Niffelheim
Niffelheim Review
Niffelheim offers you a different but very addictive adventure, and that is not all!
Some key points that this game offers:
-
Stunning visuals and animations.
-
In depth crafting system.
-
A little bit of everything, some RPG, some Strategy, some Mining and a whole lot more.
-
Indie Gem 5/5
-
Very addictive play.
-
Co-op and Multiplayer options available.
Gameplay & Controls:
The game has full controller support. However, if you prefer to stick to the trusty keyboard and mouse, fret not the game plays beautifully with either. The mouse can be used to complete a whole bunch of actions, which can get confusing or just limit the effects. By effects I mean, we get to hunt, forage, chop trees and mine, there are buttons for each of these actions. You do have the options to remap keys to your liking.

WHAT THIS GAME ISN’T: a regular action 2D “hack and slash” game.
-
WHAT THIS GAME IS: a resource gathering & crafting survival game. (gather, hunt, eat, mine & craft to further kill bosses and defend your self from hordes)
The violence in the game is secondary, is a very chill game with its dangers enough to make it very fun!. It is very addictive due its rewardness .
However tha combat system isn’t that obvious. (You have to manually block and hit; thankfully you can play with a controller which I found funner. The combat is simple and fun enough for the experience it offers. I combat is so much easier and fast with controller)

Valheim
Odin won’t let me go outside anymore and I have Stockholm Syndrome
Early in the year 2021, I heard about this game a decent amount of people were talking about: “Valheim”
It appeared to be some sort of Survival Craft / Sandbox title taking place in a Norse mythology setting, and since I love both, I thought to myself: “Hey, let’s give this a try!”
Several months later, I’m unable to tell if that grunt I just heard came from some creature in the game or my own stomach because of the pasta I ate raw in order to minimize the time spent on something else than building, slaying monsters and gathering materials.

I’m going to start with the good. This is a great game; with I think a great future. There’s plenty to do and it looks good. The simplicity works well. I love the building, really love the building. Yes there are dead areas in the world at the moment; but I know that will be filled in eventually. If you haven’t played this game, please pick it up. It’s worth a spot in your collection.
Now to the reason I can’t play this game anymore, and I have a little story for you. For some time now there has been a world destroying bug in the game. Your world progress will be reset back to the first day. Anyway, during covid lock, I’ve been separated from my girlfriend. UK to US travel has not been permitted until a few days ago. This game was our game. We spent weeks building a huge castle together. We laughed together, we talked about bad things going on in our lives, we got drunk together while playing this game. Some days, we just played quietly while listening to music together. What we built was huge, towers to their maximum possible height. Wide area’s paved with stone floor for housing and other buildings. We had friends come in to help us gather the stone; while also drinking and having a good time. Then about a week ago we loaded in to play after a month break to find everything was gone. EVERYTHING.

Little Hats
Not bad at all for an early alpha. Plenty of space to run around, harvesting, crafting and building systems work, some dangers, a bit of detailed neighborhoods already in. Pro tip: agarics are not poisonous to gnomes!
I would recommend the game while it is cheap and just hope a sole developer comes through and finishes the project. I personally have a good feeling about this : )

Milkcraft
it is very scuffed but I love scuffed games.
default movespeed is horrid until you get a mount, but you can get them free it just takes awhile.
there isn’t much content atm unfortunately, the devs bought rights from china where the game is 3 years in content ahead, but it will come eventually. he’s working on the mobile version first but after that content is coming to both.
it’s like a MC towny server, but everywhere. idk, i just love it - feels like gaming 15 years ago before markets and trading websites and all that.

So, after about a hundred hours into the game, here’s my critique of Milkcraft:
First thing - personally I don’t like Minecraft, because you build things there only for the sake of building (no function, no inhabitants), graphics are poor and RPG aspects are extremely lacking. I bought Java version, played a while and got bored. That’s why I tried Milkcraft, to see if it’s better than Minecraft, but it’s actually worse.
It’s perhaps the single worst game I’ve ever played, next to Pokémon Go, Modern Combat 5, Asphalt 9 and Fire Emblem Heroes. It only cements my life-long conviction that mobile games (or games coming from mobile) are bad (except handhelds like PSP or DS). I left a positive review before, to maybe bring new players, but there are only 15 currently online and 30 24-hour peak, so the game is going nowhere in the West.

Buried Alive: The Annihilation VR
I truly love this game dont listen to the bad press, is how I’ll start this, however I do have to say the game is fresh out and does have its bugs, there are a few and they become known very quickly.
But i say this is a good thing because it means you can learn them and move around them very quickly.
Most of the bugs it has are completely avoidable whilst playing.
To say dont buy this game or its terrible or whatever is too harsh, I find this game worth the amount it came out for, I also find it good fun, a little scary, tense and long enough to keep me entertained for hrs.

The game is a diamond in the rough, covered in some bugs.
Developers are hard at work to fix the bugs, when I bought the game it wouldn’t even start.
Got on their discord, got in contact with a developer, got access to a BETA branch and the game started.
They already hotfixed some of the bugs and when I played I was able to play a few rounds.
I encountered having some issues to reload sometimes and one time my Axe just didn’t register, but that seemed to be performance related.
Game needs some optimization, needs some time, it can be great, mabey EA’d a bit to early but even though for the backlash they got they are working hard on fixing it. And who better to test then the players themselves so they can spend more time fixing the issues players have found.

Kingdomonium
Kingdomonium is an indie medieval procedurally generated side-scrolling real time strategy game. Build up and command your medieval kingdom to explore and conquer the land. The game at its roots is a real time strategy game with the unique mechanic of playing as a side-scrolling 2D platformer. You play within a procedurally generated sandboxed open world environment which allows activities such as foraging, chopping, digging, mining, building, fishing, sailing, exploring, strategic combat and many more!
So what’s so special about this game?
Most traditional real time strategy games play from a top-down perspective. Kingdomonium plays as a side-scrolling 2D platformer. This combined with the fact that the world you play in is procedurally generated with aspects of destructible terrain makes for some very intriguing and enjoyable gameplay!
What can I do in this game and what is the end goal?
The game allows you to take command of a medieval kingdom. You give orders to various constituent units (some of which are mentiond below) to perform tasks such as foraging, chopping, digging, mining, building, fishing, sailing, exploring and tactical combat. There are many goals in the game but the main overarching one is to expand your kingdom and take over as much land as possible. Other goals include exploration, finding rare items, overcoming various obstacles and enemies and many more.
What commandable characters or units are in the game?
Below are some of the basic units planned in the game. Of course this is only a small sample. There will be many others and advanced versions of these below in the final game!
#### Villager
Villagers are the heartbeat of the kingdom. They perform a multitude of tasks such as wood-cutting, mining, building and crafting. Without them the kingdom cannot function
#### Swordsman
The short swordsman is a staple infantry unit. Although basic they are a formidable force to be reckoned with when commanded in groups for close range melee battle
#### Archer
The archer is another staple infantry unit. They are very effective for planning strategic range attacks and defending the kingdom from higher vantage points and gaurd towers
#### Knight
The knight is a more capable, experienced and equipped infantry unit. They possess a great amount of armour and durability as well as quicker attack times and greater hit-point damage
#### Cavalry
The cavalry are highly durable and effecient combat units. They possess a great amount of stamina and hit-point damage against any opposition as well as having the ability to traverse vast distances quickly
#### Priest
Priests can heal wounded units as well as cast spells against the enemy during battle. In addition to these they also possess further mystical powers yet to be revealed
#### Catapult
The catapult is a basic artillery combat unit. Highly advantageous for launching ranged attacks with large splash damage. Especially useful for destroying buildings and other structures
#### Transport Ship
The transport ship is essential for moving troops, equipment and supplies across sea to neighboring lands
