The Revenge of Shinobi
– Real player with 0.4 hrs in game
The Revenge of the Shinobi is a Sega Mega Drive exclusive sequel to the original arcade Shinobi game. This time it was inspired heavily by all those cheesy western Ninja movies and it was now designed as console game instead of arcade one, for example there no 1-hit deaths anymore and more levels. The game was made by Sega of Japan and came out in 1989 on 4 Megabit cartridge, becoming Mega Drive’s early killer app before Sonic. Because Shinobi was awesome!
The game that you have here is nothing more than emulation of Sega Genesis version. Well, almost. You see, when came was launched, it actually had a whole load of licensed character that it wasn’t supposed to have. Godzilla, Rambo, Batman, a whole bunch. From what I understood, it was because the Artist was way too faithful to Game Designer’s placeholders. And where it was “supposed to look similar to Rambo” he drew Rambo. But don’t take it 100% true, I am still unsure.

Mononoke Slashdown
I totally recommend this game (if you don’t mind the price).
I think the honest value would be 50% of what it costs, the game is very fast, very repetitive (in the good sense of repetitive)
you can beat the game in 3hours easily, it’s like an arcade game.
basically it’s a mash simulator, but with some small variations of combos and items (kunai).
if you’ve played odin sphere, the satisfaction in the combo is the same, but much simpler combos.
don’t expect anything from the enemies' artificial intelligence, they’re just standing there to take damage.

Shadow Dancer™

Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi is arcade action game. It’s a sequel to original arcade Shinobi, following same core gameplay philosophy instead of redoing it like The Revenge of Shinobi, keeping one-hit deaths. But now with more dog. You might think that it’s a direct port of original arcade version of Shadow Dancer, made by Sega of Japan in 1989. But nope, it actually is pretty much “same idea for core gameplay, but made from scratch”. Like remake/sequel thing. Different levels for sure. Think of ESWAT, though a bit less drastic. This one was by Sega of Japan as well, albeit I bet it’s by different staff, and released around beggining of 1991 on 4 Megabit ROM cartridge.

Mini Ninjas
Mini ninjas,
one of my personal favorite games from my childhood
Opening the box to the wii and my grandmother having purchased all my siblings a game was an amazing christmas morning and i wanted to play immediatly being the only actual “gamer” out of all my siblings…
this wasnt the case though as wii sports was already being booted up whilst we all looked like a bunch of maniacs all wanting to play ours games, but first i had to wait as i was the youngest and everyone was getting 1 hour to try out their game in order of age so that everybody could play (and prefferably co-op games only my parents said) 5 hours later as im the youngest it was finally my turn and with multiple breaks like dinner and family stopping by it was already pretty late, not only late but my bedtime and not a co op game, so there i go not having played the game i was looking forward to all day… well i did play the game that day actually which follows up a way to long cycle of me secretly playing games at night troughout my entire childhood…

Steam is home to a lot of crap, and I do mean a lot.. But it also is home to a number of hidden gems that no one really talks about much.
Mini Ninjas is one of those gems. A bit of an imperfect one, sure, but a gem nontheless. And like many hidden gems, it doesn’t get a whole lot of attention.
The game is kinda an action adventure game, with small elements of RPG and stealth. You play the role of a ninja named Hiro, who is tasked with finding all his lost friends and saving the world while he is at it. A lot of pressure, I know, but then you are a ninja with the power to control the elements, so it shouldn’t be too hard (Which kinda is a problem for the game, I’ll explain later)

Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition
My proudest gaming achievement.
Sekiro is a rock hard, unforgiving, thrilling, beautiful, roller coaster of a ride. Any Souls game experience you have will actually work against you in Sekiro for the most part. It takes the From Software formula in a completely new direction that was initially frustrating for me but ended up be incredibly fulfilling.
My initial playthrough was going along great until I ran into Shinobi Hunter Enshin of Misen. That guy was the biggest brick wall of any From Software game for me. I actually gave up for awhile but eventually it clicked. I Got Gud as they say.

Mark of the Ninja
I’m long time due with a review about Mark of the Ninja, as it’s gameplay and way of presentation captivated me from it’s first level.
Gameplay-wise the game is an stealth game - but unlike games like Thief series, here you can dispatch your enemies in various ways - if you want to.
You can arm yourself with incredible variety of tools - you can change your skin/cloth, resulting in a different combat style that can alter your health, pool of distraction or offense items, and sometimes introducing unique traits to that combat style.

I personally wasn’t a fan of Klei’s previous games, like Shank and Eets. I felt they were meh at best, extremely frustrating at worst. It doesn’t really help that puzzle games and beat em' ups weren’t exactly my forte.
And then they just went and released one of the best stealth games ever made out of flipping nowhere.
Pros (+) :
- Excellent level design, 95% of the rooms have more than one way of sneaking around, and many of them will require you to use your brain. How will you get around these lasers ? How will you sneak past these guards ? How will you open that door ?

Onimusha: Warlords
Onimusha: Warlords is a great but flawed remastered classic game. But let’s talk about the story.
Japan doring the Sengoku period, it has been one year since Nobunaga was fatally wounded and assumed dead.
Samanosuke a strong worrier who watched the battle soon gets a letter from his childhood friend Princess Yuki, who says that monsters have appeared and are taking her people.
So with his friend Kaede’s help they soon go to the castle, but what awaits them is more horrifying then anything they have faced and more powerful than any human they fought.
