Satisfactory

Satisfactory

In Vegas, there are people who remain mired in their own filth, rather than leave a slot machine they’re so sure is going to pay off any minute. I used to mock those people…then I bought Satisfactory and have become one of them. In fairness, Satisfactory actually does pay out, consistently.

I’ve never been so sucked into a game. When I first got it, I played through until just before nuclear tech, then managed to pause for a few weeks until Update 4 came out, then went nuts on it again. I thought it had run its course, and I could reintroduce myself to society…then Update 5 hit the experimental build.

I was pretty sure I’d spend 15-20 hours playing it. Which I did, right before update 5. 200+ hours later and I still can’t put it down. Every time I play the game I feel like I pick up a new way to do something and have to build yet another factory to test my theory.

At first I hated the xeno creatures that guard resources and drop pods, but now I actually kind of like that I can choose to go deal with them or not. Chasing down some xenos and hunting for pods or clearing resource nodes is a good break from building on occasion.

Aground

Aground

[DEMO CONTENT] One year ago, I came across a very interesting-looking web game called “Aground” and I was fascinated by the idea of playing a game reminiscent of “Minecraft” or “Terraria” directly in my browser. It starts like every other survival game: gather resources, build a shelter, upgrade your equipment and improve your efficiency.

But, the demo for the game had a lot of content to offer, so much so, that it felt like a fully fledged out game! I was really mesmerised when I later on found out that you could build advanced industrial gear, like guns or battery-powered equipment! After a while, I also discovered that there was a magic portion to the game and that it had an island and quest line dedicated to just that, which gave me access to enchanted equipment and unique materials. For a demo, the game has an unbelievably vast amount of content to offer, more than in any other demo I’ve ever seen before, you surely won’t regret giving it a try! ;^)

I love this game so much especially since I think it’s an indie game by three people and it’s only $10 as of when I bought it. I’ve already spent 30 hours playing and I’ve restarted a few times because I wanted to optimize my approach. What really got me was the free game on various flash sites and the playable demo which alone is around 7-10 hours depending on gameplay style.

I love the story so far, the graphics appeal to me since I’m an old school gamer (think late 80s, early 90s) where gameplay is much more important than flashy graphics wanting 160 fps. There is a story in it as well which is nice, but doesn’t take away from the game if you’re the sort who doesn’t like reading much, but it’s actually a pretty neat story. One thing I’d like to have the cutscenes as a replayable option in the menu when you unlock them. The music adds to the game and has atmosphere to it.

Retreat To Enen

Retreat To Enen

About The Game

Retreat To Enen is an open world, survival game featuring foraging, gathering, fishing, crafting meditation and exploration. The game is set in 3600 C.E. After humanity had brought itself to the brink of extinction, a new society has formed. This society has a new reverence for nature and the Earth’s environment. As a rite of passage, you are sent to the legendary island of Enen to live off the land, increase your connection to nature, and become more mindful.

Mindfulness

We have consulted with multiple mental health professionals throughout the process to ensure that the game is providing the most relaxing and engaging survival experience possible. Throughout the island the player will find meditation points that will take them on guided meditations, and breathing exercises that will unlock new items to craft.

Open World

Enen is a large island that you will need to explore to locate new mediation points and gather enough resources to build their perfect camp. The island includes beautiful tropical beaches, lush forests, and breathtaking underwater environments. The dynamic weather system, day night cycle, and interactive foliage will fully immerse you in the world of Enen.

Survival

Everything you need to survive can be found on the island. Start with basic traps and foraging and eventually travel the island by kayak, sleep in a large hut with an indoor fireplace, and even soak in your hand crafted hot tub.

The Infected

Firstly let me start by saying this is a lone developer. What he achieves and produces puts things in perspective. He, for one actually listens to feedback and is very consistent in updates and further development.

The game is in early access, however the only bug i have personally experienced since playing this since very early release is cut down logs sporadically getting thrown in the air by dumb ass animals running. So please do not let that put you off what is nothing short of a fantastic game.

Great Game :D me and my husband play most of the day together even tho is single player. I don’t see the reason of leaving a bad review. The only thing I would say that would indicate to a bad point is that I wish it was multiplayer but single is fine as well, me and my husband is having fun either way and of course there is room of more improvment, like furnitures maybe be able to craft a fireplace instead of using the forge as a heater for the winter lol

I do like the Tutorial, it gives you a little help on what to do and craft but i would not follow it from the top the bottom. I would first start to do the weapon’s like the axe, spear and the stone hacker then do fondation, anvil, forge and bed, Why? because then you can do the waggon that is good to have when you need wood for doing the house That is how I start it and it helps alot.

Hobo: Tough Life

Hobo: Tough Life

I was hesitated about buying this game due to some review and topic said the Dev has abandoned this game. Let’s me clarify this. They just put a new update in this game, and also there will be a patch which add mod support to the game according to the dev. And after 90 mins playing, so far I don’t see any bug glitch in this game. Everything work pretty smooth, game optimization is very good imo. Here are some Pros and Cons.

Pros:

  • Save on exit. You can exit the game anytime you want without worry about losing your progress.

So, after surviving 3 consecutive winters, I have a fair grasp on the game—which did not come without cost. The first ~10 hours was learning how to balance the needs of the character, and learning the city (the latter being the slightly more difficult part).

Expect to die. Expect to die a lot. This game is ruthless, and it will sht on you: you will starve, you’ll be told to “pss off”, you’ll smell like a porta-potty, you may end up involved with a Satanic Cult, you’ll get blitzed so badly that you’ll feel like you have to hold on to the pavement to keep from falling off the face of the planet…and then you’ll sh*t your pants.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

I exclusively played the game only on Lethal, I’ve never dipped my toes into any other difficulty, ever. The balance in terms of gameplay is honestly pretty good, you pay for your own mistakes most of the time. You sometimes drive over a bloater on a low-health character, or you fail to GTFO when SHTF, choosing to stay behind and risk your life, sometimes at the cost of it. It’s easy to break line of sight and lose a horde of zombies, and while Ferals are vastly overpowered and unreasonable, you can cheese them by Dropkicking them or shooting their heads from atop cars. I suspect other skills effect Ferals the same way Dropkick does, too. Overall it’s easy to survive if you’re focused, and it’s easy to die whenever there’s a lapse.

EDIT

Game is incomplete and dead

With over a 160 hours on Grav as of the time this review was written. I did like to believe I can at least write a decent one.

I now clock over 400 hours as of build 20.

I have also written a guide for this game. Reading it will help you address the common annoyances people have with the game and also further influence your decision to get it.

The review has had stuff added due to patch 19. Nothing was removed though.

Final Review (Half-Year In The Making) DO NOT BUY, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. GAME IS BEING TREATED LIKE POST-RELEASE IN TERMS OF DEVELOPMENT WHILE IN EARLY ACCESS.

The developers, in their communication with their customers, make their changes sound wide-ranging and grandiose, like adding entirely new multiplayer mechanics or the like while they tweak small portions of their UI or networking code over the period of a half-year.

In the amount of time the game has been in early access (read since the release date on Steam) there has been all of one major update. This is over YEARS of development. As a customer and reviewer, I cannot stress ENOUGH how little progress has been made on this game and how much of a debaucle this has been over the years. I’ve logged far too many hours into this game to demand a refund, but if you’ve logged anywhere in the single or double-digits, I implore; request a refund and go take pictures of your nearest fault line or glacier, since they’ll show just about as much change in the same period of time.

PoliPlanet

PoliPlanet

Your galaxy is a blank slate; An untamed wilderness full of potential! Travel from planet to planet and develop each one into a beautiful village, town, or city through the use of machines and crafting!

Physics-Based Interaction

Actions in PoliPlanet are generally completed by interacting with the physical world rather than through the use of menus and UI. Whether it’s gathering resources, loading machines, or planting trees, it’s all done in real time and space.

Free-Form Building

No grids, no point & click. Whether it’s a segment or a complete structure, you’re free to build wherever and however you want. Let your creativity flourish!

Real Relationships

Citizens in PoliPlanet are not mindless NPCs who follow a predetermined set of instructions. They build complex relationships with the player and each other. Treat them well!

Natural Progression

As you develop your skills, you’ll learn more about the resources at your disposal and gain the ability to craft bigger and better structures and machines. As your planets become more inviting, NPCs will begin take notice. If they like them enough, they might even fly over in their rocket ship and take up residence! But of course, everyone is different. A merchant might want to see a few other citizens living on your planet before they’re willing to set up shop. They need someone to sell to after all!

Elaborate Procedural Generation

Each planet is unique, with its own resources and features! So what if your citizens are requesting some plant life on your sandy, desert planet? Well, it’s off to your spaceship to search for a shiny new planet, lush with trees and plants! But how will you get them back to your civilization? Rockets? An overly complicated tube system? Build a transportation robot who exists solely to carry out your every request? It’s up to you!
