Bound Up & Squirming!
Bought it during a sale, and what seemed like a joke game turned out to be quite the challenging platformer.
It starts to get a bit frustrating in some levels around midway through the campaign - just when I thought I got good at it, the game whoops my ass.
It’s good in short bursts as a side activity while listening to/watching something, otherwise it might get a bit too frustrating (though, obviously, your mileage may vary)

Its a fun, simple, polished little game where what you see is what you get. It’s made by the same guy as Mount your Friends and Mount your Friends 3D and the similarities are obvious like the non traditional platforming and character design. I’ve been spending a fair amount of time with the game while listening to streams or podcasts which it has been perfect for. Bound Up & Squirming has offered me strong simple gameplay mechanics and fair challenge I’ll probably play it all the way through which has become more of a rarity with the large amount of games being released every month. If you have Mount your Friends 3D you should have automatically gotten a coupon for the game that takes off a dollar or so to the games already small price point. The game is far beyond worth the price of admission especially since it’s $5.69 Canadian. Check it out if you want something simple and fun to play while consuming other entertainment or are interested in weird platformers.

Frog Climbers
General:
Rating: E
Price: $6.99
Genre: Local Multiplayer, Parkour?
Time played: 18.1 hours
Challenge your friends to climb a mountain. That’s pretty much it, select a frog and climb to the top faster/better than your friends.
Gameplay - 7
You select a frog, so does everyone else. Then you climb to the top of the mountain. You control both arms of the frog and choose when to grab or release things. You can climb up using whatever you can find, vines with rocks, ledges, other frogs. Sometimes you have to use gravity to your advantage, swinging along to try and move up. It’s really a physics based game.

Frog Climbers is a new indie game made by a team of four called TeamCrew and published by Plug In Digital. The game began production back in March of 2015, where it went on to win best execution in design and gamer’s choice award. It is now set to release on steam on October 6th.
The game is a local multiplayer party game made for up to four players. That’s right local, there is no online play whatsoever… unless you count the leader board times when you are playing the solo daily speedruns. Having no online component does seem to kill the playtime when playing with friends. I brought a few of my friends over to play the game and test out how well we would do. While we did have fun, it was short lived ending the game session after a little over an hour. We enjoyed our time with the game but there is really only so much fun you can have with a game where the only objective of it is to get to the top of one of 260 randomized mountains.

No More Rainbows
No More Rainbows is a first person VR platformer with unique locomotion that really focuses on the core before anything else. We thought there was something missing in the VR space when it comes to platformers, there’s amazing titles out there, but we wanted that classic Super Mario, Super Meat Boy, or Rayman feel. We decided to make it instead.
No More Rainbows uses the user’s hands and arms as the main locomotion, and you use this mechanic to walk, run, jump and climb basically anywhere you want through different worlds to explore and dozens of levels to play through.
You are The Beast. Since time immemorial you have served as Warden of the Underworld, passing the eternities in a peaceful slumber.
You are suddenly awoken by the sound of horribly joyful melodies piercing the warm darkness. The ashen air now reeks of tulip perfume. The once burning magma floor tiles now feel lush and fresh under your claws. The shrines to the Ancient Ones have been desecrated with childish chalk drawings festooned with nauseating smiley faces.
Behind this commotion are beings of infinite joy and happiness. Mister Bizoux and his merry band of Huggletz are on a quest to take over your sanctuary of screams and turn it into a bountiful paradise where cries of pain and torment are replaced by kisses and rainbows…what a nightmare!
Using an arm based locomotion method, you must spring forth into this fantastical virtual reality platforming world and reclaim your home!
You’ll be able to smash through 3 different worlds, such as the Happy Lands and Calori-fornia. If you ever had a dream where Super Meat Boy had a child with Super Mario Bros. and then brought it into VR, you’d get No More Rainbows.
-
Unique arm based locomotion allows you to play the game however you see fit, any and all surfaces are climbable.
-
A story mode with 3 different explorable worlds and over 45 increasingly challenging levels.
-
Compete against the world for the best times! No More Rainbows features in-depth global leaderboards for completionists and speedrunning enthusiasts.
-
Epic Boss levels that will challenge your skills.

Ben and Ed
About the bugs:
Now that the game is almost a year old, Ben and Ed has gone through quite a few bug fixes in order to make it playable and enjoyable. As of now, I haven’t encountered a single problem in my most recent playthrough, which means that the developers have done a great job fixing all the minor bugs that still popped up every now and then. I have unlocked every single achievement during my playthrough, so I can confirm that all the achievement related bugs (Blockbuster) have been fixed aswell. Luckily, I have never experienced any visual or hardware related bugs, which means that I can’t confirm anything related to that subject.

I can’t say I had a good time with this game. The clunky controls and terrible framerate make the game unpleasant almost all the way through. In terms of the levels and level design, at the end of almost every level, I found myself thinking something along the lines of “Meh, that was okay I guess,” only 2 or 3 times did I finish a level thinking “Wow, that was actually fun, can the next level be that fun please?” only to be met with a level that was below my already low expectations. Simply put, I’d say about 60% of levels were meh, 20% were good, and 20% were horrible.

Right off the bat, the port is a bit of a mess, so here are a couple of tips:
-
If the game outright doesn’t start, include the .exe (or the entire game folder) in your antivirus AND firewall exceptions.
-
There is a “corrupted save” bug that has persisted since launch. Even if you’ve never played the game before, it will warn you of corrupted save data. Even if you deleted them, they will reappear on your next launch. Additionally, you can’t manually save or load, or the game will crash. The reason for this is that the game doesn’t play well with Steam Cloud. Disable Steam Cloud from the game’s Steam properties window, then go to “C:/Users/ username /AppData/Local/Sunset/Saves/ id " and delete “steam_autocloud.vdf”. This should fix the problem with both dummy corrupted save data and your own save data getting corrupted. It will also allow manual saving and loading. /id /username

Vaccine Delivery Simulator
Recommended… but with cautions.
Pros:
-
Well, it’s short and casual. Some nice light fluff to play between open-world games.
-
It’s an indie game. Support the indies!
-
It’s cheap: I paid about a buck per hour for its entertainment, and I’d say that’s about right.
-
It has some nice Russian flavor to it.
-
There’s a decent number of levels (30-odd?): it finishes just about when you’re sick of it and wishing it would end.
-
Achievement hunters can be confident all achievements work and can be obtained in 3 hours or less.

Balconing Simulator 2020
Overall it’s not terrible for what it is; a quick and silly little time-waster.
One thing I could point out is that you have very little control over the direction of your jump, which doesn’t really leave you with much influence on whether or not you land in the water.
This means that there isn’t much of a skill ceiling to this game, and you end up just jumping repeatedly until you get a good result.
It was entertaining enough for the time I spent with it, but I can’t imagine getting much more out of it.

An utterly ridiculous concept for a game, but a highly amusing one nonetheless!
Get drunk (or don’t, but then you don’t get multiplier points!), jump off a balcony and do your best to nail your very best landing in to the pool, assuming you even make it in the pool. If you want to do it with real style then aim to land in the rubber ring (I managed it in this video, eventually - https://youtu.be/gNOK_Q2LCiI )
Be prepared for some painful landings, some face plants and more. Trust me, after playing this game you’ll definitely NEVER consider doing this in real life. Hopefully you never were in the first place!
