Beach Bounce
Beach Bounce was the second game developed and published by Dharker Studio, back in the summer of 2015. Since then, the game has been “remastered”, to improve several things, and it surely did.
Beach Bounce is the first game of the Bounce Series. Two other games are available, Beauty Bounce released in February of 2017, and Bunny Bounce, released in March of the same year.
In Beach Bounce we take the role of Tomoyo Oshiro, a young man who receives an invitation to be of assistance at his grandmother business, a resort named Beach Bounce.

Lacking in both the ‘visual’ and ‘novel’ departments. I cannot recommend it even if you’re just in for the adult content; there’s relatively little adult art and what’s there has little variety.
Without spoiling the plot, short story short you end up working at the resort after you arrive. Everyone there is female of course and they want you big time. While ‘working’ you make chit-chat (filled with blushy “hehe”, “hihi”, and “tehihi”) and end up going on dates after work, or just getting food and totally not going on a date. After realizing you are the epitome of the perfect man they throw themselves at you, leaving you the all-important plot choice of bang or don’t bang (which happens to make up the majority of decisions in the game). You may think this is a gross exaggeration and there’s lots of build-up, tension, seduction, perhaps even romance involved, but more than once you
! literally get a knock at your door and get propositioned on the spot. In the two currently present chapters your decisions make no difference apart from a few changed sentences. 5 out of the 7 women in the game’s banner art will offer themselves to you no matter what you do, the rest doubtless to follow in later chapters. The actual plot is brought up only occasionally and you just spend your time chatting up the ladies so far.

Walkerman
-The game has a some nice backgrounds and overall the art is good but the backgrounds get used over and over and over. The same can be said about the characters, you get the odd flip left and right but the amount of actual unique art is very limited.
-The sound/music is alright, nothing to right home about, but the blaring “Walkerman” headbanger outro after each act… fml.
-The game/narrative is a blatant rip off of The Witcher, I am actually surprised that the developer hasn’t had a legal injunction filed against him, maybe there is just enough changed for it not to be considered intellectual property theft… If you have never played the Witcher, do yourself a a favour and run and grab it and stay clear of this.

I am a big fan of a well written story a a choice centered story where the choices you make have a real effect and this game very much delivered on that for me. It’s a shame it hasn’t gotten more attention really.
+Pros
-The music is very enjoyable for the most part, the main theme was a bit jarring at first but it grew on me in a campy way.
- The main character seems to have a lot of depth to him and has an actual personality in him, rather than many games like this where the main character is as much of a blank slate as possible.

9-nine-:Episode 1
don’t mind my game time.
on the first playthrough you’re forced to a bad end. and my god, that bad end is heartbreaking.
on the second playthrough, you’re then forced to pick all 4 correct answers to get the good end.
that branch-out from bad to good was… let’s just say unoriginal. I’m not against this kind of system per se, however it’s what the “correct answer” that bothers me. basically you have to be a white knight simp to the main girl every time or you’ll get a bad end. if there’s anything I’ve learned in my past, its that nice guys always finish last. frankly speaking, this is gynocentrism, and it’s seeping into the world of VNs.

9-nine: Episode 1 was way more enjoyable than I expected, sorry for being presumptuous again.
First, as usual I fell for breathtaking art. Can’t say that visual novels with male MC and cute girls are my favorite but when chars are so adorable I can’t help but find the whole experience at least relaxing. Bright colors, very detailed & precise backgrounds, stunning CGs… What a sight for sore eyes! And the novel is voiced with the option to turn off the MC’s voice. It’s the first time I see this feature. Not that it’s what I’d ever use myself but it’s still rather considerate to other players.

9-nine-:Episode 2
I like Kazuki Fumi but unfortunately I can’t agree with a popular opinion about EP2 being an improvement compared to EP1.
I feel like the biggest problem of EP2 is that they tried to appeal to their “you don’t need to read a previous EP to enjoy this one”. Pretty much the first half of the game is wasted on reintroduction of things you know already.
There are bits of new info but in the end it all felt like a filler episode where our main characters have to bring a mid boss down in order to move forward. When you think about it, most of that info could be introduced way more efficiently.

Minor spoilers to follow.
After the middling first episode, the second part of Nine-9 is a definite improvement. I guess the elephant in the room that we should get out of the way is that this is the sister route, and yes, it is a romance route like the others. The vanilla Steam version keeps it somewhat more subdued, however it’s very much a central part of the story.
That said, Sora is a funny and hyperactive girl, and I enjoyed her route a lot. Some strong creative liberties seem to have been taken with the translation of her dialogue, including the infamous “broski” but honestly, I think it’s funny and it works.

KARAKARA
This is a plaintext version of the full GameCynic review (with gallery)
Supported in part by a successful Indiegogo funding campaign earlier in 2016, Japanese developer Calme’s debut title is a short visual novel centered around the daily life of Leon, who struggles to keep his café open in a post-disaster era.
Visual novels — games which are essentially watching anime at your own pace, with little to no actual gameplay — are often a difficult genre to do well. Their simplicity means that storyline often makes or breaks a game, and a market saturated by home made, amateur titles can often overwhelm new developers. Luckily for KARAKARA, this isn’t a problem, thanks to strong personalities for the main characters.

If I had to describe KARAKARA in one sentence, I’d say “It’s Fallout meets NEKOPARA, but not as competent as either one”. Now if that intrigues you, please read on.
KARAKARA is a fully kinetic visual novel. That means there’s no plot choices, no dating sim elements, not even a petting button or localized earthquakes. It functions like a standard visual novel, with static backgrounds and slightly animated character sprites. I really like the visual style, particularly with how colors are balanced. If I had to complain about anything, I’d say everything is just a bit too bright, but it’s not bad. As for audio, the music isn’t exactly remarkable, but it makes for a good background. There’s also sound effects that get the job done similarly, and the voice acting was at least good enough that I didn’t mute it.

Ne no Kami - The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto Part 2
Part 2 of the Visual Novel is as action and story rich as the first part.
With a ending twist with the last part, and a intense battle on the start of the second part, with an even more deeper story buiding with all the events and hint gathering, the story continues its fascinating way towar the hardest of the emotions, be itlovee, be it pain, or even sadness and Bloodspread. The events take quite a harsch turn of pace, which deepens aswell the resolve of the young generation.
The twist between humor and seriousness akes it a very lively, yet grabbing story which captivates any reader in an amazing adventure.

Good shit. A pretty significant upgrade from the first game; plot and characterization were both very strong and the yuri scenes (do purchase the accompanying uncensor patch from denpasoft) were significantly sexier. I’m definitely hyped for (a potential?) part 3.
Regarding the ending, although part 2 does leave room for continuation, it comes to a much more concrete/complete ending point compared to the cliffhanger from part 1, in a sense completing in arc. For readers worried about being left on the brink of a story that never gets finished I would say that no longer applies to this series.

Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto
Bought this lured by the yuri… ended up enjoying the main story a lot more than I expected, and the romantic aspects a lot less than I expected.
The story in this game is mainly about a civilian girl getting dragged away from her everyday life and enlisted to fight in a centuries-long war, her reactions to it, and her questioning of the validity of the conflict.
I found that very interesting, and I thought the battle scenes were especially well done. I enjoyed the detail and tactical aspects to them, and the music for those scenes is really good; almost Guilty Gear style music.

I just red through this VN and I’d like to share my opinion on this one.
I am no VN connoisseur but I can appreciate a good storytelling. This story had me confused the first few minnutes, thought I am missing something, like a game that came before this but no, right after chapter 1 I was hooked. There’s war upon us and you just get thrown in the middle of it and have your perspective on reality shaken. As you go through this, you encounter more and more mysteries not only about the world but about the hero herself. It’s exactly those mysteries that kept me going through.

Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange 2 is an episodic, story driven, supernatural-ish game in which your decisions will change the outcome of the story between the two brothers as well as their friends they made on the way.
Story
The main protagonist of Life is Strange 2 is Sean Diaz who tries to get to Mexico with his little brother Daniel Diaz after a tragic event at their home, in which Sean discovered that his little brother has some sort of supernatural abillity. Wanted by the police, the two brothers try their best to strengthen their bond on the way to their father’s hometown Puerto Lobos.

If you’re craving anything even remotely similar to the storytelling in Life is Strange 1 or Before the Storm, you should may as well look elsewhere. If you don’t like social themes in you games – regardless of subtlety or lack thereof – you’re probably wasting your time, too.
Minor plot spoilers for Life is Strange 1 and 2.
On a technical level, LiS 2 far surpasses LiS 1 and even BTS. Environments feel much less static. Dialogue is more fluid. You’ll find yourself wandering around, only to discover little quips and comments from Sean, Daniel, or the other characters minutes later. The animations are spectacular. Lip-syncing is no longer puppet-quality, although that issue was mostly resolved in BTS. You’ve got your standard Dontnod/Deck Nine beautiful environmental shots. While on the topic of visuals, LiS 2 is undoubtedly the most visually diverse Life of Strange game to date. You get to see sleepy small towns blanketed in snow, redwood forests in California, scorched deserts. You even get a small taste of that original LIfe is Strange vibe (you know what I mean if you play it) in Episode 1 that sort of lulls you into a false sense of security. You think for a second that this game will be kind of like the other Life is Strange games. Boy, are you going to be in for a shock.

This is my opinion just for the PROLOGUE based on what I experienced and what I feel after finished watching.
I received the Chapter 1 for free from the developer giveaway itself but I haven’t watching it yet.
PROS
–Artstyle.
I like the type of the simple character and environment drawing artstyle.
–Dialogue/story.
For me at least, the story is good to listen. I’m quite curious to know next chapter.
CONS
–I think this game is buggy, sometimes after finished cutscene especially the pink purple galaxy with stars, it keep repeating after I click to the next cutscene, I heard the voice, but the image is stuck and repeat on the galaxy scene with no subtitles for more than 6 times. In other case, if I press spacebar which is pause and menu, and after return to play, the cutscene and the commentator also repeat himself spoke again from previous dialogue.
