JAAHG: The Crows Cry
I figured I would check this out and give it the benefit of the doubt since it only had one review and it was negative. I played about 25 minutes and it just wasn’t that great. Sure if it was a free game I would sure check it out it can’t hurt to try it out but for $5 I would say save your money. The premise is standard so you have to find 5 boxes of evidence to see if you are in the location of the missing children. Great, but there isn’t any dialog or papers or anything that explains and expands on a story. It’s just 5 brown boxes that say ‘CLUE?’. Sure that’s fine but is the monster scary? Nope. It’s a scarecrow that will randomly appear and you have to just walk around it.

Darkanoid
Oh yeah! the best version of the great arkanoid. The one-man added to the collection. Classic with modern graphics, I think that there will be no better versions, except maybe some kind of 3D mod) but still I think the limit has been reached and there is no better option than this one)

I love Arkanoid since Dandy and have played a great many, but Darkanoid was able to surprise and delight. The familiar gameplay here is diluted with just a ton of different mechanics and chips that make each new level something interesting and exciting, and most importantly, not like the past.
Oh yes, there are also barefoot shoes, and believe me, they will organize a strong burning for you in the lower back, but it’s worth it.
Overall, this is by far one of the best (if not the best) Arkanoid I’ve played. Nice picture, sound, many levels and mechanics. I definitely recommend it.

Dear Agony Aunt
A cute, quirky little game about answering agony aunt emails. Very simple but a nice experience. The only feedback I have is that it would be nice to be able to resize the email windows since there’s a lot of empty space on the screen

Saturday Morning RPG
I love Saturday Morning RPG. It’s so bad.
Remember the eighties?
Remember sitting in front of your TV on Saturday morning, soaking up the cartoon goodness?
How it was all ridiculously over-the-top and crazy, but somehow, at the end of every half an hour episode, everything worked out?
Well, if you remember those days fondly, you’ll find a lot to love in Saturday Morning RPG.
The trouble is, you’ll also find less fun things there, too.
Memory can be a fickle thing.
So, What Is Saturday Morning RPG?
– Real player with 42.4 hrs in game
I find it a shame and astonishing that a game as good as Saturday Morning RPG has not done better commercially. The game has some crazy achievements, such as fighitng 1,000 and even up to 5,000 battles, based on an initial idea of 20 episodes. Since it didn’t do well, they had to limit their ambitions to six episodes, hopefully with a fine tuning of the achievements in the future.
But why is all this necessary? The game has everyone a gamer would be looking for. A series of episodes with a simple story, with tons of nostalgic references for one thing. I mean the main character is a guy named Marty, who rides a hoverboard, and gets his powers from a mysterious man known as The Wizard. The retro graphics are a joy to behold, the music is killer, and the gameplay is a very solid Paper Mario/Super Mario RPG type of thing, with button presses for better defense and better attacks.

Poi
I’ve been playing this game since the very, very early versions of the Early Access release, before cameras and costumes were a thing, but I’ve taken a long, long time to write a review, mostly because I’m having a hard time to fully express my feelings about this game. There are way too many things to talk about, which means this is going to be a rather lengthy review, and it might also be all over the place due to the amount of stuff that comes to mind, but let’s dive right in.
I’ve spent most of my teenage years and all of my early adulthood wishing for the “perfect” 3D platformer, one that combined most of the things I like in a single, awesome package. I dreamed of a game with a rich, vast world to explore. It had to have a lot of secrets and tricks to discover, but it also had to have well designed platforming and action to boot, and the atmosphere had to evoke feelings of childlike wonderment and adventurous endeavors in boththe soundtrack, the visuals and the story. The characters had to be adorable and stylish, and the gameplay had to be smooth and thrilling.

Poi is a good Mario clone. End of story now get out of the review section and buy the game if you want to kill a good 32 hours collecting things.
okay that’s not entirely true so read this instead
PLOT
You and your sister run away from the city in order to find Adventure. On your adventure to find adventure you meet up with Mario in his mid 80’s who asks you to get his sonic ring with ribbons attached to it down from a tall stump due to him being a crotchety old man who can’t do it himself. So you jump to the top of the stump, grab his ring and when you bring it back to him he tells you that the ring is called an “Explorers Medallion” and they are foudn all over the world. So he asks you and your sister if you want to get on his magic flying whale blimp to find him and since choice matters as much as it did in TellTale’s Walking Dead Season 1 in this game, you say yes and off the three of you go to go get the Medallions and save the world or something

ToeJam and Earl: Back In The Groove is a wonderful and super fun game and amazing for multiplayer co-op. This is a remake of the original in terms of gameplay but with extra content and a new story, new characters and new presents. There are lots of new earthlings as well and some new world types (biomes?).

This game is as close to being as good as the original as you can get while coming up just shy of it. I think the thing I found that I liked the least were the new sound effects. It took a while to figure it out but I think if I was able to use the original sound effects in the new game I would enjoy the experience more. The sound effects from new content however are no issue, but all the new versions of the old sound effects are not as good.

Simple Light Cycles
Ridiculously simple idea makes for ridiculous fun! Awesome game that deserves more traction and attention than it gets. May seem like a one trick pony, but with so many modifiers it really isn’t.

I grabbed this up on a sale thinking if it wasn’t great, it was a small loss. We added it to our party games for a group of 8 people (4 at a time, using Steam Link + Controllers).
It was a surprise favorite! Everyone loved it, and we ended up coming back to it several times after playing other games.
It’s great fun, highly recommended for any party gaming group, especially since it’s such a simple concept everyone picks it up quickly, but the skill to do those tight areas well will keep the game challenging for any group!
