Super Sketchy Party

Super Sketchy Party

It’s as sketchy as the title make it seems. It’s just so bareboned, it doesn’t make people want to play. Sure, it’s early access, but they really should have made it much more attractive.

It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just badly explained and there’s much better, and funnier alternatives. My friend was completely bored on it, and we decided to quit during the first game and we switched to a certain stand-alone similar Jackbox game that kept their attention for far, far longer.

There’s barely any music or sounds, which makes the whole experience feel dull. Animations are barely present in the game making it feel boring, and the game doesn’t make people interact with each other partly due to the presentation. Just having a narrator or anything to explain in the beginning would make a really sweet difference. The different prompts really didn’t felt much funny, they were honestly quite boring.

ACT IT OUT XL! A Game of Charades - Designed for Twitch

I originally bought this on the Wii U and one feature that was missing there (but is here and in the PS4 version) is the connectivity to Twitch, Mixer and YouTube.

Let me just say first of all. This is great fun with friends and family and works as a brilliant couch-play / party game.

But for me, the real fun is being able to stream it. Casually making a fool of yourself is what the internet is all about and I’m pleased to say that I had a great first stream with this. The viewers were engaged and having a good time, and playing the game is easy, easy, easy.

Roast Party

Roast Party

If you love hanging around with your friends and poking fun this is the best game! Even those who were nervous or considered themselves sweethearts got hooked on this idea and ran with it even harder than the rest of us. Somehow instead of destroying friendships we actually created some solid bonds! Can we deem this Roast Therapy ?

I never laughed so much at a game like this one, it’s quite amazing to see some prompts & pictures work really well each other along with some of the answers written down by the players, hope to see more games from these developers!

Awkward

Awkward

A really solid and well-made party game, it’s like a piece of art in my steam library.

  • Haven’t encountered a single bug/glitch

  • Fun, entertaining and trippy artwork

  • Clean user interface

  • Great sound design

  • The way the gentleman pops up and says “Awkward!”, is a really nice touch

  • Native controller support, which is something that can be overlooked in these sorts of games

  • The “super awkward” update essentially sorted out the only issue the game had, which was the wait for round 3

So what is Awkward?

It’s a simple yet addictive opinion guessing game. It’s fun with a friend or partner but should be most fun in a group where you try to do better than the others. I found the comparison with the “rest of the world” to be less interesting than I had hoped, so I can’t really recommend playing solo.

Final verdict: Wait for a sale!

Strongest point: A game in your steam library you can play with any person. Plus: Geat artstyle.

Bottom of the 9th

Bottom of the 9th

Hi there:

This is a fun game quick and simple.

It’s the bottom of the 9th and you need 1 point to win the game.

Some of you may find this useful.

When a S (Strike) is rolled the batting player need to roll bigger then that to hit.

If same number is rolled will result to a foul.

When a B (Ball) is rolled the batting player need to roll the same number or lower to get a ball.

When a C (Crush) is rolled the batting player must roll the same number to hit.

Whenever you hit the ball with a 6 you Crush It!

This is my first ever review.

My advice would be to buy a physical copy of this board game.

The digital game itself is fantastic, and great fun.

My major issue that has caused me to write this review, and advise you to save the £0.79 pence this game costs, is that there is a finite amount of dice role animations and therefore it feels like rolling the dice is out of your control.

The developers really need to make the dice rolling mechanic truly random. When you have played enough games you will notice that, immediately, when the dice begins its role animation you will be able to call the face it will land on before it has finished its role. This can cause you to feel very frustrated and give you a feeling of the game being against you.

Wild Honesty: A party game for deeper conversations

Wild Honesty: A party game for deeper conversations

Do you want to connect better with your friends, family, partners? This is the game for you. It opens the floor for conversation and getting to know one another. Having played this with some intimate friends, it left us spending hours discussing our lives, our pasts, and a lot of other things we never likely would have broached. Come to the metaphorical table with a mindset of vulnerability, and you’ll come out learning a lot about the people you’ve played with.

Could use some more questions, but I figure the developers will update over time and add more as time goes on. I don’t know if the questions repeat, but it’d be good to be able to mark questions as answered. Maybe have a mode where it’s a ‘saved game’, so it remembers what you’ve already answered and what you haven’t. Multiple save game slots would be good, to play it with different people/groups.

Really enjoyed it, actually and looking forward to seeing where this goes and if there’s any additional questions as time goes on with a patch or some sort. The guessing questions are good for losen up the mood if anyone doesnt feel like talking, etc. But the questions are really good prompts to reflect and chat with others. You might not play this game with strangers but its great to play with people you know and its good to sit and discuss these questions.

I Really love the concept actually.

Rockets are Super Hard

Rockets are Super Hard

This has been a great game to play with a group of friends. Working together to successfully launch a rocket into orbit using the highly detailed manual and communication skills not to miss any timed events or which button to correctly press. The manual may seem daunting at first, but the PDF is very well organized and put together that we have had no issues navigating through it to find the different modules for each mission. The sense of achievement is very high after each successful launch, and makes us want to keep playing once we finally do achieve mission success. Highly recommend this game for anyone that likes group puzzle games.

This game is already shaping up to be really special. This is helped tremendously by devs who are extremely active in the community and receptive to suggestions. They work quickly and respond in the forum. I made a list of typos and suggestions for the manual and it was a fairly long list. They did every single thing on the list in the same day that I posted it.

From a gameplay perspective, this obviously is inspired by Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but I think this game stands up extremely well on its own. Being in the control room is significantly more fun than being the defuser in KTaNE, and the game itself feels more cohesive. The manual is also over 100 pages even though the game is in early access. The ktane manual is 23 pages. I’ve played it quite a bit already and I still feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface. The single player campaign helps to teach the game, and even puts the manual pages inside the game to make it easier to look things up, but playing multiplayer is certainly more fun.
