Bound Up & Squirming!

Bound Up & Squirming!

Bought it during a sale, and what seemed like a joke game turned out to be quite the challenging platformer.

It starts to get a bit frustrating in some levels around midway through the campaign - just when I thought I got good at it, the game whoops my ass.

It’s good in short bursts as a side activity while listening to/watching something, otherwise it might get a bit too frustrating (though, obviously, your mileage may vary)

Its a fun, simple, polished little game where what you see is what you get. It’s made by the same guy as Mount your Friends and Mount your Friends 3D and the similarities are obvious like the non traditional platforming and character design. I’ve been spending a fair amount of time with the game while listening to streams or podcasts which it has been perfect for. Bound Up & Squirming has offered me strong simple gameplay mechanics and fair challenge I’ll probably play it all the way through which has become more of a rarity with the large amount of games being released every month. If you have Mount your Friends 3D you should have automatically gotten a coupon for the game that takes off a dollar or so to the games already small price point. The game is far beyond worth the price of admission especially since it’s $5.69 Canadian. Check it out if you want something simple and fun to play while consuming other entertainment or are interested in weird platformers.

Pretty good game, fun mechanics, but the only thing I miss is more content. At this stage in this game’s development, the game lacks the amount of content that is necessary to keep the player engaged for more than a few days. But still pretty fun, especially for a game in this stage of development.

Watch the 2nd video on the store page; you’ve now seen 80% of this game’s content, except for the buggy as fuck ‘reversed controls’ ice section in the last level. It’s 3 demo levels that you can finish in 20 minutes or less while meaningless achievements pop up.

The Mirror’s Edge style level is amusing since wall running is spammable, though.

Wow, this is a fun game! Easy to play, really tests your reflexes and timing, and lots to unlock. For the price point you can’t go wrong.

Hey, this is a pretty fun and simple game. I found it because I was looking for space-themed games, and while this isn’t exactly what I had in mind, it gets some of the color palette aesthetics right. You play as a little emoji that rolls and rockets itself along an endlessly sloping, rolling landscape. You build momentum by pushing your mouse button when you’re on a downward slope or (rare) flat surface, then you release it on the rising slopes to launch yourself. You get a nice little bounding action going, and collect coins while you go through the air or roll on the ground. Hit the ground too hard, and you lose all your momentum, ending your run.

#### Gameplay

Use fun and experimental controls to roll ball frog around awesome environments!

Use Ball Frogs tongue as a grappling hook to grab, swing and fling Ball Frog through the map!

Check Points are used so you don’t loose progress and will save your checkpoint for the next time you play.

Since this game uses physics a lot, we have many mechanics that can bounce, swing and even pop you as you play through the game.

#### Story

Ball Frog and his froggy friends enjoyed lazing around and eating flies and playing in the swamp all day long. That was until the flies started disappearing. The fly god was not happy about the flies being eaten so he captures all the frogs apart from one. Ball Frog. It is up to you to Roll, Swing and Jump your way to the fly god and save your froggy friends!

#### Cosmetics

The in game currency “Flies” can be collected throughout the game and can be spent in the shop to buy cosmetic hats and skins!

Broll is a relatively short game, but it packs itself full of fun. The ragdoll mechanic looks very hard to control, but is extremely well executed. Some checkpoints are easy, and some very difficult, but they’re all doable. I hope more levels are coming! Well worth the price, on sale or not.

PANZER BALL

PANZER BALL

Great game. Movement feels smooth, online is easy to use (no private lobbies atm), and a map creator is in the works. Active discord run by the dev who is involved with the community.

It has some physics quirks. Sometimes you hit the ground, bounce strangely and lose all speed. Your fps has a slight effect on how your ball interacts with the map (e.g. 60 fps feels a little slippery for me, but 144 is fine), though in my experience one can do perfectly fine competing for top times at 144. These issues generally don’t affect gameplay too much.

This game should not cost money. I was lucky enough to experience this game when it was free. I wish the developer kept going with this game, it had a community, and it had so much potential. When the editor was released it was amazing, that momentum could have kept the game growing. Instead of the game costing money, there should be skins or a way to donate to the developer. Featured levels, weekly levels, gauntlets, time challenges, this game has so much potential, it’s sad to see the developer ignore it. If this game was still free I would fully recommend it, but I just cant recommend as of now.

personally i love this game i have spent well over 100 hours and i still play it almost every day. it takes some time to learn the controls and even longer to master. the game is still very early in its development and i know that there is lots of stuff coming in the future like diving and more props to play around with. I would 100% recommend using a gamepad for this game otherwise its going to be very hard to play.

What an amazing game.

I’ve been looking for a gymnastics physics game that allows you to really grind and develop skills/routines. The real game begins when you start playing the user created levels from the workshop. The discord community is great an ultimately is the game of choice for gymnasts and gymnastics fanatics alike. I’ve waited so long for a game like this, and I’m so happy it came.
