Apopia: Prologue

Apopia: Prologue

Great game! Seen how it’s been the works for awhile, being fed bits of juicy new content on my instagram feed and now it’s finally out! SO you know when you’re reading a reaally good book and can’t put it down, or watch a great movie and walk out feeling like a new person? Well, THIS IS THE SAME, but game format.

Gameplay - Apopia’s gameplay is super fun - puzzles and mini games are a refreshing break from all the shoot-em-ups/build-your-adventure/brainless time wasters out there nowadays.

Art - the setting of Yogurt, and the Castle are gorgeous to look at with its soothing colour scheme and lighting.

Ok, so I have been advertised this game so many times on my Instagram and decided after the 5th time to actually play the game. Initially, the game seemed like it was going to follow in the footsteps of Undertale where you fall down and meet unusual characters when you fall below. However, playing further into it I can appreciate the amount of effort put into the character and level designs, and I love the point and click aspect with a simple and slightly rough art-syle. The music is absolutely banger, I would definitely listen to the soundtrack if it was put onto Spotify. Although the ending for the prologue was rushed in a way that I did not understand what was happening because too many concepts and events were happening at once, I like the route that the game took. I look very forward to playing it when it is finished. If you are interested in playing this game, I really suggest sitting back and just listening to the unique and fun songs and gander at the character designs because frankly, they’re so distinct and wonderful!

I’ve never played anything like this before! It has so many different parts to the puzzle and leaves you on your own more than I expected which I think is actually really satisfying and engaging to work through. Being both stimulating and calming I feel I can play it any time of the day and similarly it would appeal to all ages. It’s handmade artwork and graphics makes the fantasy land of Pipshire come alive. Finally, it has all the thrill and immersion of a whodunnit combined with the calm that life can lack - I would definitely recommend this game.

A really enjoyable game. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Can be played at your own pace, alone or with friends. Could easily be made into a tabletop/dinner party game. You can see my more in depth review here:

A Little Golf Journey

A Little Golf Journey

So ‘A Little Golf Journey’ is a really great game. It’s a chill game even though you may not be a big Golf fan like I am this is a really easy game to play and doesn’t require much effort so it’s a nice game to play here and there and to relax. You can maybe also listen to music or listen to a podcast or whatever you like while playing this.

I completed the game 100% just now and even though I liked it for the most part there are these white blocks that are pretty hard to see and reveal themselves when you get close which I don’t really get. It was so random to encounter them all of a sudden and it was a bit frustrating to see it in one of the minigolf courses.

There are not enough good golf games on Steam. This one though, is one of the gems.

It’s relaxing, the low-poly graphics are nice to look at, and the music is chill.

It can be quite challenging though, if you want it to be.

The Mysteries of Ranko Togawa: Murder on the Marine Express

The Mysteries of Ranko Togawa: Murder on the Marine Express

An excellent murder mystery visual novel for both young reader and adults alike. Recommended for parents or teachers to give it to their children/students. Educational with a lot of famous historical female figure mentioned. The plot isn’t too disturbing, serious - bringing the mention of murder, revenge, sexual abuse - yet also light and fun with it’s comedy and characters chemistry. The pixel art and the music are sure to delight the reader, and the text are easy to read. Characters are easy to love. The only thing I find lacking, which could be my personal bias, is the lack of rollback features which I find in a lot of visual novel (though this doesn’t mean it’s necessary; I just prefer to be able to see the previous dialog in case I miss click or something) and how small the game box is. Overall as I said in the beginning, an excellent game.

A nice and intriguing short story with a memorable, quirky cast, Murder on the Marine Express is a good starting point for a very promising series of mystery novels.

While its main murder plot is indeed interesing, this game really shines at interactions between characters. They’re full of personality and their exchanges make both excellent comic relief and food for thought.

Don’t be late in this race against time runner-plateformer game ! You can make your own choices and write your own story. The game got pretty intense and deep rather quickly and without noticing it you will be drown in the storyline. I would say the storytelling is clearly inspired by the cryptic Dark souls games so I would suggest you to be prepared to explore this world if you want to piece the whole story together and finally have the full picture. I can assure you it totally worths it !

Concerning the gameplay, I can only say one thing : Prepare yourself to split your brain into two parts, you will need it ! Sometimes you will feel like you want to rage and give up because you cannot get through a level, but the amazing soundtracks just won’t let you. When you will finally succeed, HELL YEAH it is so satisfying !
