So 320 hours of gameplay, met many super nice folks, visited all areas multiple times (Map is huge). Super stoked i gave this game a shot upon release!

Developers are really friendly and work really hard, updates have been frequent, sometimes daily depending on what theyre working on. Lots of exciting things to come in the future of Capsa, but need to give them time. Just 2 developers and the game hasn’t been out long at all. Lots has changed from the short amount of time it has been released.

So far I have spent like 32 hours in Capsa and not one minute was boring.

Even if the community is still small it is growing, but you can easily spend hours exploring by yourself.

I didn’t even visit all of the islands yet, but found a marvellous place for my home…just imagine a house directly on a beach with your own mooring to the right there is a romantic looking lighthouse and I can listen to my favorite music while dancing with a friend or simply gazing at the sunset!

When I feel like going somewhere else I can choose between a boat, a horse or a buggy to go wherever I please in this huge open world.

With 542 battles and 65 hours of gameplay (im on level 56 with four Tier 3 ships) i can only advise: avoid it, its a badly balanced game with bad matchmaking. The main problems are equal as you seen in WoT: you will be angry on your team mates whose run headlessly into battle and die in the 1st min, left you back with 3-4 enemies. Usually if you try to grind up your heavy ship you will be put into battle with 3 enemy submarines. Your double daily runs will fruit 0 XP, because subs kill you in your way with not even knowing what hit you or where are you hit from. No chance to win, prepare to lose even 3 or 4 kills matches…

Really good game!

Its got Battleships (the heavy craft)

Cruisers (Medium craft)

Destroyers (Light craft)

and subs!

Its fast paced and you can use depth charges!

It’s WoWs without fire mechanics… WT’s boat thing, but with subs! Steel ocean’s depth charge/subs, but the ships and subs are much better in terms of movement (the turns are more realistic) and in the aiming…

This game gives you ROCKETS! Which is sick! Not only that, the torpedoes are really fast! And takes skill to hit them, it does have something to help aim the torps (which is really good!). You can hide behind an island, deep dive or use smoke to hide from enemy fire. Wows mechanics - use conceilment BS…. DDs never spotted, smoke is always up, random BS like that…. This game just needs more players and people to give it more of a chance - its really good! There are some mechanics that could use some work, but I haven’t been able to pinpoint which ones yet… Just feels like one or two mechanics (maybe how the sub feels when aiming, you can’t see much…)

Still in very - Very - early stages of development. Probably too early to be considered a functional “game.” Controls are limited and awkward. Ship selection, grouping, unit orders are not intuitive. Ship options, upgrades, specializations not present. Features like zoom and a minimap are not user friendly. And of course the graphics, to include artillery fire and ship destruction, are bare bones basic. But with time and effort, all that can be ironed out.

I think the creator is looking for a ship combat experience akin to that found in Total War Empires, but of course with flying capital ships. What’s not to love about that?

Neat little game but completly bare bones think of this as a glorified demo.

So if you are not a hardcore naval and ship combat nut like me I don’t recommend you spending your cash yet.

But hey if you do buy this five buck game then good for you! You’re helping a person to finish their game.

Naval Battles Simulator

The more I play this game the more I see the potential but more the really bad failings. For those old enough to remember, this looks like a re-vamp of an old DOS Game, I think it was something like Great Pacific Sea Battles which was on Amiga and had about 5 different versions. This game reflects that in most ways with a modern twist. It is a slow time, strategy game where you put ships against each other. Its very basic but kind of addictive and will bring out the inner tactician in you.I wish I could give this a neutral review because the developer would appear not to be English, and the English is fairly poor - understandable, but for an English speaker it loses gloss.A lot of the controls are not perfected. For example, if you click on your own ship in the “Damage” screen with your right mouse button, you will either damage your own ship or flood it. Additionally, when you try to purposely flood parts of your ship, you can’t stop the balance of water when it stops. It’s little things like this that need to be tweaked as they are frustrating parts of gameplay.Additionally, if you choose a battle you can flick between the Axis and Allies - which takes away the fog of war element depending on which side you choose. The Campaign part is the most promising but also the most frustrating - the tutorial gives you a basic idea of how to operate your ship and this works well for the Battles only element. But the Campaign is just difficult to understand.I would love to work on the developers with the English and suggestions on how to make this game better and more usable. For the older generation who don’t want all flashy graphics but the equivalent of a large tactical naval game of chess, this game has potential - but needs to be improved to give a solid thumbs up.In its current state its not worth the price tag due to poor English, buggy controls and lack of a Campaign tutorial. But the simplicity and playability of its game is worth investing in, if it was under 10 pounds.Good potential, not finished article yet.

As said somewhere on Community Hub “Don’t let simple interface fool you”.

You can decide how deep you want to dive into management. Either CPUvsCPU strategy and clicking on Automatic battle (to be able to replay if not satisfied with outcome), or manually design route to each convoy and control every battle same way manually.

Game have clear representation model of major naval objects enough for good variety and complexity of gameplay. There is some drawbacks and some advancements, but when you get understanding what exact action does and what does not you get some clear way to do the things.

Now I totally dislike WOW simply because the accuracy of the weapons is totally random and you have no control over your secondary weps.

I come from Steel Ocean where accuracy isn’t rng but since they aren’t doing anything to get more players I moved on over a year ago.

I recently found this game and while it takes alot from WOWs, ie the rng accuracy element it’s actually quite fun once you realize there is a method to the gameplay and adjust.

It’s free and getting a match is fairly expedient unless you try and team up, since there isn’t alot of players. I wish you could team up against bots when you can’t find a match otherwise.

I like this game and enjoy playing it with pleasure for a couple of rounds. It’s going well for an Early Access game. There is only one thing that really frustrates me and that I think needs a thorough overhaul. It’s about the destroyers (DD). If they are equipped with the appropriate captain, they constantly spit their fog in the area, which makes fighting the DD almost impossible in a battleship. It is utterly ridiculous and far from reality that those pesky insects are buzzing around you and there is absolutely nothing you can do. In so many rounds I just ended up standing around in the smallest circle at the end and the DD fogged everything and I just waited for the storm to do the rest because I have more HP in the battleship. This is just plain ridiculous and boring and absolutely annoying. Otherwise I’m happy about every round and it’s fun to play the whole thing in Battle Royal mode.

Upon starting “The Inner Sea”, you’re shown a table with an old world map on it; or rather a parchment. No islands are shown yet, because the map is literally your playing-field and you haven’t discovered anything yet. After a short story you can choose your ship from three different factions: The Old Continent, Cathay and Arabia. This determines with which model ship you’ll be starting the game with. As far as I’ve noticed there is no special advantage (yet?) to choosing a different starting ship; such as Europeans having a larger hull, Middle-Eastern a higher speed or the Oriental ship more fire-power, but I may be wrong there.

(!!!MAJOR REVIEW CHANGE!!!)

So originally, I had said I would not recommend this game, however I also stated that I would change it if my problems with the game were fixed. So, I am happy to say that with the update 0.7.1 (which was the next update after my review) the following problems have been fixed to my satisfaction.

1: Inability to escape from battle (FIXED)

2: Lack of Warning about losing inventory (FIXED)

3: Quest tracking (FIXED)

Sooo, since all my complaints are fixed to my acceptance, I am happy to change my review to RECOMMEND! I left my complaints so you can see what I was upset about. Hope this helps!

I really got hooked on the construction mechanics, i would definetly play for hours building ships if there were more materials and color options for said materials. A few comments on the construction though, i would really like more available visibility while making designs (360° vision). Most of the UI needs fixing (better construction inventory, texts that fit), but i indeed liked where the game is going and the potential it has. I would love to help in the translation if you are planing to doing it also in spanish. counter or markers for needed sails or weight balance would be great. For now, I’ll keep designing ships till i get the perfect one. Good luck and keep on the good work…

IronWolf VR

IronWolf VR

Ironwolf really nails the idea of being a VR game. Everything (apart from the menus) is controlled by wheels and switches that you have to pull or turn or require other physical tasks. It makes the game much more immersive, yet it doesn’t make the game more annoying or tedious.

The game can be played as singleplayer, but it’s much more fun to play together. Up to 4 players can play together, and the more players are playing, the more fun the game gets. Sadly right now It can be hard to find a full lobby, however it isn’t too hard to find at least 1 player to play with. The community itself is extremely nice too, I didn’t encounter even one player who was toxic, yelled at others or insulted anyone, and mistakes were often forgiven, even if they caused the mission to fail.

First off, love the game, and I am using a Samsung Odyssey Mixed Reality headset and controller - which isn’t listed in the supported headsets, but works great. Controls all work and are where they should be.

The graphics in this game are, in my opinion, not phenominal, but definitely good enough to be a highly immersive experience putting you in a WWII era submarine. I bought a space ship SIM based on a highly popular sci-fi franchise the same day as this one, and while the graphics in that one are very nice and polished, I don’t think it is anywhere near as fun as this game is.

Make Sail

Make Sail

The game is really fun and relaxing. It’s a sandbox ship builder that uses realistic physics to make you feel like you’re really sailing.

TL;DR - The game is great if you want to sail around in a boat you create and look at stunning art, but it is an early access game. Content is a bit lacking, but it will be added as soon as the big bugs are fixed. Great sailing simulator right now.

Pros:

  • Graphics/Art: The graphics/art in MS are wonderful and are very pleasing the look at. 26+ hours in and I’m still taken away by them.

Make Sail is a game with a delightful building system, very enjoyable content, and a constant stream of updates that continue to make a smoother and more awesome experience. it provides a largely tranquil exploration of a mysterious world that has captivated me from the first time I booted up the game, where you can craft your own ship, and set sail around a map that provides a fair amount of content for the game’s value. Though you might question the price tag after your first time around the map, you’ll find that you can easily come back a month or two later, and enjoy another refreshing trip around the randomly generated islands, struggling to grab parts for your ship off the back of the newly added turtle islands, or trying to steer your boat away from those goddamn birds.
