Sandwalkers

If you’re interested in Sandwalkers, please wishlist and follow us :)

Every decade, the Mka tribe sends caravans of adventurers into the Phithi, the meteorological chaos that keeps the Uwando tribes isolated from each other and makes life outside the refuges almost impossible.

Their mission: to establish diplomatic and trade relations, to explore and reclaim the lands left to the mercy of monsters and pirates, and, most importantly, to plant a new tree city that can become a refuge for the Mka and their allies. Regardless of the success or failure of their mission, the caravans must send the memories they have gained back to the capital, using the crystospheres carried by traveling beetles.

  • Guide a caravan of adventurers through ever-changing landscapes.

  • Fight and survive in the face of acid rain, sandstorms and heat waves.

  • Tame hostile creatures, rescue refugees, seek allies for mutual aid, or follow the blood path and loot everything you can.

  • Seek rich arable soil to plant a new tree city for your people.

  • Progress by passing on your knowledge to a new caravan.

  • Repair the broken climate, and put an end to centuries of wandering.

  • Make choices that will affect your future expeditions.

  • Each character has a different job that greatly influences the gameplay. It’s up to you to explore mythical ruins as an Archeologist, or track down huge beasts as a Hunter.

  • Don’t underestimate the weather! It influences the movements of the characters and the outcomes of confrontations.

Press Kit

Guide disgruntled guild leaders leaving their homelands to face the harsh Untamed Wilds. Row-based battles with arguing allies reward strategic play in this 16-bit JRPG.

Send the party out on expeditions into randomly determined Biomes, each with their own set of Monster mobs and unique boss encounters. Collect loot to exchange for gear, leveling the heroes as they succeed in progressively harder expeditions to moving their caravan deeper into the Wilds.

Can you deliver them safely to their new home?

Row Based Combat

Combat is a synthesis of turn based order with a row-based skill system. Your heroes each possess 6 unique skills that must be used cooperatively to overcome the myriad of monsters within the Untamed Wilds.

Narrative Based On Relationship Scores

As party members fight alongside each other relationships develop playing out in an ongoing narrative. Will the party overcome their differences and develop the trust necessary to achieve their goal or will the caravan breakup part way through the expedition?

Argument System

Each hero possesses an Argument meter that rises during fights. Be sure to monitor this score because if it gets too high they may refuse to help fight the monsters!

Swap Party Members Between Encounters

The party can only have four active combatants so feel free to swap in healthier party members after a rough fight! If a hero gets knocked out during an expedition they will automatically revive once the party gets back to the Caravan.

Unique Mini-boss and Boss Encounters

Each Biome possesses four mini-bosses and four unique bosses that must be overcome through the course of the caravan’s travels. Learn the attack patterns of each and how to use your party’s skills to overcome!

Tiny Strife

Tiny Strife

I have no idea why the game has no reviews… but now it will! First of: it is adorable! I like the cute design of everything. Also, it is turn based. So turn-based party RPG (I mean it says it above). You start with one character, but the higher you go: the more you unlock.

The game is… luck based. I lost on the first or second battle my first time around. Then when I showed my friend how bad I was at it: I completed 1-1 area! Afterwards I tried to lose, because if you do - there is a score that updates and you get new skills… so I actually won Chapter 1… Go figure!

Ragtag Crew

Ragtag Crew

You will lead a squad of scavengers on a venture across the wasteland in pursuit of profit, food and all sorts of cool stuff! Each character has a unique combination of class and personality, which will provide an unrepeatable (literally!) adventure.

Combat action breaks by short ironic events, during which the traits of the heroes are revealed, and your choices determine your own history of the squad. The pool of events is large, and personalities and classes can drastically change the outcomes.

Your enemies will be strong but predictable. You need to explore their flaws and quickly adapt to different enemy compositions.

  • Each run, choose 3 characters out of 8 classes (some unlockable). Experiment with synergies and party compositions to slay everyone in your way!

  • Every character can choose a personality from the 7 available (some unlockable). These influence their dialogue, battle capabilities, relationships, morale, stats, and overall style — but most importantly, they can drastically change the course of events.

  • The heart of the game lies in the tough tactical fights. The enemies are strong, but often have flaws to exploit. Adapt, improve, overcome!

  • Slay bosses… or sneak past. These large and unique enemies come with their own mechanics and storylines. The rewards may be game-changing — but are you in a good enough condition to take them on? Sometimes it’s smarter to walk past a fight.

  • As you progress through the game, more options become available.

  • Every node on the map offers a text event. A smart choice can grant you loot, help two characters form a bond, or hint at the deeper truth behind the events. An unsuccessful one might end in a disaster.

  • Over the course of an adventure the party members will grow to become friends… or bitter enemies. Nudge their stories to receive unique events and outcomes!

  • From cute baby lizards to passionate fighter-pilgrims, all kinds of characters may aid you on your journey.

  • A mixture of post-apoc, Westerns, and sci-fi creates a relatable yet original world. “Firefly meets Douglas Adams.”

  • Try again. Most bands of misfits fail — this is a roguelite, after all. But even failed runs bring progress in the form of unlockable classes, personalities, and items. You’ll be better equipped next time — and the game’s high variance offers high replayability.

Cardnarok: Raid with Gods

Cardnarok: Raid with Gods

Been looking around for some indie games and found this little gem. I love the theme and ideas behind this game especially with the choices of heroes from mythologies of all backgrounds.

The combat definitely requires strategical thinking, planning and careful calculation in order to level up fast and build decks that work with your team. At current state it’s quite playable and no bug that bricks the game experience.

The developers have been patching updates aggressively and that is a good sign.

Interesting take on the genre

The core loop is:

  • a string of StS-like maps

  • connected by a monopoly/Game of the Goose-inspired overworld

  • coupled with Rogue-lite Metaprogression

The combat is pretty standard with the caveat of 3 characters (with somewhat varying abilities) in “tag-team”

The Deckbuilding part follow the newer trend and allow the player a high degree of control over the resulting deck

Overall the game could use more polish and some extra content, but it’s a solid buy if you’re a bored deckbuilder.

Time Break Chronicles

Time Break Chronicles

Greetings one and All,

For those interested in this game here is my review on it.

Time Break Chronicles plays like an old school rpg game. Those who have played older rpgs would enjoy it but it’s not your typically rpg. Those fans of Final Fantasy VII or VII New Threat mods or Final Fantasy VI Brave New world would find great enjoyment in the challenges of this game. Most fights are about thinking. The balance of the game is rather well done despite how many characters you can choose from. As writing this review we are at 48 characters available. My highest loop on my best save is loop 20. This game is about planning stuff out. Learning enemies and bosses strategy and how they react to certain attacks.

Excellent game even in early access

It’s basically a JRPG meets rogue lite. You’re stuck in an endless dimensional loop and travel from node to node towards the end boss. Think Slay the spire map layout except horizontal instead of vertical. Entering a node drains stamina from each character in your party and lower stamina equals lower character stats

Your main character Claire is stuck in an endless loop in a strange dimension. From her own little pocket in this dimension, she travels the map, rescuing characters to strengthen her party while fighting a nefarious cult. There are 24 characters at present with more to come. While there is some overlap between characters, each offers unique abilities and you’re free to form your party in any way you like with the only requirement being that Claire is present. Claire has 3 forms, tank, dps and healer and while she is not as good in each role as more specialized characters, her jack of all trades and her ability to switch form at will even during combat, makes her very valuable

Looking for Heals

Looking for Heals

I have very mixed feelings about this game. I’ve enjoyed it a lot, so I’m going to recommend it, but it is not at all what I had been hoping for.

It has various issues due to development not being completed (balance issues, lack of endgame, lack of tooltips, and similar), but I’m not going to dwell on those. Hopefully they’ll all be addressed in coming updates.

My biggest issue with the game is that it doesn’t really feel much like MMO dungeon raid healing. It’s 85% commanding party members, 15% healing. The healing itself is FAR too simple. You choose a SINGLE healing ability at the start of each run, and that’s all you get for the rest of the run. Generally, healing is simply pointing your cursor at whoever happens to be hurt and spamming whichever Heal spell you have.

Real player with 25.3 hrs in game

As someone who is both an avid Roguelite player as well as an experienced MMO healer (2000+ hours in FFXIV) this game immediately caught my eye, and I figure I’m somewhat qualified to give a review after a little time with it. My overall impression of the game is that it has a fun gameplay loop, and captures the excitement (and frustration) of playing a dungeon in an MMO as a healer in a single player experience. However, there are certain issues with the game that leave me wanting more, and I almost feel that this game is more of an amazing proof of concept that is begging to be more fleshed out.
