Pinball

Pinball

I have played all the 11 tables and I must say that this is a good pinball game. The tables are very creative and different one from another.

Do you remember the 3D Ultra Pinball series from Sierra? The tables have these kind of creativity and fun.

The graphics are ok, not ugly, not remarkably beautiful.

I have found bugs on one table, “Pirate Fantasy” and reported. Aside this, the game runs smoothy.

For the price, number of tables and creativity I highly recommend it.

Stay far away from this game and dev

This game is an asset flip and the dev even had the audacity to ban me from the community hub because i did the community a service and made the information available for all to see via links i posted.

So what grounds did he ban me on ?

“You have been permanently banned from the pinball Hub.

You were banned by a pinball developer.

Reason: “Posting spam””

First ban i ever had on steam or any where else on the web.

Besides of that he completely wiped away all comment from everyone else at that time so i can only wonder how many other people in those posts got banned as well.

Star Wars™ Pinball VR

Update: There was a patch today and the locomotion / safety issues seem resolved. I spent some time trying to reproduce them and could not. As this was my only real problem with the software, I am changing my recommendation, since almost everything else was really well done. I do play with a game controller, though, so I am unsure if the vive controller issues persist.

TLDR: It’s fun if you can get to the part where you actually play. Getting to a table can be a trial and an actual safety risk for people who are new to VR. Some great gameplay and privacy policy choices are overshadowed by horrible UI design and negligent locomotion QA. Good value for dollar if you can overcome the locomotion.

This is a good little collection of pinball games made by Pinblend Studios. Right now there are three pinball tables that they made and are all included in this game. I actually won this game in a tournament they had so I got this game for free! Two thumbs up.

My friend gave me the key to play this game. Oh let me tell you this game is great fun relaxing game. I’ve tried it both on my phone and on my computer and spent 3 hours trying to see how far i can make it through the infinite level. The music also fits right in with the game. Would recommend this game to help kill some time.

Pinball FX2 VR

Thanks for such an awesome game! It works fine on GTX Titan cards, smooth motion. The playfield is a lot easier to see and understand now, love how amazingly colorful it is with the OLED display, similar to the fun of playing on the PS Vita. Learning how to setup the HTV Vive headset took some time. I needed to update the firmware over USB on the LightBoxes to get them to shutdown when Steam VR exits, as well as install the bluetooth driver and update them over bluetooth too. Also, I needed to update to the latest nVidia drivers to get the HTC Vive to run in Direct Mode, before doing that it seemed like it was not working properly at all, just displaying a copy of the desktop, unusable as far as I could see. Anyways, once Direct Mode drivers were installed and working, everything was fine. Far exceeded any expectations I had for this system. Pinball FX2 VR is a must-buy, it’s amazing how many tables are working already. The HTC Vive controller support still needs a little work, as it seems that there’s no way to accurately control the plunger e.g. as needed for the skillshots to get the Wisdom upgrade in Biolab, so for now I’ve still been using the wired XBOX ONE controller. It’d be great to be able to fully use the HTC Vive controllers, though, as they’re two separate controllers, one for each hand. I was having the occasional 3-second black screen when using a 15ft DisplayPort cable, but after switching to a 15ft HDMI Monster cable, all is working fine, so I can have the PC 15 ft away from the HTC link box, keeping the main area nice and quiet for gaming. There’s also a headphone port at the back of the headset, and in-ear headphones are provided that are very convenient and sound fine. Having some easy way to control the volume in-game could be helpful, at the moment adjusting the volume is kinda awkward. My system is usually setup for nVidia Surround, so if I click on the overlapping squares menu button on the HTC controller to use the Steam virtual interface and view the PC desktop that way from within the headset, all of the icons are very tiny indeed, barely usable. Still, minor inconvenience. Love the sunrise, the way the sunbeams come in and light up the game room is very well done. The latest nVidia 378.92 driver still seems kinda buggy, because if I click to enable stereoscopic 3D (for playing ordinary Pinball FX2 in 3D Vision, which is awesome too), the entire system works fine only until the next reboot, at which point nothing works until I reinstall the nVidia driver again. Scary! The best driver for 3D VISION on GTX Titan seems to be the old 327.23 and I’d been using it up until March 2017 completely successfully. Sadly, it doesn’t have “Direct Mode” support, hence the need to update to the newer 378.92 driver. Well, perhaps nVidia will fix the driver some day, it’s very puzzling why rebooting doesn’t get the system back to a clean state if I enable stereoscopic 3D, and the 378.92 driver needs to be reinstalled. Overall, it’s amazing fun to play this, and to see the beautiful Zen tables really coming to life. Your work on this is really appreciated! Oh, by the way, the menus for the game are too “HUGE” when running the game in 3D Vision Surround on three monitors, it’d be great if you could render the menus in 1920x1080 rather than in 6000x1080.

You can’t change the view so I guess they want it to feel like you’re playing a real (and most amazing) pinball machine.

I use an Xbox controller. I sit down get comfortable. Hold my HMD exactly arms length above my head, reaching for the ceiling. Press X on the controller to reset the view.

Put the HMD back on and it’s like you’re inside of the pinball machine. (or using view 5 or 6) And you’re looking UP for the mostpart with less strain on your neck. And I can get highscores for LONG periods of time. NOT STANDING and feeling like crap. Take my advice or suffice.

Malzbie’s Pinball Collection

Malzbie’s Pinball Collection

As i made a fair but rather critical review of Malzbie’s Pinball Collection on day one of the release and as i promised in the following review thread that i would take my review up to consideration if some of the games problems was sorted out i thought it was about time to give it another go.

Previously i had issues with slowly reacting flippers, controller not working very well with the game and the pricing of the table dlcs among my main issues with the game.

Formerly posted comments in the reviews thread has been deleted as i believe they would cause more confusion keeping them up than doing any good in this new review of mine.

This free to play pinball game is an unexpected gem as far as I’m concerned. I was a little dubious at first. The images of the paid for DLC looked a little simple; however, after playing the free table for a while, I decided to buy the DLC that was available. All six tables at £0.79 seemed pretty cheap, compared to tables for other pinball collections. The ball physics is spot on, the flippers are reponsive and you are able with a little practice to direct your shots in the direction you wish. The ball speed is pretty fast, but I like that. The only real negative I have is the inability to adjust the plunger shots. To activate the plunger you just press the down arrow key. The ball is then shot off to the top of the table with no finesse. Apart from that I have no complaints with this collection. It’s not Zaccarina, Pinball FX or the Stern pinball tables. All those mentioned have, like Malzzbie’s, a free table to play, so technically they are all free to play. Of the four collections I think this one is the weakest, but still very enjoyable to play. In fact I’d go as far as to say, this would be a perfect game for those new to computer pinball games.

fun table, same wonderfully complex table layout, LOVE the length of play per game, i feel like it almost never ends; and reaching target and goals feels much smoother of play than previous table. lots of fun ingenuity.

overall, 8/10. just still not a fan of the style of the graphics/art, and the DMD still without much option to adjust/relocate/hide/resize, etc, but I play on a VCab, so i know im a minority for certain features. highly recommend for fans of the game.

and again, great background track, major earworm

Flip-Out!

Flip-Out!

Flip-Out! is a challenging pinball game with a twist, the flippers can move! This combination of pinball and the Breakout-style gameplay of horizontal movement and brick breaking brings you a brand new way to play pinball with new challenges and strategies. Our first table, The Curse of Crab Cay, puts you in what should be a serene undersea grotto, but marauding pirates and ghostly skeleton crews overhead have disturbed the calm of the cay and it’s your job to assume the role of a local crab to restore peace and quiet. Hit your targets and you’ll get to face an even bigger threat!

Zeke’s Peak

Zeke’s Peak

Last year I saw a digital Ice Cold Beer in a video of SpaciesArcade. I didn’t think much of it but soon after YouTube showed me an old mechanical cabinet version of the game and I got interested since it has some similarities to pinball which I love. I watched a few more related videos which YouTube remembered because it suggested the Zeke’s Peak trailer to me a few months ago and I put the game in my wish list. I bought it the day it was released in Early Access.

Features

At this moment there are five worlds, a beginner world to get familiar with the controls, an arcade themed world, a jungle themed world, an ice themed world and the final world is an expert world. Each of the first four worlds have one or more classic levels based on the old mechanical cabinets, the other levels, 69 of them, are obstacle courses. The expert world has endless versions of all the classic levels.

Normally I shy away from Early Access games from past experiences, but having played this as a child in arcades when it first came out in 1983 I could not wait for this game to come out. It’s early and doesn’t have much yet but it’s off to a great start-essentially you have 4 play modes-a series of tutorial levels culminating in unlocking the original arcade version, 3 other themed series of levels and the alternate original version called Ice Cold Beer, which I didn’t know even existed (but then again I was 5 when it hit arcades).
