-The advertised sounds of guitars and synthesizers are just short one shot samples on bumpers and targets.
-No pause mode available
-No settings menu to change controls.
-Cutting half of the points just by bad luck is a no-go (even 2 times on a single ball)

Yoku’s Island Express
WOW! Just “WOW”. This reviewer rarely plays big games, and frequently doesn’t have an overwhelmingly favorable opinion of platformers. But somehow the synergy of it all (especially the incredibly successful risk of heavily integrating pinball), along with an interesting puzzle aspect created some kinda Big Magic with “Yoku’s Island Express”.
There are plenty of good reviews available, so this review will attempt to focus on what this reviewer knows best – Yoku’s Island Express’s (YIE) pinball aspect. Is this really pinball? Yes…and no. (I’ve been playing pinball off and on for over fifty years, and have served as a moderator on one of Steam’s more successful pinball game’s discussion forums, just as background.)

Yoku’s Island Express
A provocative and thoughtful combination of well-known gaming mechanics as we all know can make for some seriously entertaining and popular new prospects, and Yoku’s Island Express really takes the cake when it comes to a profound and creative hybrid of genres.
A brave and unique potpourri of gameplay mechanics featuring the quick reflexive action of tight-knit and well designed pinball tables spread throughout an expansive and gorgeous platforming journey with the deep exploration of a Metroidvania, this is not only a long-overdue experiment of combined mechanics but a really well executed one!

Darkanoid
Oh yeah! the best version of the great arkanoid. The one-man added to the collection. Classic with modern graphics, I think that there will be no better versions, except maybe some kind of 3D mod) but still I think the limit has been reached and there is no better option than this one)

I love Arkanoid since Dandy and have played a great many, but Darkanoid was able to surprise and delight. The familiar gameplay here is diluted with just a ton of different mechanics and chips that make each new level something interesting and exciting, and most importantly, not like the past.
Oh yes, there are also barefoot shoes, and believe me, they will organize a strong burning for you in the lower back, but it’s worth it.
Overall, this is by far one of the best (if not the best) Arkanoid I’ve played. Nice picture, sound, many levels and mechanics. I definitely recommend it.
