Raji: An Ancient Epic
Glossary:
Asuras – Half Brothers of the Hindu Gods but bascially Demons
Devas – the Hindu Gods.
Once in a while, an uncut gem arrives in the gaming market. You see this game on the Steam Store, and you’re amazed. It’s dazzling splendour, it’s the fantastic art design and its engaging story. Then you realise that this uncut gem remains an uncut gem because it has more potential. It has so much potential that if expanded with DLCs and free updates, this game can become even greater. The main strength of this game is a strong story and a solid artistic design. Its puzzles are fun, but they can be complex for a beginner at first. I failed many times having to defeat multiple bosses and it was frustrating, to say the least. Many moments kept me scratching my head on how to defeat the Asuras.

Fire Dogs
I highly recommend this game. It is an enjoyable, relaxing cool game with fantastic graphics. It is fun to play solo or with a team of fire dogs to explore. I love the storyline and the calming music. It is fun to howl to call other fire dogs in the multi-player game or howl to receive game clues.

Egyptian Senet
To summerize, if you are someone who goes for something with content and thought then try this out; it’s for literally 50 cents when it’s on sale.
This game’s graphics are higher than the screenshots posted, so don’t be fooled. This version is made for normal desktop resolution so I don’t know why any kid would complain. The design is pretty good for a 2D design, and the effort put in the details in the art were meticulously done and not just randomly copied. Everything to me seems like it has its own cham, the victory screen is cute and pleasant, while the prompt when you lose is unpleasant: as to be desired since this is a game for anyone to play and is meant to be symbolic, hence its accessibility to all ages is a plus.

Purchased for a reduced price of £0.79 so can’t say I’m not happy with the purchase!
In all Senet is captivating and this version acts as a good introduction, it is quite addictive as a casual game.
In way of criticism the game presentation is dated and I get the distinct feeling when moving up the difficulty levels the AI gets ‘luckier’ rather than more tactical. This makes the game short-lived as it soon becomes tiresome knowing the AI will often throw the correct combinations to rapidly progress pieces. Something that rarely happens for the human player!

Facettes
The game
Sitting at her messy desk. The objects that dress it evoke chimeras, stories and fantasy characters for our protagonist, the Author. Dreamy and immersed in her imagination, she brings this decor to life.
Through this introspective adventure, explore the identity questions of the Author, this faceless protagonist. Let yourself be guided by this inner journey to the rhythm of her personal wanderings.
The Author is the character that you will play and follow through her inner journey.
The gameplay
Dice in hand and perched on this desk, the Author of Facettes invites you on a journey of identity initiation. At your fingertips is a dreamlike world, populated by heroines, Potentials and life paths to discover.
The Author keeps creating more Potentials using tabletop RPG mechanics: roll a dice and assign values to various characteristics in the process of character creation.
There is a set of Potentials to collect, alongside the objects which inspired them and the voice recordings of the Author’s thoughts.
The Potentials
Her experiences give life to fantastic creatures and worlds yet imbued with reality that nourish the personal construction of this mysterious Author.
These creatures are the “Potentials”, enigmatic women whose stories represent many possible lives for this mysterious protagonist. They each have a past, a purpose, and ties with other Potentials in this introspective journey.
The world
The stories of these chimerical women gradually come to life through the dreams of the Author in the phantasmagorical world they inhabit.
Mirror Island is the main place of this fantasy universe. There is where most of the Potentials live, but some of them are not terrestrial beings.
The island is torn apart by a conflict involving many of the Potentials rivaling to rule this land.

Kanso
How to describe Kanso? Well, you play with your mouse, and you have to draw a line around a shape! Sounds pretty simple right?
This is one of those relaxing, zen like games, where you think everything is all easy and simple, but quickly you realise that things take some skill. This is a “line following” game. Everything is very bright and colourful and really is a joy to play.
As you draw around the shapes, there are “Koi like Daemons”, they kind of look like giant sperms, or perhaps tadpoles, they are on their own little journey, come into contact with them and you will have to start again. As you draw your line, you cannot go backwards, only forwards, but you can speed up or slow down, or even stop, that will allow you to avoid the Daemons, and finish the shape. As you progress through the levels, the shapes become more interesting and there are more Daemons to avoid, some will try to follow you, some will avoid you, some do not care about you. But you must always care about all of them if you want to progress.

Kari
Another student project from Breda University of Applied Sciences , this one transports you into a magical realm of the Norse Gods, stranded on an island after a mysterious storm capsizes your ship and leaves you almost dead on the shores.
With your life slipping away, Odin grants you a blessing, tethers your life to this plane and sends Muninn, one of his loyal ravens, to guide you in escaping and returning to your home. The blessing has a duration and you need to replenish it at shrines dotted around the island that also act as save and respawn points if you die. Storywise, this is a great mechanic as it evokes the feeling of being in another realm and adds some urgency to your escape. Gameplaywise, the blessing runs out far too quickly and you will find yourself thinking about shrines far more than you need to. Depending on your patience, it can become a slight annoyance.

Losing items upon death
I took my sweet time to sit down and play this game and let me tell you it was worth those hours I put in. The visuals are stunning and the music is there to match. The story captivates you and in fact it drew me in almost immediately. At first glance I was just going to check out the game and see what I think I had no intention of actually playing it till the end. But after a bit I got interested in the story and I really wanted to see how it would end so I did. The mechanics of the game itself are fun and interesting, combining exploration, parkour (to a degree), puzzles and resource gathering. While at some later stages this all does seem a bit tedious the developers made sure to include short cuts so you don’t have to walk around the long route each time and can quickly go back and forth. And to make the game a bit more exciting you in fact have the possibility to lose your entire normal inventory upon death (not your quest inventory) making walking across that small tree bridge over the ravine just a bit more tense.

Free Spirit VR Meditation
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/H0tCFSIIXAo
This is an about 10 minute long, meditative experience through the Peruvian Andes Mountains. Where you basically teleport up a quick climb, see the scenic views, then sit at a campfire. There’s a narrator saying a prayer to the fire in English. You can also draw during this and then send your painting to the fire. That’s it basically.
Experience is running on the Unreal Engine. I was getting variable frame rates from 90 to frame rates in the 40s fps. The visuals were just okay and something that would be fine in a free to play experience. The ambient sounds were also just okay. While the narration was good and the musical score, that doesn’t exactly amount to a premium experience. There’s only teleport for the locomotion and the locomotion was not smooth (as it was difficult to turn in the direction you wanted).

Empowering meditative experience, highly recommended! Either if you are a an experienced or beginner meditator.
This 10-15min experience delves you into the visually-stunning site of Machu Pichu, where you follow a trail alongside a beautiful voice that guides you. The sun sets alongside the walk, creating delightful light effects. This visually rich experience guides you to release your fears and envision the life that you want.
Although some people may consider the experience short, the power of this piece stands on the intention you put on it. It is not about quantity of scenarios, it is about your sincerity when setting your intentions in front of the fire, to release what you don´t need and bring about the life that you envision.

Orb and the Stars
Fun and challenging platformer where you have to reach the exit as an orb while you can collect star shards in each level. The graphics are rather simple, but the game is fun and challenging.
