  • If you like free to play, short, first-person, horror, mystery,

! extraterrestrial , point and click walking simulator, you are in for a treat!

  • The game vibe gave me a mix of Gone Home, What Never Was, Marie’s Room, What Remains of Edith Finch. However, it has no voice-over narration except the phone calls. (you can’t answer the phone)

  • Controls are moving (w,a,s,d), interact (left click), zoom in (right click), and pause (esc).

  • Music is composed of piano/chill/mellow tracks. Suddenly the quiet house becomes creepy after some distressing calls (addition to tapping and wind sound makes it more uncomfortable). Do you know that slow build-up tension feeling where you look around if something might pop out? That is what this game does to you without any jump scares.

Lost Brothers

Lost Brothers

Lost Brothers

Hesitantly recommended for the cave graphics only.

Mostly spoiler free review based on playing the entire game.

This is a walking Sim. You navigate by the usual WASD keys. There is a manual save option (thank you!), and a checkpoint auto-save. You can die (yes, we did hop off the mushrooms more than once), but you will restart where you were. The controller worked fine with it. Adjustments for audio/video are available. You have a map and a compass.

We think anyone who has played Firewatch will compare Lost Brothers to it; that sets a pretty high standard.

(Early Access Review, as an early access release, you may experience bugs, content, interface and optimization changes. Two brothers, John & Sam, are headed out on a camping trip to the countryside for a weekend of fun. After parking, they carry their gear through the trails to their chosen camping area. After some idle chit chat, they finally get camp set up. They sit around the campfire enjoying their meal and conversation, after which they retire for the evening. Suddenly John awakens, noticing his younger brother is not sleeping beside him and goes out to see what he is doing. He calls out for him, “Sam, Sam, where are you” getting no reply. Unable to find him, the police are brought in to investigate, never finding a trace of his brother, Sam.

This is a great game, especially with the new multiplayer addition, but the multiplayer is terrible buggy. I randomly get thrown 1000 miles in the air, I get soft locked, I fall through floors into an endless void unable to do anything, and all sorts of other fun stuff like that. Its a great game but please, Pillow Castle, fix the multiplayer.

10/10 holy god this was an experience. probably my favorite game like this. Second play through and it still felt like I was playing it for the first time. I can’t believe how innovative this game is and I would 1000% recommend this to anyone. Amazing job to the developers, the voice actors, and especially the music. Absolutely worth any amount of money.

Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist

Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist

This is a terribly broken game; I was stuck at the loading screen for almost five minutes despite having a very powerful computer.

I selected the “No Lasers” mode difficulty, and what do I get? Lasers. I was stuck there for hours trying to get past the rediculous challenge. It’s not even a joke difficulty; the game has a “Lasers” difficutly.

The tiger chased me past where I could clearly tell the chase was over. The funny thing is: Strange NPCs popped up and started dealing with it. Honestly, I could have sworn I had heard them scrambling around before the chase started. I don’t get it!

I’d write a review, but someone is already doing it, seems like I’ll have to wait… Should I?

Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist, which I’ll refer as simply Dr. Langeskov, is an adventure game also labeled as a walking simulator, along the lines of games like The Stanley Parable. It’s a really short game if you’re just focused on finishing it. It may take 15 minutes to 45 depending on how much you look around.

“You can’t, you can’t, you can’t… You can’t play it."

Pneuma: Breath of Life

Pneuma: Breath of Life

Overall grade: A-

The game is a very fun, the puzzles are well made, and the changing mechanics keep you on your toes throughout the game. The game also boasts a very beautiful and detailed world, with differing environments and actions that mingle well with the dynamic mechanics of the world. Not to mention the VERY interesting story, and a (metaphorically) EXPLOSIVE ending! (Seriously, the ending is the best part, in my opinion.) And the main story of the game, albeit somewhat short, is not the end of the game’s content, as you will soon find out that there are special hidden(ish) puzzles interlocked with the main puzzle.whether or not the price tag for this game is justified is completely up to the user. Personally, I would pay $20 for the game, but I think a price of $15 or maybe $10 would have fit the brief story better.

Introduction

Pneuma: Breath of Life is an amazing puzzle and thought provoking game. This game is like a mix of Portal (puzzle elements) and Stanley Parable (Comedic style with serious elements). The puzzles are not super easy, but not extremely hard. (It will take some time to figure some of the later puzzles out) (It also has some harder “secret” puzzles) Pneuma: Breath of Life does not only have superb puzzles, but it also has a great comedic and later though provoking tone. Jay Britton does a superb job with voice acting the main character. With the gorgeous graphics, great puzzles, comedic, and thought provoking tone, Pneuma: Breath of Life is a hidden gem that everyone should at lead play though once. The only thing that I could find bad about this game is the fact of how short it is. I really hope the developers decide to make another game that expands on Pneuma: Breath of Life or add more content/ bonus levels to the current game.

I like how you keep moving forward without knowing what is going on. I wish the monsters would attack more instead of just doing jump scares. Also I wish it was more fast paced and it would feel like you are all ways running out of time

Bright Lights of Svetlov

Bright Lights of Svetlov

this game is so well made! i love the vibe. i felt cozy half the game. and i love the sounds of the birds and the wind used outside. it sounds like outside my house. each country got its own local birds. you rarely hear european nature in games. it made the ambience even more wholesome. anyways…

what started happy and cheery ended in tragdedy and i was shocked. especially when i found out that this whole incident is based on a real event i have never known about before this game.

i hope vladimir cholokyan will make more games.
