Floating Girl

Easy Little Shmup

First off, this game IS safe for work…depending on who your boss is. The unlockable artwork contains no naughty bits or suggestive themes, so…those game tags were big fat lies.

In fact, given how simple this shoot ‘em up is, Floating Girl is practically safe for children. In other words, it will NOT tax your gamer skillz, but should be just about right for a 5-year-old. I kinda hoped the difficulty would increase with each level, but it did not.

Extremely slow “bullet hell” arcade game. As you destroy the little spaceships an ecchi image of a girl slowly lowers.

-There is no sexual-content/nudity

-There is no patch I could find to fix that

-The does not offer anything that another game does better already

It’s so barren that there isn’t even much to write about it. Very simplistic.

TOEM

TOEM

I was very charmed by the demo of this game on one of Steam’s special events, so I purchased it at launch. I was not disappointed with the final product. The game is equal parts charming and relaxing with an adorable, hand drawn art style and calm, lovable music.

This is a point and click adventure game. It controls exclusively with the mouse (though developers claim they’re working on adding keyboard support as well). The gist, like in most of these games, is to travel to different places, meet lots of people and solve puzzles for their benefit in order to reach a personal goal. There’s no combat here, of course. Your only tool is a camera, which you can use to take pictures, zoom in to see things far away and even interact with certain characters and objects in more than one way.

There’s so much I want to say about this lovely game, so I’ll break it into sections.

Gameplay: The main mechanic of the game is taking photos. But don’t be fooled by this seemingly simple premise, there is so much to do! In each area of TOEM, I had tons of things that I could complete, or I could just sit back and take in my surroundings. You will need to fulfill a certain number of requests to move onto the next area, but after that it’s up to you how you want to spend your time. I’m already 5 hours in but I’m not even halfway through the game yet! Pro tip: wearing the clogs helps you play at a more relaxed pace.

I’m gonna keep it very short and very.. whatever. I played this game a year ago and I took it again now just for fun xD

Well, I won only one thing in my entire life - European championships for typing speed or something like this. I mean, various titles in the same “competition” type XD

One can probably argue that this is one of the many causes that forced me to undergo surgery three times on my right hand, but this is another story.. xD

Well, I have always typed like at 700-800 characters per minute (NOT WPM, that means WORDS per minute! 800 words per minute I think not even an octopus). So this game was one of my very first choices on Steam.

This game has very great potential and I love the way it’s programmed. It has a very simple design, focusing only on the typing with no superfluous graphic distractions. The amount of modes is nice, and provides variety for those who want a simple game to play, and it also offers multiplayer options with people online. I personally play the Stream Mode, as it lets you know your WPM (since I purchased the game to help me type faster). HOWEVER. At the time of this review, I am VERY disappointed in the word choices: fake words, misspelled words, Roman numerals, acronyms, unnecessary apostrophes, proper nouns that aren’t capitalized, and way too many words about reproductive organs. I’m not sure if users are the ones who contribute to the word lists, but since you have to be online to play this game anyway, I think it would be better if the game just pulled words from an online dictionary instead.
