Fury Unleashed

Fury Unleashed

I don’t do a lot of reviews, but I felt compelled to a proper one because this game is really, really fun.

Action/platformer/roguelite/RPG

First of all, I’m on the wrong side of 45 and still gaming strong, but it presents a quandry: I love “old school” games, but - I am too old and can’t game as well as I used too. The secondary problem I run into is “loving the idea” of old school games but after the novelty of pixilated graphics wears off, I can’t see them as anything but ugly. Fury Unleashed effectively beat the hell out of those problems. It has an AMAZING amount of customization of difficulty allowing for old people like myself to really enjoy it as well as the crazy kids hat love games being 25 viagra hard. The graphics are really sharp and not extravagant, in short it’s pretty and runs butter smooth. It really seems like they thought of everything up to and including a pet peeve of mine where games that use the Steam Workshop make you download the workshop stuff outside of the game, but this integrates it into the character select screen so you literally see the cosmetics you can dl from the workshop and simply select it in-game.

TL;DR 10/10 Xom howls with laughter!

What would the product be if you mixed together the creativity of Comix Zone, the unrelenting action of Metal Slug, and the audacity of action flicks from the 80’s? Probably this. Fury Unleashed is the first game I want to review, and rightly so.

To begin with, the Hero starts off with one SMG, one choppy blade, grenades, and boots of stomping. Throughout the course of the story, you get all the silly loot you could want and more. Freezing shrapnel grenades? Got ‘em. Rocket launcher with poison warheads? Sure! Unholy blade? No problem. Triple jump boots? Go wild! In addition to this arsenal of fun, the enemies you face are varied and challenging in distinctive ways. In fact, the same deadly shenanigans you pull on them can just as easily apply to you. This is most noticeable in the second comic book, where enemy soldiers can (and will) use the same weapons you do.

Dark Prospect

Dark Prospect

My first experience with this game was building a giant wall to protect us against artillery, and losing my mind over having to go out and gather MORE resources because that damn monster tore it down. It was a hard fought battle that my wall unfortunately did not survive… it will be missed.

My second experience was going through a dark forest trying to find the objectives. In I walk through the barn door, and I see a box. I go to look at it and see I can interact with it, and thus I do. All of a sudden epic metal riffs are blaring through the surrounding area, and I am in awe. It is beautiful. I have decided that this new piece of technology shall follow me in my journey no matter what I face, and it shall be glorious. As I go to pick it up, I accidentally just tap the interact button and… the channel changes. Tears of joy welled in my eyes as it fully dawned on me what I had just discovered. The ensuing hours were filled with my dropping the radio to play my epic battle theme and mow down the enemy on my way to conquer the RTS player, who thought I was absolutely insane.

Day 1 Impression:

Direct and to the point. A FPS vs RTS!

The FPS side has a fun construction element to it. It is clear they have good FPS knowledge that they are building from. If you like FPS, you are ready to play this game and enjoy it. You can practice single player FPS in training.

The RTS side has a C&C like play to it. Much like most past RTSvsRTS games. You have 3 bases and you can build units out of them. I would say that the makers do not have a good grasp on the RTS side of the game but it has promise once RTS people give good feedback. They can only build the RTS side up from where they are now. You can not yet practice RTS in training but I am sure it will come around eventually.

ROBALL

A classic fun arcade game, with a nice map and graphics. You play against bots that are very tough, so the game gives you a challenge. It is great for killing time at work and can be played on literally any pc or laptop. My recommendation for those who like this type of games .

Originally, I found this game on the the Nintendo store while browsing for local multiplayer games I could enjoy with my kids. I was drawn to it due to the above but also due to ts great art style and the randomness each game offered. Being an avid Diablo fan going on decades, this really appealed to me.

My three girls and I have a blast playing this and there are not a lot of buttons to remember so the basics are easy to pick up for younger children. I have beaten barbarian challenges with my 3 year old and shes even saved me! Although her favorite is the Alchemist so technically her “friend” saved me.

All around a great game.

TLDR: Magic has 10x more potential than melee and archery. the +1% magic per cast potion needs to be scrapped.

My only gripe with the game atm is that magic can be massively overpowered late game. I have finished all 7 acts (the last being the desert) multiple times now as a magic user, and probably wouldn’t have even needed to look at the screen to beat the final boss (which would be really hard as melee/archer).

The potion that gives +1% bonus magic everytime you cast a spell can be so easily abused. If you get it early on you can just hold onto a voodoo doll (or anything will a low magic cost) and spam it.

CLOSED BETA/EARLY ACCESS REVIEW!

So I was lucky to be one of the people being able to play around with the closed beta and even though we didn’t have access to all the EA content and even though we ran into quite a few bugs at the time (most of whom have been fixed or being worked on right now), I had a ton of fun playing this.

It’s a relaxing survival and exploration sim with many things to explore, craft and build.

The water physics are amazing. You can basically manipulate the water to do anything, if you know how.

Got an early review copy and was excited to try this as it had been on my radar since seeing the trailer earlier this year. Unfortunately the flaws became readily apparent pretty quickly.

Pros:

  • Looks nice

  • Water mechanics are interesting

  • Gathering resources and crafting are easy

  • Armor and weapons don’t lose durability

Cons:

  • Movement feels really off

  • Even after lowering the sensitivity the camera is still way too fast

  • Combat is not good at all, there’s no blocking, dodging or rolling and enemies have very basic attack patterns

Legion TD 2 - Multiplayer Tower Defense

Legion TD 2 - Multiplayer Tower Defense

Awesome multiplayer auto-battler, with a thriving, generally nice community, and ongoing development!

Stop waves of enemies!

In Legion TD 2 (LTD) you have to stop enemies that spawn in waves on your ‘lane’. The enemies give a bounty for each kill, and with that gold you can buy new fighters in between the waves. The game gives a recommended value of your fighters for each wave consisting of the total possible value that comes spawning. Depending on the type of units you have put on your lane with all their synergies and positioning, this value can be either too high or too low. For instance, a collection of only tanks (units that soak damage well, but don’t deal much themselves) will probably not clear a wave.

Plays just like the original WC3 map + much, much more, for anyone who is a fan of tower defense, multiplayer/co-op and strategy games, will definitely love this, for the developer AAG i can’t wait to see the extra campaign maps as well as potential dlc content perhaps something event based like a new boss (similar to btd6 like the bloonarius events) or endless mode with different waves to see how long you and a friend or 7 other friends can survive, there is so much potential and i cant wait to see it unfold , but as it is for its price, its well deserved of its positive reviews and again if you’re even remotely thinking of purchasing this game, as Shia LaBeouf would say, “just do it”, you will not regret it.

Tower defence at its best.

very challenging and great diversity

More levels a definite requirement..

Well, as a self-professed TD game addict, with lots of games to compare it to, this game stands out as one of the best overall Tower Defense games I’ve played. It’s a hidden gem that offers tons of varied action, ops for challenge (lots of replay ability), appealing story line, immersion and just plain fun. And, unlike many TD games I’ve played, even after the learning curve I have not felt bored with any level because they are all so varied and different.

The graphics are truly outstanding with a wide variety of enemies, weapons and maps (albeit IMO per the Early Access version, there needs to be some tweaking on gamma (adjusting within the game graphics, ie. shadow, worked great for me). The only other criticism (and this is being very picky) would maybe if they tweaked the zooming and angle controls for better visibility (I wanted to really check out some of those strange and awesome enemies)
