This is the perfect game to play when you’re chilling out between a hard game of Space Pirate Trainer or Audioshield. It’s relaxing, fun, and there’s a bunch of great stuff coming in future releases. I love beach balls!

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs

In my opinion, this is one of the best VR games I have ever played. It takes the classic formula of throwing birds at pigs, scales it up into a 3D environment and nails everything it has to.

I have played practically all of the Angry Birds games from when they initially came out, nearly an entire decade ago, and so when I saw this, I immediately had to give it a go. I was sceptical, since the original games were 2D and adding an additional dimension would, naturally, cause problems. However, this is actually one of the best parts of the game. The level design accommodates the additional 3D element by allowing most levels to have the option of taking your shots at different, predetermined locations/angles. I find this feature really well done because it continues the element of puzzles in the mobile games where it is about finding the right wood plank to destroy and analysing the structures from different viewpoints, looking for the weak-points is both engaging and satisfying when you get it right.

Balloon Flight

Balloon Flight

A fun little game, somewhere between parkour and sandbox I guess.

It could use some more objects or some ways to connect parts togeher, as right now you effectively only have 2 different vehicles you can use, a small one and a large one. On the large one you could place some objects losely, you can’t connect them however so its not truely a sandbox-like “Build your own vehicle and then fly it”.

I hope something along those lines will be added at some point in the future, as beeing able to build your own craft from scratch to master the skies would be even more fun for sure!

It’s a good game overall. Have a few collision issues (Specially issue when the platform should take your boat while you take more time and when you return IT HAS STUCK ITSELF ON THE FUCKING WALL AND RUINS A MAJESTIC RUN). But it’s a good game.

KnockDown

KnockDown

KnockDown

KnockDown is fun for young and old. In the 2D version of the classic tin can alley game

it’s about hitting cans with a ball and clearing them. You have to remove different obstacles

or solve small puzzles in order to get to the cans. Good timing and skill are always helpful.

Sometimes, however, it only helps to knock the cans down with enough force.

In the 8 scenarios with a total of 160 levels the little tennis ball “Benny” has to master

various environmental influences such as weightlessness or currents on the seabed,

to clear away all the cans. Insidious dangers can lurk here and there.

The difficulty varies from scenario to scenario and caters to both beginners and savvy

Gamers. There are also 22 motivational achievements. Those who have already

mastered KnockDown can also prove their skills in 16 leaderboards.

KnockDown is a “real” indie game. No 30-person development team, no million-dollar budget,

no publisher, nothing. Only one developer and approx. € 3000 for software licenses and store fees.

But now have fun!

Your developer

ps.: … “better KnockDown than Lockdown !!!” 😉

Bomb Bowling 2

Bomb Bowling 2

You know what? This is a solid little action-puzzle game. It’s nothing fancy, but it has 50 levels and a decent challenge level throughout (once you get past those first 3-4 tutorial-skill levels). It’s made in GameMaker (just a hint, dev, change up your icon next time ;) ), but is proof that you can turn out a good game with that engine if you put effort into your game and aren’t just doing some lazy template-flip.

The levels are well-designed and were clearly tested. There are a couple of them that are a smidge finicky, and I swore at the thing a bit at the required split-second timing (when I clearly understood how to solve the puzzle), but that’s also pretty typical for this genre.

Couch Monsters

Couch Monsters

I can highly recommend this game. I had a lot of fun playing it with my boyfriend and friends. The game has a very cute artstyle and the puzzles are great. The levels vary from easy to difficult, so the game keeps challenging you (in a good way) and never gets boring.

If you are looking for an uplifting game to play with your folks, couch monsters is for you!

I had a lot of fun playing the game together with my girlfriend!

There are really great puzzles in this game, any Portal player will probably love it and be familiar with the mechanic even though it is definitely a different take on it! ;)

I also love that there are so many interaction possibilities between the two players (being able to swap to try the other half of the choreography, as well as the little idle animations, as well as the “showing tool”).

I really recommend this game if you have someone you like to solve puzzle with. :)

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

This game was over hyped, over praised and given way too much exposure. It just barely lasts an hour and a half. You could probably boost an extra hour on to that if you want to find ties but that’s only if you really feel like you need to.

A lot of people say that this game is “laugh out loud hilarious” and while I understand that humor is subjective I didn’t find myself laughing like everyone else. Every now and then I’d crack a smile.

Something I hear being thrown around a lot by Octodad fans and journalists is that this game is just so “fresh”. The controls are “bad”. It’s hard to move Octodad, which of course as we all know it’s designed to be this way. Doing mundane tasks such as mowing the lawn or making coffee is now apparently “hilarious” because we can’t control our character. Don’t get me wrong, I like this idea too and it’s fun seeing Octodad flail all over the place but it gets stale fast. So, sure, Octodad is “fresh”, but that freshness lasts about as long as leaving a slice of bread on the counter (i.e not long).

Real player with 53.9 hrs in game

You are a family man, looking after your wife and kids, doing all sorts of every-day tasks such as mowing the lawn or going food shopping, and taking a trip to the aquarium. The only catch? you are an octopus. You can’t let anyone find out so you must act as human and casual as possible.

With fun and goofy controls to control Octodad’s tentacles to get by without anyone knowing is definitely great fun, and mixed with a fun storyline with some great dialog, it was a real treat to play. What makes this game even more fantastic is the ability to play co-op with 2 to 4 people with each person controlling a limb or two! This makes for a great couch co-op experience, and greatly adds to the challenge of the game. Hidden ties help you to constantly search and explore, and the wonderful achievements give some extra challenges along the way. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, especially with a partner.

The Adventures of Mr. Bobley

The Adventures of Mr. Bobley

A 10/10 masterpiece. For starters, the graphics are absolutely stunning, with Bobley himself being one of the most aesthetically pleasing characters this gamer has ever laid their eyes on. Gameplay wise, you will find yourself constantly faced with daunting moral dilemmas that will make you question your definition of right and wrong. The puzzles are delightfully balanced so as not to be too easy or too frustrating; just the right amount of challenge for everyone. And the platforming, oh my the platforming. What can I say other than that it’s absolutely splendid. It will remind you of classic platformers like Super Mario 64 and Jak and Daxter, all while still maintaining a unique feel all its own.

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Ok, I really like this game, so I am going to write possibly the most serious review about the game. TABG is a battle royal that was made as an April Fools joke, but turned out to be way too good to just drop, so Landfall decided to support it further, and the effort definitely shows.

Every game of TABG starts out with you (and your squad if you play with friends) jumping out of a bunch of semi trucks onto a large and diverse map. You must then loot different spots on the map, and try to be the last man (or squad) standing. During the entire game, the play area will continue to change and shrink like most other battle royales, but there’s a twist. The play area is normally defined by a “zone” in other games, but in TABG the zone is physically closed in on by gigantic floating walls, making it impossible to leave the zone after they close. Be the last one (or squad) standing, and you get that sweet VICOTORY.

I love this game so much I played when this game first released and was free with a few friends and we had a blast. The game is still great but no one plays it anymore. Just make the game free again, solos are no longer a thing and squads are just barely existent. No one wants to pay money for a multiplayer game with no playerbase.

(EDIT)

ITS FINALLY FREE!

Thank you devs. I love this game so much and everything they have done with it. Please get this it is an absolute master piece
