Offroad Mania
I can’t remember how I came across this game, but I am glad I did.
The Gameplay is straight forward, you spawn on a platform that is suspended in air and have to reach the finish line without falling off. The game also offers collectible trophies as an additional challenge.
You can choose if you want to play “easy” mode or “hard” mode, the latter requires you to collect all 3 trophies per level before continuing. The 60 individual levels provide a increasing difficulty level, the only aspect I didn’t like about the choice of level design is the inversion of all levels starting from level 61. You are playing through the game again but with reversed levels.

Addicting indie game where you have to traverse various obstacles to drive across the finish line
Pros
→ plenty of levels to choose from (although half of the maps in classic mode are the same maps but in reverse)
→ decent vehicle selection
→ fun physics
→ well-balanced achievements
→ regular updates
→ different modes
→ low price
→ front and rear vehicle modification
→ great sounds
→ trading card drops
Neither
→ gameplay gets slightly tedious after a while
→ limited customization (only colors can be changed both on the truck and player)

OVERPASS™
This game is FUN. The graphics are awesome, the engine/sound effects are very satisfying, and there is around 40 hours of engaging gameplay in conquering everything it has to offer. The career mode is a little on the thin side, but there is a good variety of tracks and the finals offer a number of fresh obstacles to take on.
The physics are excellent. They are not broken like some claim. There is just a bit of a catch 22 in the career mode: you need upgrades in order to even finish some of the tracks offered, but you cannot get the upgrades without making a decent time and coming in third. I was able to work around this by tackling what tracks I was able to, unlocking upgrades along the way, and retiring from events that I simply could not do. In this fashion I was able to eventually get some better vehicles and upgrades and make great times on all the tracks.

I do love this game. I never leave feedback but I felt I enjoy it enough I should. The other reason im leaving feedback on the game is. It is different than most games. I feel I have played every other style of game out there. This one is different and its a good different. I dont feel im playing the same game just renamed like i do most of the time. I often go riding in the mountains and its a true passion of mine. When I cant go riding this is the next best thing.
Do I feel its a true sim? Its very close without real broken bones. I do see a few minor issues. But overall it is a game and getting a game this close when it comes to slow technical riding is a chore im sure. I do get stuck on a random small rock every once in a while that irritates me.

Ultra Off-Road 2019: Alaska
Love the stunning visuals, they attracted me to the game in the 1st place. UOR played on ultra is really beautiful, almost yelling IT’S ALASKA, MAN! The feeling of freedom is also very nice - what the real off-road is all about. Let’s say my inner explorator feels FINE. :D
Next - the driving experience. There was a simulation/arcade debate here, also addressed by the devs. Imho it feels quite balanced right now, though I’m not a hardcore sim fan. My jeep could bounce more/jump higher - maybe some future arcade feature? ;)

This game still needs a lot of work, and they still need to update some of their game description to match with what is currently available, to what is planned for the future as they don’t seem to tally up or match. And I dont consider this game a simulator, but rather a simcade which it matches perfectly and is honestly the type of game that I enjoy sinking a few hours into. Also, I dont have a problem with floating objects like pizza, fuel and as such, but it may be nice to have an option to enable or disable them, but seriously its not an issue for me at the current state.

V-Rally 4
Flawed. That’s the first thing that crosses my mind whenever I think of V-Rally 4: good, but flawed. This is a game which strives for excellence but only ever achieves adequacy. Some of its flaws are minor, with only a small impact on a specific part of the game, while others are very significant and detrimental to the entire game. Vehicles, events, progression, even menus, they can all be described with the same phrase: close, but no cigar.
This review will cover the offline portion of V-Rally 4. Kylotonn’s reboot of the series has many different facets, so I strongly recommend reading the entire review, but be aware the primary focus will be on gameplay. Graphics and other segments of the game will be touched on at the end.

The Good: This game is a lot better than WRC 7 with far more options in terms of cars, rally stages, game types and the addition of full multiplayer in every game mode including rally via the use of simultaneous ghost cars. The handling models for the game seem more responsive and grounded compared to WRC 7 and give a nice blend of sim and arcade racer. In terms of sim handling traits you will have to think about counter steer, corner speed, how you use the cars weight and the use of the handbrake. In terms of arcade feel you can maybe stop faster than you would in reality and using a cars power while sliding out can really save you. Stylistically this game really pops and the colour pallet is really vibrant and the courses are very well designed in terms of aesthetic choice.

Xpand Rally Xtreme
I wrote this review from 2019/07/21-10:01 to 07/29-16:45 as I played the game, and cleaned up after.
Intro
I’m a Rally fan, but ‘cuz I can’t imagine myself watching official highlights or going to events just to see a single section of a course, I can’t be bothered to watch, so I just play. I think Enduro is better for watching, but I don’t know, prove me wrong on Rally being boring to watch.
I played Colin McRae Rally 2005 last year and finished DiRT 3 this year. 2005 is one of my favorite racing games, and DiRT 3 was great. So, when I saw this game on Steam, I thought it looked similar to the former, and I decided to buy it.

An awful game.
Whatever good it has, it’s from Xpand Rally, its predecessor. The only thing new to the game is special stages, but they are almost impossible to win fairly. Either your AI opponent will drive into a wall at the beginning, or you will have a very hard time keeping up with him.
The regular races are hardly different from XR — well, the US stages are exactly the same. Asphalt physics is still terrible. Winter stages were removed completely — you won’t even have to use all your arsenal of different tyres, only two types are needed for most of the game.

Pros:
+++ One of the best handling models i have experienced in a driving game. It is not necessarily realistic, it is one of a kind and it feels great to drive. It is also balanced well between keyboard, controller and a driving wheel.
++ Challenge mode, where you race against yourself in a time trial and acquire trophies. The difficulty is well balanced even for a skilled driver, unexperienced players may need some practice to acquire trophies.

Amazing game!
Challenging but very rewarding driving physics that take a while to learn but that just makes the satisfaction of nailing a corner even greater.
Game runs smoothly and looks great, I’ve been playing on DualShock4 and the game feels responsive and vibration feels pretty good. Haven’t encountered any glitches yet either! Only a few cars and tracks right now but hey that’s early access, there’s more on the way. Had a quick stab at multiplayer and had some fun races, the 3 minute qualifying format is really fun. Nice to see a functioning track vote system too.

Pure Rock Crawling
Let’s start with the countless hours of spin tires, mudrunner and beam NG i’ve played to get my rock crawling fix. IRL i own a 08' JK on one tons/40’s, but have to travel far to wheel. Having a game dedicated strictly to just the art of crawling is amazing because i may not get the full satisfaction i get from the real thing, but these sims are the closest thing. This game specifically will be much better than those counterparts because it’s strictly dedicated to crawling rather than a logging road or a crash dummy course. If crawling interest you, then i believe you should most certainly purchase this game and support the great work this dev have put into this games current state. Which it’s in great shape and hopefully continues with the same momentum with your support ;)

[EDIT: 11/1/21018 Originally I said that the physics made the cars feel as if light, miniature cars. I no longer feel that’s the case. Not sure which update is the cause, but it did a great job of crreating the feeling of full size, full weight vehicles. VERY NICE!
–—————————————————
Pure Rock Crawling is one of those games on Steam that calls out for a three-tier rating system. There’s plenty of good (and some not so good), so I decided to enjoy the best, and rate based on the game concept and hopes that come with all Early Access games. Thus, a positive rating, and every hope for a brighter, larger future.
