Sisyphus Reborn
I believe I’m a less common player on Steam, I buy games for several different reasons, some I buy for myself and also for other people, some games I prefer to watch and comment on instead of play. I collect games for their beauty, for their art design, for their challenge or if they convince me they have a good story. This “game” is, above all, a philosophical reading, you basically need to follow the only way of doing the things.
Inspired by the Albert Camus' essay in which he introduces his philosophy of the absurd: that of the man in search of meaning, unity and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of God and eternity. Does the realization of the absurd demand suicide? Camus replies: “No. It demands revolt.” He then describes various approaches to the absurd in life. The last chapter compares the absurdity of man’s life with the situation of Sisyphus, a personage of Greek mythology, condemned to always repeat the same task of pushing a rock to the top of a mountain, and every time he was almost at the top, the stone rolled down the mountain again to the point of departure by an irresistible force, completely invalidating the hard effort expended. You can and, sometimes, you have to do your own way, and even your closer beloved ones will be against you, because people are doctrinated to live an absurd life with no purpose other than gather properties. I call it contemporary (and cheap) slavery, the utilitarian and materialist world we live to serve purposes and reach goals that are not the ours.

When you finish playing Sisyphus Reborn, it will feel like being suddenly roused from deep sleep in the middle of a blustery night. It’s raining heavily outside; the window is wide open, and the cold, damp air makes you uncomfortable, finding its way under the blanket and disturbing your peace. You remember that the dream was uniquely pleasant; disappointed, you rub your eyes somewhat forcefully for no apparent reason, turn over, adjust the pillow a bit and prepare to go back to sleep. Some intrusive thoughts linger for a couple of minutes. They have no discernible form or purpose, but they feel vaguely threatening. Being awake at this hour seems strange and unnatural, so your only desire is to plunge into nothingness once more.

You Doesn’t Exist
I can appreciate the artistic vision of the thing, really… but it just gets too strange for my taste. It’s like if you find an anime show that you really like… and then the final episode (or two episodes) they try to get all existential and flip the universe on its head and it just ends up being a terrible thing to watch. I enjoyed the first half of this game. I played up to META level 10, I liked it up until about META 6 I think. (META is the point where you change to another scenario.) Then it just got… stupid, for lack of a better word. I might go back and finish it someday, but probably not anytime soon.

If the game didn’t close itself, you aren’t done, and maybe that’s not even the end. I may have only got one potential ending. The dev thinks he is hilarious and clever, not sure if I have the patience to find out if that’s true or not. Yes it takes time to get to the point, yes everything is really generic at first, yes you get made fun of by the characters near the end. That’s the point. That’s probably the only point. Maybe….I don’t know. I may have to try again at some point, see if the first few (…chapters?) affect the rest or if it’s even worth finding out

Eidolon
This is fun. And intriguing.
But discussing what makes it fun and intriguing without introducing a crap-ton of spoiler tags is nigh-impossible - and I imagine that to read something which resembled a declassified document just wouldn’t be much fun
! (albeit slightly intriguing…). Suffice it to say that “Eidolon” is not your typical VN.
This is what I can state without resorting to the aforesaid: interesting, thought-provoking stuff - but also more than one LOL moment - happens in relation to the fourth wall. Your choices matter, with some degree of tolerance according to the gravity of the given choice. I can also confirm that, in spite of their generally strong adherence to tropes, each of the romance-able characters is endearing in her own right (and the others - well, you’ll just have to find out for yourself… It all works though). In general, it would be fun to meet these ladies IRL.

Basically a more suitable version of Doki Doki Literature club. Doki Doki has an easier user interface (easier to skip/find alternate dialogue), but this game has more options and your choices make more of a difference. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the game to someone who enjoyed Doki Doki, but as the game is free, I’d still recommend a quick run through to get a feel for it if you enjoy dating simulators, visual novels, philosophy, and/or other games of this type in general.

!OK PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE!
At first i was unsure about the game do to the lack of players and lack of knowledge i felt that there wasn’t anything to the game, after spending a few hours online and encountering the few loyal players this game has and meeting the owners, i can tell you this game has a lot of potential and the staff is very dedicated to making this game work and are open to taking requests for future updates.
the pvp in this game is really what makes it so great and i long for the day that there is always a few players online! you basically start off as an undead who’s brought back to the world after it being destroyed. you explore the map in search of materials to craft trinkets, cosmetics and spells which u can use in combat. you can build your own hidden base and fill it with shrines to get fast materials, and even set out and raid other peoples base!

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting
A short, potentially thought-provoking story, lasting mere 5 minutes. Completion grants an achievement.
It tells about a woolly mammoth whose child is lost, so she leaves the herd to go and find them. In more general terms it describes the relationship between mammoths and ancient hunter-gatherers. It’s cool and in fact pretty metal, though a bit simplistic. But it’s free after all.
Art style is ingenious, resembling the style of cave paintings, very fitting to the theme.
As for controls, you can use either keyboard, gamepad or even mouse. It’s easier to maneuver with mouse or gamepad than with keyboard as you’re not restricted to strict compass directions.

My first thoughts: hey, this is kinda cute, I guess.
My final thoughts, less than ten minutes later: FUCKING CHILD ABUSE!!
If you have kids, and want them to grow up really, REALLY fast, this brief taste of 100-proof bottled bleakness should have them reaching for the razor blades before they’ve grown all their teeth back. Borderline misanthropes like yours truly should enjoy it, however. Nothing like a bit of nihilism to get your morning/mid-to-late afternoon started, with a bowl of sour, soggy corn flakes to wash it all down.

Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~
I can garantee Dies Irae is one of THE BESTS Visual Novels I’ve ever played.
A work about the mystery of the unknown.
A work about the fairness of the mundane.
A work about love.
A work about desire.
A work about the appreciation of life and happiness… featuring super nazis and opera.
Dies Irae is indeed an special kind of work. It is a really passional novel, indeed, but it is also one which doesn’t even try to surprise you anytime. It is quite predictable, really cliché and most of its storyline is basic at best. Yet, it not only embraces its own nature to tell an story which divagues to you really directly about a themes like the originality of fiction or the beauty of the moment, it also exceeds at art, music, narrative and characters.

“What if I said that one’s entire life had been decided by fate?
That every single one of your actions, from the minute to the monumental, stemmed not from your own choices, but had already been decided upon?
That life being a journey of limitless possibilities was but an illusion, and no matter how fiercely man struggled, he stood at the mercy of a long-established path?
The wealthy shall know their riches. The needy shall starve on the streets. The wicked shall be wicked, the righteous just. The beautiful, the hideous, the strong, the frail, the fortunate, the miserable… and finally, the victors and the defeated.

Virtual Exhibition
I like the intention behind this, allowing artists to make a virtual exhibit to display their art to the world. And while this could easily be a cashgrab, its a nifty little free to play game. Really cool.I would like a graphics option to disable specifically the motion blur. I don’t like it very much as a personal preference so that would be awesome. Also I want to pick up the red egg, that would be dope.Cheers.EDIT: Not only can you pick up the egg , but there is much to uncover. CHECK THIS OUT!!

Excellent concept, well executed.
I enjoyed wandering around, taking my time to study each image on display. Felt as though I were in an actual gallery, but without worrying that I was looking too long or standing in someone’s way (plus, no social distancing!). Both a relaxing and inspiring experience.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing more works on show in a future update. I’m excited to see where this development goes.

Idle Monkeylogy
This game is based on the Infinite Monkey Theorem, which states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text. This explains the main function of the game in which you get gold for trying to type words, the more letters you get correct the more gold you receive.
All the words you’ve correctly typed give you a +1% bonus to gold, these words and the bonus can be checked in Vocabulary. Every so many words give you a permanent bonuses which is done so by going into Edit, however you reset the bonus given in Vocabulary and have to retype the words to get their bonus again.

I genuinely enjoy this game!
For an ‘idle’ game, it has a truly unique concept (based upon the ‘infinite monkey’ theorem, but unique for an idle, or any game, to the best of my knowledge, at least) that makes it fresh and fun!
I especially enjoy that whilst you absolutely can leave the game idle and make progress, you also have the option to play the game actively, and it’s fun!
Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to ‘make a dictionary’ under the edit tab. Each time I try, it simply resets my progress without allowing me to create my own words list.
