Mini Healer

Mini Healer

Most of the early and middle of this game plays out like a puzzle game with grinding combined with an ARPG skill tree.

You’ll probably enjoy this enough for the price if you like the idea of a Diablo II skill tree and item style combined with bosses that each have unique mechanics.

I have seen a few streamers pick it up and hate it immediately because there are at least 2-3 hours of grinding before you actually get access to the interesting content of the game, and that’s if you recognize which builds are way better than the others and make fast progress. Even after that, there are a couple mostly-required grind walls.

Amazing. Better than you think.

So much better than it has any right to be. One of my favorite games in recent memory, and I still can’t quite believe it. I’m not much of an indie game / single dev game person. I like AAA titles and graphics. I don’t love MMOs, which are the obvious inspiration, here. I definitely wouldn’t have picked it up but for the reviews and the price tag.

Seriously, though, you should buy it. Even if you don’t like playing a healer in MMOs, it has the addictive theory-crafting and building of ARPGs like Grim Dawn or Path of Exile, but without any of the headaches of those or the MMOs. No quests, no fetching, and no penalties for build-testing. You can even save multiple builds and swap between them at will. It’s just boss after boss at your leisure. You can farm whatever boss you want and even have a different build and party setup for each boss.

Is a game that has a lot of problems If the heart does not really love it, suggest that you never play.

  • There is a problem with just starting to log in. Sometimes it will not check the stream and can not enter the game. This one is still easy to fix by deleting Delete Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ userdata \ 259069783 \ 881490, then it will give you a new stream link and access it.

  • But if it crosses the link itself and the button will be a little smaller by slightly shrinking the left and right sides This condition is as severe as I try, but I can’t fix it. I only need to re-install Windows.

Misunderstood by new players. Yes, you can “speed up” the starring of your epic heroes with money. However, there are equalizing heroes at the common and uncommon range that level the playing field with strategy and knowledge of the game. New players just get pounded in because they can’t be bothered to figure it out. Knowing which common and uncommon heroes to invest in as a f2p player (buying stones up to 5k gold on the shop every day) in conjunction with knowing which SuperRare/Epic heroes you want to funnel stones into (tower/missions-never waste on a common/uncommon hero even if they are preferred) is what makes a player. Is it possible for somoene to spend thousands of dollars to star up a tough epic hero? Absolutely. We called those guys a “JimRen” when I was dinging up as a f2p having to vs him. He was the iconic p2w and he never did any pve content, leveling as slowly as possible by beating up on f2p players in pvp and nothing else. One of the best moments in the game for me was when I used 4-5* common heroes in the 46~ range to beat his 7* epic and SR heroes. Literal thousands of dollars spent, defeated by some game knowledge and strategy. Don’t whine about p2w when you don’t understand the game.

Krater

Krater

Krater: Shadows over Solside is a Top-down, Action-RPG developed and published by fatshark – pushed out of the gate in late-Spring 2012. Its reception was largely mixed – due to bugs, unfinished content and a lack of any sort of co-op mode. But how does it hold up five years down the line?

Story

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Sweden after the ‘Untergang.’ You take control over a bunch of mercenaries looking to make their mark on this new world. Their misadventures take to us to Solside – which perilously hangs over the Krater – a seemingly endless abyss that draws those from all over to seek its riches and possibly their demise in the process.

An unpolished turd. Numerous crashes to desktop while trying to navigate inventory or upgrade characters. Horrid pathing AI. So bad, that during some fights team members will suddenly run off up stairs and cause a wipe. Sometimes getting halfway across a map before realizing ONE member just decided to stand in place, even while still being highlighted as part of the moving group. Quests that cannot be finished because you happened to enter a dungeon prior to receiving the quest and kill the boss (everything else respawns, why can’t this?!), leaving numerous inventory slots full of quest items that cannot be dropped. Frequent battles where one or two of your group just stand there. Even after repeatedly retargeting. Had an entire group wipe (4800Kr to heal the group which can take hours to recoup) because the bruiser couldn’t seem to get to the target I selected for his grenade, and didn’t want to attack any other target when selected. Hours of time required to grind in order to upgrade characters in order to progress to a new area without wiping the team. Very little variety in dungeons. Unable for some reason most of the time to get the cursor to view other parts of dungeons and centering with space bar not actually showing ongoing battle made for frequent blind fights. Craft your own weapons? Cool, except that once you’re able to get far enough to purchase a new blueprint, it is already so underpowered as to be useless and a waste of crafting materials. Sellers have no indication whether or not the blueprints they have are already known, and to even check you either have to alt+tab out and check your own notes, or exit the seller and run over to the crafting table to check, then run back and forth repeatedly as most people do not have photographic memories. Selling back those expensive blueprints gives a 90% loss of value. Blueprint listing isn’t even entirely alphabetical. It’s like they did half of them, then added the other half also alphabatized but didn’t bother to collate them together. Oh, and for some reason the actionable area of the mouse pointer is well below the tip of the arrow (like halfway down the arrow), causing significant frustration early on trying to figure out why I couldn’t select anything. Then in Alces Hollow my ranged crowd control Regulator decided he’s going to start fighting point blank or not at all, thereby becoming two-hit toast in EVERY FIGHT.

Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper quickly hooks player attention with an effectively deployed progression system, and does a fine job in offering multiple avenues to keep engagement levels high. While enjoyable for the most part, its grindy nature can render it tiresome, and the current lack of proper side quests beyond feats leaves something to be desired. Still, it’s a good debut, and a fresh ambassador for the RPG genre that leaves a lasting impression by defying convention.

Really nice, and fast paced; monster-catching strategy RPG. The game has aspects of idle-game style gameplay, however the strategy comes from squad optimisation, gear socketing, and order placement (there are ‘row bonuses’ available, but those’re kinda beyond me at the current time of writing, lol).

I made a fairly in-depth, but still very early, impressions video; available here:

Really looking forward to discovering more monsters, and more strategic optimisation in the hours and days to follow.

Really nice game. Bought it just because of the screenshots showing the different coloured loot but instead I was surprised with good music, good gameplay, and just a really fun game. The biggest surprise was the Dark Souls type leveling and then on top of that there is some Demon’s Souls influence with teleporting to different areas and completing them. Or it felt like that at least. Throw in some Borderlands and you have something cool like this. It’s a short game but you can do more playthroughs after completing the game to look for secrets you might have missed. Give it a try.

Everblood Arena

Everblood Arena

Everblood Arena is a turn-based roguelite tactics arena battler with a heavy focus on procedural generated items and character builds. Get your team of fantasy warriors and take part in 5v5 tactical turn based battles. Rise your way up the ranks and claim the greatest prize, the Everblood Cup!

item randomization

Item randomization is a huge part of Everblood’s design philosophy. A huge array of spells & modifiers exist and items through a myriad of algorithms will mix and match these so that each piece of gear comes with it’s own skill tree & modifiers. Make tactical choices between leveling up your character’s Strength, or leveling up his Fiery Sword of the Helmsplitter to unlock it’s epic quality rank 3 spell.

This doesn’t just stop at items though! Character’s will also be randomly generated, with a small variety of races, each containing their own smaller skill tree’s with lots of attribute randomization.

Our hope is that this focus on randomization and creating a rogue-lite atmosphere will add lots of replay-ability and create dynamically changing character builds.

a Roguelite?

We intend to add roguelite elements to Everblood, with characters sustaining meaningful injuries (and potential death!) from getting knocked out in combat, we expect players to have to recruit new hero’s as theirs die, slowly adapting their tactics and equipment to fit the strength’s of their randomly generated character team. Our hope is that each run of Everblood will be a multi-hour affair, with difficulty changing drastically based on your starting roster & the generated teams you come up against

i mean its not intended to be a game that you play over anything what so ever else :P this game is meant to be a easy demand on hardware background auto go and pop in during load times or ques inside other games and for that it is indeed nice once you get so far it became the typical mobile rpg esk game could even compaire to afk arena outside hero collecting dailies to get stonger and having everything time gated so you cant progress. the comments for this game say its bad because its p2w but not any worse than any other mobile game really :/ you can deff play f2p just wont have shiny mounts but power you gain from mounts will match with enogh days logged into the game same with all other machanics of the game it seems. i feel like most of the rage in the ratings for the game are caused because of the players having expectations for the game to be a diffrent kind of game lol like they thought it would be a actual mmorpg and its not its a mobile mmo and for what it is not bad just pull up ff14 or what ever your poison is and set this game to auto run itself before long you will be onto the dailies stuff :) worth a look at if nothing else :)

This is pretty cool.

Reasonable voice acting.

Combat and level design definitely have room for improvement.

If you are into retro style rpgs, this is priced just right for an evening or two of entertainment.

The Labyrinth in a Game where you go in and create a team in which you would go into a dungeon and attempt to make it to the bottom. Its fairly easy (I have played it on hard mode) and there are many different possibilities for the room to be. Overall its a fun game and I’ll be putting more Hours into this and There can be so much more in Future updates.

I recommend the game.

This game has potential and places to grow and branch out, from different monster types to abilities. I was always a fan of these minimalistic game designs that just let you pass the time without having to stress over it.

At first the game seemed like a handful, lots of information but it turned out more simple and fluent in its controls than it seems. Sure its clunky and has some bugs, but is it worth its price? Sure it is! And if you still doubt if you want to buy it check it out on one of the many websites that its on for free!

Dungeon Siege

Dungeon Siege

Dungeon Siege 1 is a very simple game in terms of gameplay. Meditative action without guts covering the whole battlegroud, plus some actions with your items, such as changing your equipement, reading a few books, and walking through the game in a rather thin corridor…

…would say someone and, despite that description works, that won’t be true in placing the accents.

Most noticeable part is the party work. Every character has only a little of story, but… you can play from a point of view from any of them, just as with your hero - you can even give a boot to your created character and beat the rest of the game just with your conpanions without hero! You can specify their roles, formations in groups, actions of each other like “to seek and destroy anyone” or “not to fight even when attacked”. It reveals you some interesting cases, nearly impossible in other games, such as “you are a healer, all others are stunned, so you run around, heal one, but get stunned instead, so he runs around instead, trying to rise someone else”… or “companions form a group around dragon by themselves, so you don’t need to correct their formation at all”. Yes, there were flaws, like, the big parties could not by themselves stand together on a lift, so you have to move some of them. But it’s still amazing how simple and at the same time workind that solution is, so you can imagine, how it was 17 years ago!

[My steam total is much less than I’ve actually played since you can play offline without Steam connection. EDIT: Game is of quite sufficient length. Longest mazes I’ve ever played.]

Fun game from 2002. I started as a huge Diablo 2 fan. I’m catching up and enjoying the era of now-cheap RPG/action games before upgrading my system to run more modern games. Just so I don’t spend before I really need to. (currently a Radeon X-600) This includes the Dungeon Siege series + Fallout, Torment, Torchlight 1/2, Baldur’s Gate, Titan Quest, Morrowind, Oblivion …before hitting Skyrim, D3, etc. Bottom line: In many ways, this fits in the older era. – So, those are your ganeral Action/RPG + hack/slash comparisons.
