Running Rogue

Running Rogue

Our hero is a thief who flirted with death and stole one of her most powerful artifacts - time gloves. Failing to cope with their power, the thief finds himself in a dungeon of souls. Determined, he climbs the tower to give battle to death and recover his humanity!

Freedom of Movement

At each level, you decide for yourself how you act. You’ll run away beating up enemies or find detours and take advantage of your surroundings. Scramble on ledges, run through walls, slide on the floor and jump!

Dynamic Battles

You move fast, and your attacks and block are instant. A variety of enemies will check your reaction and will not let you stand still.

Time - Life!

The faster you pass the level and deal with the enemies the more health you can make up for.

Plenty of Abilities and Improvements

Pass through levels, defeat bosses to get the chance to choose from a variety of random improvements. Choose what you need now. Restore health, increase attack strength or improve your parkour skills. After another death, discover new upgrades and abilities that will make you stronger each time and bring you closer to the top of the tower and to defeating death!

Random Levels

The levels are generated randomly. Each passing will differ from the previous one. You will never know what enemies, obstacles and traps will be waiting for you in the next room.

Three Parts of the Tower

The tower is divided into three parts: Dungeon, Limb and Gardens.

Each part of the tower differs in its visual style, obstacles, set of enemies and bosses.

Only the most resourceful and skillful will deceive death!

The game still feels somewhat unfinished, but they actually fixed the combat so that it’s fun again. That, and the amazing mod support means that I can’t but recommend the game. It’s a bit pricey, but it offers some of the most satisfying melee combat ever seen in a game. Perhaps even more satisfying than Dark Souls or the like. Despite it’s tragic state after a ridiculously long development time, it’s a cult classic and one of my favorite games for a simple reason; The combat is so good. It’s my go-to I-wanna-clap-some-people-to-death-or-die-trying game. If you love melee action combat games like me, you can’t pass this game.

Amazing. I got this from Humble Monthly, installed it, and in one sitting completed the main story. Now it’s 3 in the morning and I’m writing a review. The main story is indeed 3 hours long, but it held my attention by being so fun to play and look at that it passed by way too fast! I haven’t gotten to try the other 2 stories yet, but I can say a few things about the game, and from now on, I’ll be referencing the main story.

The good:

  • Movement: it’s amazing. There’s so many ways to get around, it feels so fluid to get from place to place, and the best part: Moving around is FUN! If I can have fun just getting from place to place, it’s a game I’ll enjoy. I’ve seen a couple reviews saying that the movement doesn’t do what you want it to do, but I just don’t see that in this game. Everything is spot on. Whenever the character did something wrong, it was always my fault, not the game.

Gladio

Gladio

Gladio has a satisfying gore mechanic and unique fighting system. The game does have its issues though, blocking sometimes does not activate at all and kicking sends enemies through the map or past the invisible wall where I cannot reach them, forcing me to restart. Overall this game is a blast and it will surely develop further into an awesome game in the future, but for now you should avoid kicking!

Recommendations:

-More weapons and maybe a shield

-The ability to mix and match armor

-The option to choose which enemies spawn

Real player with 7.9 hrs in game

When first looking at Gladio one might think it is a tiny fighting game with with no real ingame progress and attacks that could seriously use some work. You would not be wrong. The player is in a small-ish box and has to fight enemies, the only progress is watching the wave counter go up, and attacks can seem quite stupid at times.

Still, this game can be a lot of fun when you lack something to do. Add some bounce or whatever music floats your boat (the game has no soundtrack), and you are in for half an hour of adrenaline while trying to crack that level 3 armor.

Time To Stop Time

Time To Stop Time

This game is SERIOUSLY fun. You start off with super-slow-mo that lets you deflect human enemies' bullets back at them, and it goes from there. You ramp up with full time-stopping, telekinesis for having Fun With Physics (hint: it can be faster to THROW rockets at people than to just LAUNCH them), and a super-mode that turns it completely into Dio Simulator (complete with steamroller).

A story, to show you what’s possible in this game:

It’s the end of the world. I’m fighting a speedster. I unload at him point-blank with a minigun, but he dodges every shot. We keep fighting, keep clashing, moving through the level so I can grab more weapons to use on him. Then I notice – oh hey, hovering over there, those are the bullets from before. So I manoeuvre him, get him to stand with his back to the bullets… and I timeskip to make them all shoot him in the back at once. He goes down, and the day is saved.

this game is fun, the only level that bugs me rignt now is the one with the big red robot, 2 helicopters, 4-6 enemies with lightsabers, and a tank with 4 people. its too hard for my liking, you dont have enought energy, and the robots/ people with lightsabers are too OP. not only you do you have to avoid the big red robot, and the people with lightsabers that shoot blue forcefields, you have to worry about your energy,

Well the day has finally come, launch day! I’ve been helping out playtesting this game for a while now and It’s great to see how far it has come since the very first day I got my hands on it.

The game has quite a lot of levels, that being 40 levels across 8 worlds. The later worlds are usually longer and pretty tough mind you! So it’s welcoming to have a sort of challenge that gets progressively harder as you get further into the game. Furthermore the worlds has a very neat addition of interconnection between them. At the last level of the Pure world, you will start seeing trees and woodlands, leading up to the next Woodlands world. And the same for the end of Woodlands where you see a castle in the distance, etc. It’s a tiny thing but it really enhances the game experience!

Challenging! I love challenging.

This game is just what I’ve been looking for. A game to practise your skill at platforming and shooting targets that are NOT other life forms.

The controls seem to work well and I appreciate, as always, the option to change the key bindings for individual preference.

While you do get a better score for being fast, there’s nothing stopping you working your way through each level at your own pace. This makes it a more relaxing experience if that’s how you’d rather play. Though it can still be frustrating when you keep falling off, until you get good at it. Practise and patience makes perfect.

So keep in mind that this game is in Alpha. And it will stay in Alpha for about another 6-9 months from what I heard. So far I have played a few hours and I have some honest reviews and predictions for this game.

Current State: The UI is simple and easy to navigate. Character customization in minimal but keep in mind its early and the developers are working night and day to make this game perfect. Maps are basic and textures are a little bland (keep in mind the engine that this game is running on allows for so much room for improvement (think rocketleague looks, then transport them here). On screen displays, such as goals, points, and descriptions of what is going on are super basic but get the point accross for now. Some textures are placeholders, for example 2 of the guns are not finsihed yet and have a chrome look place holder. The audio in the game has room to improve as well, Some sounds in the game could be improved such as music, (or lack there of) there isnt alot of background noise, there is some fan cheers in the background ,sometimes, which is a nice touch, but if they can add more things like that it would be a huge improvement. This might sound like a lot but trust me there is so much potenital in this game.
