Ion Fury
I’ve never had any particular nostalgia for BUILD engine shooters cause I pretty much missed all of them during my childhood, so I went in without wearing nostalgia googles (well, almost). Yet, Ion Maiden (shh, don’t tell scumbag lawyers) absolutely blew me away from the first few levels.
-Solid gameplay with some of the punchiest guns I ever used in a FPS (save for Doom gameplay wads). The game lets you use its entire arsenal pretty much from the get-go and develop your own playstyle. Every gun has its place, even the default pistol which is traditionally discarded the second a shotgun shows up. That demonstrates nicely that the devs not only took the elements of classic shooters, but also improved on them.

STORY: 8/10
Ion Fury is actually a prequel of sorts to a previous 3D Realms game titled “Bombshell”. It features Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison who herself is based on a cut character from Duke Nukem Forever, who originally was going to be a sidekick of Duke. Ion Fury follows Shelly’s exploits as a GDF police chief in Neo DC, tracking down the leader of a cybernetic cult that has risen on the streets, which are flooded with augmented punks that seem eager to die for their new leader. As it turns out, the leader is Professor Jadus Heskel, a scientist hellbent on world domination. It is up to Shelly to track him down and end his reign. Yeah the game is certainly not heavy on story, but much like its fathers, it doesn’t really need one. So let’s move on to talking about the gameplay.

Cheer and Track
Great mechanics, great game, it had some really good pros, but no flaws at all. Character models are just amazing, artwork is stunning and my friend was able to play with me online. 10/10

Red Laser Z
An incredibly fun game, almost in its own genre.
Red Laser Z stars a bounty hunter of sorts, Janine Potts. Across 10 levels you’ll be introduced to what I can only call, a ‘precision retro shooter’. The feeling of all the models and gunplay is not dissimilar to that of say, Rise of the Triad. But that’s wrong, because every shot you make is a one hit kill for the enemy, if you hit the right target. Focusing on one aspect of shooting that’s not always covered, aiming, you’ll have to peak corners, hit weak spots, and most importantly: don’t hit the wrong targets. That’s right, if you hit certain objects or NPCs enough, game over, restart stage. It’s an incredibly addicting combo, and the creator (who’s just one guy) knows it. Tracking each shot, taking score, it’s possible not to miss a single shot in a level. I never could do it, but there’s a definite score-chasing arcady side to the game. There’s also traps and secrets you can find to increase said score, and they’re pretty hard to find. Good luck to anyone that tries.

Pretty fun, easy to pick up and play. Only gripe i have with it is how easy it is to accidentally destroy something, gotta be accurate.

To Kill A King
To Kill A King has a classic feel, and a fresh dose of aggression said classics don’t really let you express. I’ve played a number of older games where the heroes are only too happy to go along with whatever is asked of them without a hint of frustration. Add to that the grinding that is always sure to make a person (i.e. me) very frustrated. Rots definitely gets that anger across, the game also has a lot of mechanical call backs to older games that I feel like people who like grinds will call back to.

The Tainted
You play as Jezebel, a mysterious girl who awakens in the woods, with little memory of her past. Unlike most of the humans of this world, she can use magic and communicate with intelligent creatures. In trying to live up to her motto of always doing what’s necessary, she often finds herself in uncomfortable situations.
Along the way to exploring the land of Xanthia, you’ll gain allies to help you face the many challenges that await. Do you have what it takes to stop the Taint?
Features:
Old school, 2D style RPG
Turn-based combat
Partial spell customization
Mature/immature humor
Mini-games
The Tainted was created using the RPG Maker MV engine and makes use of a lot of content created by the RPG Maker community. It attempts to tell a unique and funny story, as well as show off some of the talent found in this often overlooked community. Much of the humor is of a mature nature and is not intended for younger viewers. So, if you enjoy classic RPGs with turn-based combat and are also an adult that still thinks farts are funny….you might also enjoy The Tainted.

Rescue Lucy 2
It does seem a bit better compared to the first game, i did enjoy the jigsaw puzzle in this one. However there is not much plot and felt it was quickly thrown together, so unfortunately i will have to say that i do not recommend this game.

Rescue Lucy 2 is a Flash-based attempt at a horror point and click game. There’s a very bare story and a lot of poorly designed puzzles. It feels like an indie game from 10 years ago. 3/10

Tales of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf
This game is an RPG and a Visual Novel .
Or call it a story-driven RPG - much the same thing, imo.
I believe people too often think about this as a sequel to Loren, the Amazon Princess. It is Not.
But it is similar in game play, in many ways.
ToA really deserves it’s own place in your game library.
What do you get if you choose to play ToA, Seasons of the Wolf ?
1. A nice fantasy story, with surprising twists and turns .At times disturbing. At times beautiful.
2. Turn-based tactical combat , easy to learn, fun to play, difficult at times, especially on hard - which is a must difficulty setting throughout the game, if you want all achievements . (But hard is not impossible - take it from me, I managed to do it, and I am a huge fan of normal in most games ). Go for “nightmare”, if you truly want a challenge.

This was a very good, fun game, but I’m going to approach the review assuming people have played its spiritual predecessor, Loren: The Amazon Princess, as there are some notable differences even though they take place in the same world.
The developer was upfront about making this a departure from Loren–less emphasis on romances (they’re still there, just not as many options for all the PCs) and more emphasis on tactical combat. And resource management, at least on Hard or (I can’t imagine) Nightmare difficulty. I played on Hard, which would not have been my 1st choice, but did it b/c, oddly enough, a great ### of the Achievements you only get by doing so.

After playing Tomb Raider 1 2 and 3 (original pc tomb raiders that is) I must rank them in the same order. TR 1 begins slow but ends big. TR 2 is good throughout. TR 3 is sparse, becomes difficult and unmanageable. My ranking of the best 5 episodes (from number one to number 5):
TR 1 egypt -sanctuary of the scion. This has the amazing underground sphinx. It keeps you in this amazing atmosphere of adventure, a constant involvement and thrill.
TR 1- atlantis - the great pyramid - an entire pyramid hidden underground. the final escape after the boss fight is itself an amazing episode. The demons who are genetically engineered monsters are masterfully rendered. Great satisfaction in completing the level and the game.
