Incel Syndrome

Incel Syndrome

“disgraceful caricature of us truecels”

Read the whole demo and i gotta say im not surprised at all what I read. Its another piece to put down lonely men in their 20s for not having success with women. The game has the same narrative that most media has on incels or adult virgin men. They are all either mass shooters waiting to happen or just smelly neets in their mother’s basement, while the game attempts to sound smart with its quotes from Otto. Notice how no where in the game a woman seems irrational. Of course that can change when they release the whole game but i highly doubt they will show the ugly side of women in todays society cuz truly lonely men are the worst of our race right? Normies will never understand the lonely male which is why they will just throw all of them in the extreme category of the incel group. Congrats on the cringey ass demo cant wait for the whole game so i can shit on it and laugh more

Is a novel, no a game-novel, rather full novel with no relevant decisions. The following comment is therefore a review of the plot (No Spoilers).

This stuff is not for everyone, hardcore incel issues, 90% of the characters are assholes (except for Jhon, love that bastard), thick text, references to a certain goverment in Germany in the 1930´s, and so on. However, I would argue the plot is pretty well done, the conflict of the main character is real, the characters are all flesh-made weak-but-true people and one can even extract an idea or two from this philosophy-elevated 4chan rant. The backgrounds and the music are perfectly aligned with the plot and so on.

DEKONSTRUKT

DEKONSTRUKT

DEKONSTRUKT is an interactive movie, with elements of first-person gameplay. You will be immersed in the inglorious story of a game developer with plenty of destructive black humor. The game responds to never-before-seen creative challenges. Help the protagonist deal with his inner demons. Or not really.

As you can see, the game tries with all its might to seem like it’s not just another triviality. In other words, my mother grew a vegetable, even though she is not a gardener.

✔ A story that will stay in your memory for a long time.

Turbo Kid

Turbo Kid

Turbo Kid is a BMX-powered pixel-art Metroidvania gore-fest based on the film of the same name.

This is the future, the world as we know it is gone. You are The Kid, a lone warrior on a journey to cross the Wasteland in search of hope. What you will find on your way however is a land riddled with scoundrels and creeps which you’ll have to go through - sometimes quite literally - in order to survive.

Turbo Kid’s choc-full-of-mayhem Turbo Glove™ will help make your quest smoother and much, much bloodier! Turbo Blast, Electric Shocks, your trusty machete, and then some; use the array of weapons at your disposal to slash, rip apart, or explode enemies into hysterical and over-the-top splashes of gore!

Run, crawl, jump, hang, and, for the very first time in a Metroidvania (don’t research this), bike your way through the levels! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the height of human-powered transport technology: the BMX Bike!

Move around the map faster, access new areas, and practice your bike tricks in preparation for the 1998 Wasteland Olympics Freestyle BMX Event. No need to find an unrusted fence to lock your bike in this game! It’ll be there at the touch of a button whenever you need it.

Our story begins immediately after the events of the movie, as the Kid, you must cross the Wasteland after losing a friend in a tragic bloody battle. On your way, you will meet an array of colorful characters, some friends, some foes, and some in-between, who will offer advice, quests, fights, and jokes (lots of jokes).

We’re really proud of the story we’ve created for the game and we think you’ll enjoy it too. That being said, if you’re only in it for the gameplay and the story isn’t for you, you won’t even need to skip the cutscenes, you can basically just ignore and walk past them.

Like the Metroidvanias of old, TURBO KID allows you to explore the different zones and defeat bosses in the order you see fit, favoring exploration and discovery over a linear narrative. Over the course of the game, you will also be asked to make personal and moral choices that will affect the process of the game allowing for multiple playthroughs with different paths and outcomes.

The Zodiac Trial

The Zodiac Trial

If you like murder mystery or death game visual novels, this is absolutely worth your time. I would go as far as to say it is deceptively good, I tried the demo and had mixed feelings but figured “hey, I love death games, I want to see this one through”. And you know what? Basically as soon as I left the demo content and got to the real game, the game made me very glad I did purchase it.

Quite a few characters during the intro feel… annoying. Kidnapped and in a terrifying situation, nearly half of the group seem to be way too optimistic in various ways. Having an optimistic character is one thing, but half the cast felt like idiots, basically. Then leaving the demo and getting to the routes, you see how these characters act when the stakes are there, and as you start learning more about these characters past their initial impressions, and realize the intro is pretty seriously flanderizing them, probably partly so you instantly get each character’s gimmicks. Eventually you get to the point where you start realizing that some of these optimists are really already scheming through how they present themselves to the others at the start, and most characters come off as far more interesting and unique once you get to see more depth to them.

10/10. Lane Hawkins, the writer/director/producer of this game (saw it in the end credits), is all kinds of clever and passionate, and has blessed us with this gem of a game. The rest of his team have done great work as well, obviously, as aspects of this game aside from the writing also elevate it to a level of greatness it otherwise would not achieve. I do not personally deem many games to be a 10/10 lightly, either, being a pretty darn snooty elitist of a gamer who only holds games in such high regard that delight me virtually the entire time I’m playing them and leave me brimming with joy for hours afterward. It just makes me sad that Steam only allows for “Recommended” and “Not Recommended” ratings, because merely giving The Zodiac Trial a thumbs up is a travesty.

Whateverland: Prologue

Whateverland: Prologue

This is a great Demo that has made me very interested in donating to the Kickstarter and I strongly hope it succeeds as I would love to see the full game. The art style, gameplay mechanics and quirky writing are very good for a teaser, really appeals to my weird sense of humour. It reminds me a lot of Pinstripe, another dark comedy indie game I love but this game seems to offer more replay value.

My two biggest complaints are 1) the Voice Acting needs improving, the voices for the supporting characters are fine enough they have a fitting quirkiness to them but the Voice of the main character is honestly quite dull, since this is just a demo for the Kickstarter it’s understandable, I just hope final version has better voice and 2) I was stuck at the Pickpocketing segment as no matter what buttons I pressed I couldn’t return the pick I had selected to replace it with one I needed, maybe I missed something and if so would apreciate it if someone told me, I hope this mechanic becomes more understandable how to use in full release.

This game introduction episode, imo, is charming and witty.

Being a free Prologue, this is obviously a short enticement for the full game.

Exploring the area, mechanics, design, dialogue, acting, story and puzzles were fun, smooth and a really good incentive to complete the adventure.

I found the characters to be delightful and already, am invested in them and the storyline.

My second run-thru, to complete the achievements, was quick, with the skip scene abilities, except for some scenes, and the alternate dialogues were interesting.

Deep Night Detective - Chapter One

Deep Night Detective - Chapter One

A very fun and addicting game so far. I can say for certain though, there were a couple of times where I couldn’t progress due to some bugs.

The pros. it’s a great and charming game! The dialogue is amazing and charming, and with very funny observations from the Detective that adds to their personality. The music is great and how it’s used in this game is well done, especially with the interrogation segment with Mrs. Bordeaux. The controls, though a little confusing in the beginning, is comfortable to use when you get used to it and when you do it controls well.

im honestly hyped for chapter 2

The pixel art, the story, the gameplay… it’s all just so god damn good.

I’m a sucker for any sort of 2D platformers, so I’m kinda biased, but this game is amazing. It can be a bit buggy, and I’ll list all the bugs I found later on, but other than those bugs (one which made me have to reset and play the whole chapter from the beginning) every part of this game is perfectly executed.

Anyways, here’s some feedback:

Every character is interesting and so are the relationships between them. I hate reading through stuff and I tend to just mash through all of the dialogue, but I can’t in this game. Reading about how supernatural stuff works in this game is so much fun and so is asking people questions. The whole thing with the case book (I don’t remember what it’s called) makes it really easy to keep track of what’s going on and really keep you interested in the case.

CARNAL

CARNAL

My opportunity to play CARNAL has come after hearing about it in the E1M1 Magazine blog. It sure does look and feel retro, but here are my ups and downs

Pros

-Neat and effective weaponry

-Diverse enemy lineup from your usual soldiers with weapons to T-Rexes with rocket launchers and self-operated lawn mowers, PLUS shopping carts with minds of their own

-Nice level visuals, giving the atmosphere of a pretty desolate environment overrun by the Sons of Anak clan

-Retro soundtrack, ranging from Quake levels of ambience to intensely amazing bangers

Real player with 28.3 hrs in game

I like this game’s graphical style and level design (at least it’s not another ‘abstract sci-fi levels’ style retro-FPS) and there are many enemy types, but the whole game desperatly needs some polish.

The protagonist’s ‘pain sound’ is atrocious and the controls are sometimes very bad, you have to press jump to go up on a staircase, etc.

The enemies are too small and too silent (and too dumb) and technically they aren’t hitscan, but almost.

I understand that the creator of this game wants a life system instead of saving, but the game is way too hard in this way.

Idol Manager

Idol Manager

I put 88 hours into this game. The most standout part of it was the writing really had no business being as good as it was in this game, that is pretty clearly low budget and lacks some polish. I think if they would have kept fixing some of the bugs and polishing it for a month or two more before releasing, it could have easily been so much better and they could have charged twice as much. Also, having the 18+ version as DLC. I used the decensor patch (which turns it into more of an ecchi game, nothing hardcore), and while it didn’t make the game any better at the core, it did add a certain level of spice to elevate the experience.

This is the kinda game that I stayed up til 5am playing multiple times and when I finally reached the story mode ending early this morning I immediately asked my roommate “hey what do I do with my life now.” (Obviously the answer is to get the remaining endings and achievements but like. first playthrough is done there’s no going back to it.)

The story was a lot more interesting than I was expecting, but even without it the business sim part holds up imo. It’s really easy to get attached to the idols, and it’s fun and satisfying to help them earn fame and awards and such. Definitely don’t do what I did and buy this the week before two big projects are due though. For the sake of my grades I have to leave it alone for a while lmfao.

Very frustrating, but insanely fun to play!!!

Although when closing the game, keep in mind it doesnt save progress.

Had a lot of fun playing and will definitely play it again, might even try to beat nr. on leaderboard ;)

Game is pretty fun, you can do quest to gain bonus(like the grappling hook on the tongue)/malus which in return, will affect the ending you get (6 ending, with cutscene coming up in the future) Gameplay is solid with or without the grappling hook and theres a baby mode with checkpoints for people who don’t handle rage well

Map design is really well done although simple, you have a basic design, and you have a harder path once you’ve become better at then game, that skip thing but is, well, harder.
