No More Rainbows

No More Rainbows

No More Rainbows is a first person VR platformer with unique locomotion that really focuses on the core before anything else. We thought there was something missing in the VR space when it comes to platformers, there’s amazing titles out there, but we wanted that classic Super Mario, Super Meat Boy, or Rayman feel. We decided to make it instead.

No More Rainbows uses the user’s hands and arms as the main locomotion, and you use this mechanic to walk, run, jump and climb basically anywhere you want through different worlds to explore and dozens of levels to play through.

You are The Beast. Since time immemorial you have served as Warden of the Underworld, passing the eternities in a peaceful slumber.

You are suddenly awoken by the sound of horribly joyful melodies piercing the warm darkness. The ashen air now reeks of tulip perfume. The once burning magma floor tiles now feel lush and fresh under your claws. The shrines to the Ancient Ones have been desecrated with childish chalk drawings festooned with nauseating smiley faces.

Behind this commotion are beings of infinite joy and happiness. Mister Bizoux and his merry band of Huggletz are on a quest to take over your sanctuary of screams and turn it into a bountiful paradise where cries of pain and torment are replaced by kisses and rainbows…what a nightmare!

Using an arm based locomotion method, you must spring forth into this fantastical virtual reality platforming world and reclaim your home!

You’ll be able to smash through 3 different worlds, such as the Happy Lands and Calori-fornia. If you ever had a dream where Super Meat Boy had a child with Super Mario Bros. and then brought it into VR, you’d get No More Rainbows.

  • Unique arm based locomotion allows you to play the game however you see fit, any and all surfaces are climbable.

  • A story mode with 3 different explorable worlds and over 45 increasingly challenging levels.

  • Compete against the world for the best times! No More Rainbows features in-depth global leaderboards for completionists and speedrunning enthusiasts.

  • Epic Boss levels that will challenge your skills.

Amazing game that is great for anyone who loves platformers and a must buy for anyone who likes the outrun style. I have to admit having the best level first mayyyy have not been the smartest idea but i enjoyed the game all the way through and the ending was great! I hope to see sequel if this game does good and am looking forward to returning for the time trials and possibly the DLCs (wink). 10/10 would and have recommended.

Fech The Ferret - a colorful parkour adventure

Fech The Ferret - a colorful parkour adventure

Fech is a pink ferret who enjoys running around and discovering new places. Lead him in his first adventure in the region of Marmocle, he’ll meet friendly animals to help out.

Inspired by high speed platformers and EDM, this colorful game will captivate you with its unique soundtrack and sense of flow. The gameplay takes place in interconnected zones, kind of like big thematic levels, but naturally jointed to shape up a small but nuanced open world. Inside these zones the player can parkour to try reach the end as quickly as possible by discovering new high-skill routes, or rather choose to take on the nearby challenges, such as ones posed by other animals and rhythm arae: these are temple-like cave levels entirely focused on rhythmic challenges while still adhering to the racing and platforming roots of the game.

Fech The Ferret especially caters to those who gotta go fast and would rather climb walls than do precise platforming, but you can also enjoy it at your own pace and explore this rich world in search of secrets, or perhaps chat with some Marmocleans.

The story starts as Fech gets woken up from a peaceful sleep by an earthquake. He hasn’t gotten to Marmocle by accident, but he knows barely anything about this land. Bothered, clueless and with a runny nose, he runs away from the forest and its evil pollen in search for answers and other animals. He will soon find one who will not leave his side, but we have yet to decide whether this peculiar round bird is a bliss or a menace for him.

Boomerang X

Boomerang X

Boomerang X is an insanely fast paced fling and zing game.

I see a lot of people leaving reviews saying that they are upset with the fact the base game takes only 2 hours to beat.

What they always fail to mention is that those 2 hours are packed to the brim with just about all the content you need. The arguably short playtime required means the game will never feel dull and every 10 minutes or so you will be introduce with a new environment, possibly new ability, and more knowledge on how to beat the next level. It’s addicting to go through the motions of progressing in this game which is why I think it’s so appealing to speedrunning.

$20 for such a short game is fairly steep (1-3 hours with New Game+), so I can only recommend this game to anyone interested in speed running and gyro. I’d honestly put this game at $5 - $10 max regardless of it being a speed run game. The only reason I paid the full $20 was because of Flick Stick.

An issue I’ve seen brought up is that Flux (slow motion) is too strong. You can use it every time you throw the boomerang. This feels like it was balanced for New Game+ as enemy density basically forces you to constantly use it. Since there is a super meter in the game (Comet Mode), I think there is an obvious solution. Make it so taking out enemies not only fills Comet Mode but using Flux will also drain it. Since the game was made for speed running though, I don’t think any changes will be made to Flux.

Cyber Dodge

Cyber Dodge

A relaxing precision platformer that includes some 80’s style synth music. The design is simplistic but it looks cool with the different neon colors. The last level is probably where I spent most of the time playing this game, had to lose like 500 times to beat it.

For the amount of levels I would say the full price is a little too high, you can get games with much more gameplay content for 5€. On sale, it is worth it though. I would recommend getting it full price if dev decides to add more levels and maybe achievements too.

My amazing experiences was fun and cannot be described in words. Challenging at times but love see option where we could change the ball to use for cosmetic purposes. Has Tron feel and makes you think as dodge your way through simple to challenging levels. Thank you NKVN Games opportunity to demonstrate their game.

Refunct

Refunct

6 hours of playtime out of a fifteen minute game (without speedrunning) , which is still going by the day.

This game has an fantastic momentum based movement system that makes getting around the map fun, almost so much so that it rivals Mirrors Edge and Titanfall 2 for how thrilling it is to control.

Just get it, it is so much fun just to chain together wall jump combos, slide out of every jump, and create your own path through everything. When you add the amazing atmosphere, music, day/night cycle, achievements, and stunning lighting and visuals then you get what is the main purpose of playing this game. But it doesn’t end there…

Intro

Refunct is a very refreshing and fluid experience. For such a short game, it was satisfying to play and was definitely worth the 1.50$ spent. It feels like thought and effort went into making it, and that immediately sets it apart the bad apples that comes through Greenlight.

–————————————————————

Presentation

Refunct is a 3D parcour platformer at the same time it has a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere.

Refunct immediately puts you into the game when you start it up. But that’s okay because the game doesn’t need to annoy you with any tutorial, the mechanics are easy to learn on your own.

Severed Steel

Severed Steel

This is an awesome experience. It’s been a long time since an action game has given me the kind of rush that this one does. The great action-movie mechanics, the incredible soundtrack and the wonderful stylised art all come together to make an experience straight out of kickass action films. If you want to squeeze every last drop out of this game I HIGHLY recommend playing this on Severed Steel difficulty from the start. It’ll frustrate you at first, it’ll take a while to get the hang of it, but when it finally clicks and you start pulling off and chaining together ridiculously cool combat stunts, that’s when the “wow” factor and adrenaline rush kick in hard. Playing on any of the lower difficulties (especially Cold Steel) will drastically dull the experience, and you’ll finish the game in two to three hours with absolutely no challenge and very little thrill. Then for replayability, run the challenges at similar difficulty levels and try to beat your own score. Then there are the modifiers for even more fun. It’s not as easy as it sounds. This is NOT your standard first person shooter. Don’t bother with cover and don’t try to snipe from a distance. Charge in like Doom Guy and kick off some stunts, dodge and weave, and destroy your enemies in a beautiful dance of ninja acrobatics and explosive Gun Fu. Flow like water, and kill them all!

Real player with 10.1 hrs in game

Did you ever wonder what if Max Payne was a woman who lost her arm and she was taking acid instead of painkillers?

Severed Steel is exactly that.

It’s a high-octane movement shooter that rewards the player for perfoming stunts like diving, sliding and wallrunning with invincibility and infinite slow-mo. Don’t expect tactiful gunfighs like in F.E.A.R. where you use slow-mo mostly when you feel overwhelmed, here you throw yourself at your enemies to live. You can’t sidestep individual bullets like in Max Payne or Super Hot, you have rely on stunts to dodge. Healing is done by killing people, so it’s like Doom but without the middle-man.

BSurfing

Pretty good game, fun mechanics, but the only thing I miss is more content. At this stage in this game’s development, the game lacks the amount of content that is necessary to keep the player engaged for more than a few days. But still pretty fun, especially for a game in this stage of development.
