Heavy Fire: Afghanistan

Heavy Fire: Afghanistan

Summary: Don’t let the low price fool you, this game is ok; I’d give it a B-. If you ever want a break from the usual modern FPS format, this is an option that’s just as entertaining, but in its own way. This game challenges the player; not always fairly, but usually so. The health meter is a welcome change from being able to recharge health by waiting under cover. Your weapons will sound a bit silly, but they get the job done. This is a game with a realistic setting, non-stop action (except for the shooting ranges) and despite its low price, it’s visuals are as breathtaking as any modern game.

I guess the concept is kind of interesting… many people (myself included) quite enjoy rail shooters in arcades. So… why not take the concept, but allow people to play in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, without the virtual gun, and with a not-quite-as-intuitive cover system, this rail shooter falls flat. Whether you play with a gamepad or keyboard and mouse - the controls are slow and sluggish, and the movements and animations just don’t feel right. This is exacerbated by the Quick Time Events… probably one of my least favourite mechanics or gimmicks in any game - there is just no need for them, and they don’t add anything to the gameplay experience except annoyance.

ok people lets be real here , you can’t spend 3.99$ on a game and expecting it to be as good as battlefield I mean you get exactly what you paid for a simple and short indie rail-shooter game.

-the plot : I can resume the plot to this , you’re an US soldier in a mission to invade Iran cause they have nuclear plans lol and the game make it like you’re the hero who is risking his life and killing Iranian people because they are bad guys ( army propaganda ) the thing is if you invade a country you have to expect that those people of this country will fight back and defend their lands ,you can’t just walk in and do what you like in the name of freedom and the ending was so dumb and cheesy that makes you laugh , invade a foreign country and kill their people in the name of freedom and then call them terrorist cause they resisted and fought back to protect what they have ?!!! Seriously?!!! A soldier of a fighter is called a hero when he protects his country not invade others.

Achievements & Trading Cards! That’s all that it is worth with Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear, really. Buy that low-budget on-rail shooter only in the bundle, during some hard sale… Or avoid it, to save some self-respect.

Just like its predecessor, Heavy Fire: Afghanistan, this game fails to be enjoyable or impressive in any way. The devs made some homework, sure! Now the levels are a bit more colourful and engaging, the game’s sequences a bit more versatile, the visual effects and sounds - more tolerable… Even the forte - gunplay part - gain some additional work around, making this game looking more like proper war shooter, rather than some random virtual shooting range with wooden targets.

The Train: Escape to Normandy

The Train: Escape to Normandy

The Train: A daring and deadly escape behind enemy lines!

August, 1944. The German stranglehold on Europe is slipping. The liberation of occupied France looms on the horizon. In an effort to escape the advancing Allied forces, the Germans begin a desperate evacuation of men, machinery and the spoils of war.

On the outskirts of Metz, a heavily armed train of the Third Reich sits sweltering in the dead of night. On board lies a secret cargo. Renoirs, Monets, Picassos – the entire plundered art collection of France – are to be smuggled to Berlin under a cover of darkness. Once in Hitler’s clutches, these priceless masterpieces could be lost to mankind forever.

Only you can stop it!

In The Train, you are a leader in the French Resistance. Your mission: capture the armored “war train” and successfully commandeer it through enemy lines for a rendezvous with the Allies at Riviere, Normandy.

With the help of a brave corps of Resistance fighters, you’ll engineer a WWII locomotive and engage in battle with enemy forces on land, air, and sea. Traps, ambushes and sabotage may await you at any station, any bridge or any crossing. Enemy planes will strafe you in heated pursuit. Gunboats can blast you right off the rails.

Shovel coal or shovel your own grave.

BeachHead 2020

This review is for the non-VR game.

I bought the early access BH2020 as soon as it came out and I’ve been enjoying it immensely. I thought BH2002 was a blast so I was excited for this newer version.

The game has a new and detailed look compared to the earlier version. The graphics are nice as are the sounds. I’ve only encountered minor glitches such as the game loosing count of health and a stutter with aiming, but they were quickly resolved when reported to the Devs.

The game is still “early-access” so issues are still being adjusted. I’ve found the Developers to be very attentive to any concerns that are communicated to them. It sounds like they have a huge and fascinating game besides the stationary shooting station out now.

A REAL review on BeachHead 2020

First off, looking at the negative reviews, these people are not giving it time. Almost all if not all played the game for less than an hour if that much (look at their hours on record). With that being said, this IS still in very Early Access, meaning that it will be less than perfect as the company works out the bugs, kinks and adds more features.

I have found a few issues like the aiming is kind of choppy when zooming in. But really I am not holding this against the company. As of writing up this review, the game version is at 1.1.1. So in time I am sure these minor things will be fixed.

Mobile game that turns out to be quite decent. Sure you have to wait for upgrades to finish upgrading but that is fine.

Campaign is a 6/10. It gets harder as it goes along. I did not like the water sections and the helicopter sections. Sections in space where quite decent.

Skirmish Online is a 5/10. It was too easy in my opinion. And rewards do repeat.

After playing for a decent amount beating the campaign and doing the events i can say i enjoyed playing it. It is nothing special. But to keep you busy for some time either beating the campaign or doing achievements it is quite decent.

The player is asked to destroy the criminal organization Echidna and confront the organization.

When you run out of ammunition, you can discard the entire weapon and take out a new one with the AR armory system, so there is no need to reload or perform other difficult operations.

Some weapons can be held in both hands, so you can use two pistols for a barrage or a handgun and knife for a CQC style fight.

VIRTUAL SOLDIERS

VIRTUAL SOLDIERS

It is FINE.

There are 6 levels that take about 3-4 minutes each to complete.

The environment IS destructible but the screen is often so busy as to not matter.

For $10, there just isn’t enough content here.

For $1, I would probably give it a thumbs up, at $10, I have to give it a thumbs down.

Great F2P game, very good game feel and enjoyable from start to finish.

Only 3 levels, counting the tutorial, but they are long and complex, with multiple choices to increase replayability.

The boss is really hard, but doable, and after only 2 tries I’ve beat the game. I’ll wait for more levels and options, but I’ll keep playing to increase my highscore!!!

OPERATION SERPENS

OPERATION SERPENS

This game is huge fun to play, and despite the action quickly becoming quite frantic early on, there’s enough breathing room to allow the player to dodge or sidestep the deluge of incoming fire thanks to the enemy bullet speed being much slower than your own. Jump scares here and there, hilarious character animations, and varying play styles as you level up keep this game fresh and different.

Played in CV1, full room scale which translated perfectly inch by inch within the game environment. Unfortunately I’m limited by two front facing sensors, and so got lost by the sensors a couple of times on the “Gorgon” level, but never once did I feel overwhelmed.
