The Tainted
You play as Jezebel, a mysterious girl who awakens in the woods, with little memory of her past. Unlike most of the humans of this world, she can use magic and communicate with intelligent creatures. In trying to live up to her motto of always doing what’s necessary, she often finds herself in uncomfortable situations.
Along the way to exploring the land of Xanthia, you’ll gain allies to help you face the many challenges that await. Do you have what it takes to stop the Taint?
Features:
Old school, 2D style RPG
Turn-based combat
Partial spell customization
Mature/immature humor
Mini-games
The Tainted was created using the RPG Maker MV engine and makes use of a lot of content created by the RPG Maker community. It attempts to tell a unique and funny story, as well as show off some of the talent found in this often overlooked community. Much of the humor is of a mature nature and is not intended for younger viewers. So, if you enjoy classic RPGs with turn-based combat and are also an adult that still thinks farts are funny….you might also enjoy The Tainted.

American Isekai Prologue
Really enjoyed this demo. The game, despite being clearly identified as a work in progress, is nonetheless a fun diversion. I’ve been playing this style of RPGs since the Apple IIc version of Might & Magic II: Gates to Another World and the OG Nintendo Final Fantasy I. I really enjoy learning new systems and progressing the story at my own pace; this game gives me the same sense of wonder and control over my own destiny in the game that those games that originally captured my imagination so many years ago.

Mortal Glory
Mortal Glory is a fantastically fun little game where you manage a team of gladiators in a fantasy setting, competing to achieve the glory of victory and appease the Emperor and masses alike. The gameplay follows a simple but addicting structure:
-
Hiring gladiators
-
Equip/upgrade your team with items, skills, and training
-
Go forth into glorious battle
-
Encounter a random town event which may aid or debilitate you for the following match
Within this structure, the player focuses on economic/team management and battle strategy used in other turn-based tactics games. A lot of the fun comes from making decisions about who to hire and what to buy with your limited resources. Perhaps you focus on beefing up one gladiator that can take on multiple foes and then save money to hire stronger allies. Maybe you are able to buy a fantastic item that offsets a cheap gladiator’s weaknesses. Before entering the arena, you can also see the stats of the foe you’re about to face, so you can plan accordingly. As your team develops, you may have different members specialize into classic roles, (tank, mage, etc.) or create hybrids to deal with multiple situations.

Mortal Glory has meaningful tactics with a gentle learning curve. What it lacks is tedium. These fights go fast, and when you’re not caving in skulls, you’ve got a bit of light shopping to set yourself up for success. No deep intricacies here. Just kill and keep moving.
If you find Mortal Glory too easy, you can make use of its challenge toggles along with the additional Glory ranks (think Slay the Spire Ascension). Alternatively, there’s a Relaxed difficulty for an easier time, though I don’t know how easy that actually is. Tactical vets should have no trouble starting with Normal after a gander at the small tutorial.

Anti-Science Brigade
It is amusing to be reviewing a game about fallacies and forcing false dichotomies and not being able to give a review score more nuanced than “recommended” or “not recommended”.
This is likely obvious, but if the theme doesn’t appeal to you, don’t bother. The combat mechanics are simple, there are (fairly minor) UI frustrations sprinkled throughout, and character pathfinding is hit-and-miss. I also unfortunately can’t say this is an easily picked up title for those unfamiliar with RPGs/games in general, because tutorials are sparse and menus are a bit fiddly, so it helps to be quite familiar with the genre and therefore what to look for and how you might generally expect things to work.

Geneforge 5: Overthrow
Awesome game with a fair bit of challenges and stuff.Plus that it has good graphics and awesome creations
Creations:
Fyora:Basic Creature with both melee and missle abilities, but not that much health
Thahd:Creature with powerful melee attacks and very high health but a very high chance to get confused or charmed in battle
Artila:Very low health and low melee damage, but very good acid damage.Suitable on large forces to defeat some weak bosses
Cryoa:Improved version of the Fyora shooting Ice Bolts.Still doesn’t have a lot of health

This appears to be the largest of the series in terms of choices and lore.
As always try to find your games on sale. While I personally feel all of the Geneforge games deserve to be bought for full price…money is money and people need it for other things like eating or having a home
I copied and pasted from my own review… I’m lazy…
This game is a turn based game Fantasy RPG just like the previous games You will need to read for context during the game. If you don’t like reading you won’t like the game. You generally get short scenes from the story where you and your companion will speak and you will receive details about them depending on your skills. You choose how to respond and the scene continues. Making choices with words and actions will shape your story and eventual ending.

Heroes of Yore
Looking for a casual way to prove dominance amongst fabled legends? I was. Ever want to make a team of mythical villains destroy the prudish icons of old? I did. Have you ever wanted Paul Bunyan to feed Grendel flapjacks?… well, me either on this one, but it is as awesome as it sounds. This game was just what I wanted! It is a casual, easy to learn, but challenging to master. I have not fully beat this game yet, but am working on it! I will slay them all!
Since this is Early Access, I am really excited to see what (or who) else the developers come up with!

Heroes of Yore is a turn-based strategy/RPG in which you put together a squad of public domain characters and fight to win in single or multiplayer mode.
The basics are straightforward, and it’s evident that the game aims to be user-friendly. You simply select four heroes from an ever-growing pool and engage in combat. On the left, your party, and on the right, the opponent. The battles are turn-based, which means that each side performs actions for all four heroes. Attacking is simple, just select the attack and choose a target. Because each hero only gets to perform one action, the order doesn’t matter. So far, everything appears to be easy.

Blessings of No-more
So first off this game is a challenge! Expecting anything less would be stupid. While it may be challenging it still quite fun, its got a pokemon-esque combat system and some cool builds you can make with the blessings. I really enjoyed the character design and the art! If your up for a bit of a grind and a challenge its definitely worth the 99 cents. Pro tip, you decide to get the game make sure you equip your first blessing right away!

As someone who has seen this game evolve from its ‘RPG combat’ prototype form to that game that it is now, I can confirm it has since come a long way. It’s become its own game by now, with all kinds of neat features and gimmicks. It’s a nice homeage to classic JRPG combat within a more western style roguelike RPG.
You start out with next to nothing in an unkown realm, and you’ll have to fight your way to the exit. You’ll have to find blessings and fight monsters to grow in power and up your stats in order to survive the quickly growing power of the enemies. Every area is guarded by some form of boss monster which you’ll have to get through, but to get to him you’ll have to fight your way through monsters and mini bosses. For those confident in their platforming skills there’s also hidden areas where loot and powerups can be found through jumping puzzles. However, die once, inside or outside of combat, and you’ll have to start over.

Geneforge 3
Note – My playtime is roughly 30 hours extended due to time I had the game idle. In truth the game took me approximately 40-50 hours to complete.
This is a fun little RPG that I think doesn’t hit quite the same highs as the first two games.
Geneforge 1 is one of the best RPGs in terms of player choice and exploration. You really DO feel like you are choosing whatever path you want, and the world is open to you completely. Geneforge 2 strikes a wonderful balance between the exploration of the first and the strong guiding story elements of other cRPGs. This game cuts a lot of the exploration from the first two games out.

previous Geneforge 2 review
Geneforge 3
Graphics: Simple and functional. There is improvement in lighting and shadowing effects.
Control: Nice and clear tutorial (a bit longer than the 2 previous games for added dramatic effect), fixed key binding.
Replayability: Medium
Surprise! Another cliche opening: Your school got attacked and you a Loyal Shaper are determinated to get revenge on the culprit… are you not? In the practice is up to the player to get revenge or to become a traitorous, despicable turncoat Rebel. (This review may be somehow a little biased)
