Open World Game: the Open World Game
For a free game made as a parody of open world RPGs, this is surprisingly coherent and fun. It gets right the joy of discovery that open world games try to offer, but in a stripped-down package that ends up distilling it down to just the cool parts of the experience. Reading through the journal is almost a game in itself and gives this more depth than I thought I’d find. And it doesn’t overstay its welcome; you can 100% it in a couple of hours. It’s worth the time.
Sadly, I can’t say the same about the DLC (which I bought to support the designer, since the core game was free). The combat feels kind of half-baked and unbalanced, not least of which because it seems to want to introduce a sense of urgency in your presses but is just as untimed as the core game. There are two different arrow tracks you can match, but there is no advantage to interacting with both. The skill tree has no interaction with combat even though many of the skills are explicitly combat-flavored. Progression is frightfully grindy; the entire base game can be 100%ed in a few hours, and the DLC’s final boss (with 50 health bars!) is by himself a 1+ hour fight, with the whole hour spent playing the same arrow-match minigame that’s long since grown tedious as you kill monsters to buff up. It’s like the designer suddenly forgot what made the base game fun.

Overview:
‘Open World Game: the Open World Game’ is a play on open-world games and displays it in the form of a radar you would typically see in again, an open-world game. The whole game is played in this format and is quite hilarious when you first start playing because you’re literally playing on the radar. The game takes a lot of what you end up having to do in your typical open-world game but doesn’t really offer any sense of accomplishment whatsoever when you complete each said task because you really don’t do anything to complete them besides walk over icons laid out on the map (but I’ll get to this part in a bit). The overall game does have somewhat of a story though but it’s all delivered through text that you have to voluntarily read and pay attention to in order to understand it. The game does nothing to stop you from just running around finding icons to interact with which can be good or bad depending on the type of player you are. The story isn’t shoved into your face and if you’re the type that just wants to run around finding stuff without a purpose in the world then you can do that. You do not have to read or understand the story to enjoy the game. I will say though that some of the texts in the game are quite funny, parodying the cliche and stereotypical things that you would normally see in a game of the sort (ex. A weapon that takes far too long and is far too hard to obtain but is completely useless). If you like reading and want games to have a purpose/plot, you can definitely read it. It just requires you to find certain transcripts in order to have access to the whole story. Basically everything you can think of that would be in an open-world game is portrayed here as icons and text, things like side quests, collectables, easter eggs, etc.

Mango Mischief
The four protagonists: Sprig, Marion, Merrow, and Arach
Mango Mischief is a throwback to a simpler time - the 16-bit era of video gaming - when JRPGs used (and abused) cliché storylines as vehicles for showing off interesting battle mechanics, difficult dungeons and monsters, complex puzzles, character leveling systems, and customizability through skills, upgrades, and gear.
_Is it time to go on a magic quest to save the world - a quest that only YOU can complete (with the help of three other party members who have different skill sets, of course)?
Do you need to collect several inanimate objects that serve no purpose other than to accidentally help the antagonist at the end of the game?
Is the antagonist merely a puppet of the true final boss (who has multiple forms)?_
Eh, maybe. Or maybe not.
The map at the beginning of Mango Mischief, showing off the early areas of the game
Mango Mischief attempts to straddle the line between paying homage to the tried-and-true tropes of JRPGs, while also parodying the memes of role-playing games with plot twists and comedy.
Self-referential humor and fourth wall breaks augment the narrative and interactions in this game, without detracting from the core gameplay:
-
Open exploration of a huge, diverse world, full of quests and monsters and loot
-
Flexibility in leveling up desired classes and gaining new abilities along the way
-
The freedom to optimize character builds and complete dungeons in any order
-
Tons of weapons, armor, accessories, and items that allow for a variety of playstyles
-
A turn-based battle system involving elemental strengths and weaknesses, an assortment of buffs, debuffs, and status ailments, and monsters that scale with your progress, to keep battles fresh, interesting, and challenging
-
Just enough random encounters to annoy players who prefer visible encounters, and just enough visible encounters to annoy players who prefer random encounters
-
At least a few interesting NPCs who aren’t merely mindless drones created for the sole purpose of furthering the plot of your special story
Please enjoy Mango Mischief, the passion project of a solo indie game developer!

Played for some time and only experienced 1 cash ( 3hr mark) it’s never good when a game crashes but I knew what I was getting into when I bought this game. Been playing it nonstop since i purchased it today and i’ve enjoyed the experience over all. There really is nothing to lose if you buy it on steam if your game is still broken after doing all the fixes you find online just get a refund. (save your game constantly)

One of the best game made by Rockstar. Bought three times (on ps2, then ps3 and now on PC) and I never regret it. Loved the story, loved Jimmy and all characters. It hasn’t aged well, on W10 It needs third party mods to work and It’s a shame. Definitely needs and deserve a remaster OR A FREAKING SEQUEL!

Retro City Rampage™ DX
I think the concept of this game is great. The idea is that it’s an open world crime game like GTA, but it’s set in video game land filled with parodies of almost any video game character you can imagine. It’s a brilliant idea, and fortunately the game mostly lives up to this great concept even if it falls short in some areas.
The game plays as you’d expect out of an open world crime game. However, the game tries to have a much better variety of mission styles. It doesn’t try to be only standard A to B shooting. The game tries to mix it up by including missions that are arcade-like or based on old NES games. Thanks to this the variety is incredible and every other mission mixes up the gameplay in some way, so you’ll rarely get bored. The quality of the missions do vary however. A good amount of the missions are fun and challenging, but others tend to be a little shallow and funnled, not leaving a lot of room for experimentation. On the whole though, the biggest problem with the missions in this game is that they’re all a bit short.

Retro City Rampage.
What can I say? I love this game. I can’t even write from an objective standpoint here to make an honest and fair review with this one. I’ve spent over 20 hours with this game here on steam, gotten every achievement- and even then- I didn’t quit. I took the time to Gold Medal all the optional missions too. I seriously can’t get enough. I tried for hours to put my name up on the leaderboards. I’m in the top 20 for lots of the missions and I’m quite proud of that. But enough about me.

To be honest, through all my playtime of this game I noticed how inferior the actual GTAV was to this masterpiece. Firstly, this game is extremely cheap compared to the still expensive GTAV. I can even buy copies of this game for all my friends and it would only cost a fraction of the actual GTAV. Secondly, this game is extremely accessible to all computers unlike GTAV with its high PC standards to not have your eyes burn. Thirdly and lastly, NotGTAV shares all other aspects of GTAV such as the nudity, gore, police chases, story, etc. In the end, I realized that I wasted money on the actual GTAV when I could have got this game for far much cheaper and with more playablility. Thank you NotGames for bringing all this enjoyment!

Brief & whimsical // Recommended for brief jaunts of a decidedly silly nature
-
Quirky, endearing soundtrack; good for keeping a goofy smile on the player’s face as they play through the abstract experience
-
Audio design, both sounds and voiceovers, is infectiously charming and funny
-
Hand-drawn visuals fit the rest of the game like a glove; adds immesurably to the droll atmosphere
-
Gameplay boils down to obstacle avoidance, timing, and tail management; mechanics are simple, but the difficulty increases gradually, just enough to keep one on one’s toes

Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
Great game, maybe even the best GTA. One of my personal favorites for sure. Which is why I’m sad to say I’m currently uninstalling this game. Not because it’s bad, but instead because Rockstar Games/Take Two are horrible corporations. I have bought this game 3 times and of those 3 versions it is seemingly apparent the only 1 I actually own is my physical Xbox 360 copy. Being forced to use the Rockstar Launcher is already a violation of our rights, then they have the balls to pull down this REQUIRED Launcher at ANY moment in time. Do yourself a favor and find another way to own this game. The further you rid yourself of the plague that is Rockstar Games and their launcher the better off you’ll be. Otherwise, 10/10 game(w/ mods to fix Rockstar’s mess of course).

Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes From Liberty City is 10/10 in story and fun missions & side activities to do. and please if you don’t own this game yet I highly recommend you to get it on a sale or something before R* release the Gta IV remaster in 2023 because they’ll remove this game in the future and we all know that the OG games are always better than a remastered game that’s made by a company who’s making mobile ports. so please buy this it’s better to be safe than sorry.

POSTAL 2
Postal 2 gives you the freedom to carry out seemingly simple tasks however you see fit. I recently had a task where I had to cash a check into the bank. Simple, right? Well the line for the bank teller was a bit too long and I wasn’t in the waiting mood, so I decided to take a shortcut by dumping cans of napalm all over the bank lobby and robbing the bank as it burned down.

There are a lot of side things you can do for a game about getting Gary Coleman’s autograph. Personally, my favorite thing was standing in line for Gary’s signature.
