Knightczech: The beginning

Knightczech: The beginning

Knightczech is a game for those who are gluttons for punishment. The death counter and unforgiving world, this game has a Dark Souls feel with a puzzle twist. All created by solo 21 year old dev Fridolin Slehacka, this game offers a big challenge and great story for those who are up for it.

I personally was not great at this game and it is not my playstyle however the fact that I was still able to have an enjoyable experience speaks volumes to the dev. Thank you for the playthrough!

Kharon’s Crypt - Even Death May Die

This game is genuinely good and deserves all the attention. Whether you’re an old-school lover or you’re new to the genre and style, this game will surprise you. The team has worked very hard on the game and the result is a good game.

It will be out of early access when the devs are sure there are no catastrophic bugs or crashes. It will also come out on Switch!

The game itself is very inspired in old gameboy dungeon crawler titles and while it might feel difficult at first glance once you get used to the mechanics and controls it’s not that difficult. I believe everyone should give it an honest try!

The game is really fun and challenging, the music is awesome and it gives og the perfect vibe. The lore is suprisingly detailed and it’s worth reading it all.

! I think it’s a little funny, that you see a cute slime, and then the necronomicon says it’s human pulp.

The Wrath Of The Erlik

The Wrath Of The Erlik

Sorry guys, but your game is not ready to release.

  1. Everyone in the village is named “Npc 01”. At least the 8 or so I clicked on.

  2. Textures missing or misaligned.

  3. Houses and walls floating off the ground.

  4. I can’t select a class, only a gender. If that is intentional, it probably shouldn’t say “Class” next to the button.

  5. The Exit button doesn’t work.

You have the beginnings of something potentially good here but at the very most this should be Early Access. It probably isn’t even ready for that yet.

I’ve finished all of the current content, so I think I’m in a good position to critique the game as it is currently. Overall, this game is a real gem. I’m a fan of Lovecraftian-styled games along with rogues and sidescrollers, so this game is perfect for me. The character movement and combat starts out sluggish, but once you unlock some more dashes the pace becomes faster. The developers have already addressed this in an update today that bumped up the character movement, among other improvements. However it’s still a game that favors defense, and the bullet-sponge nature of the enemies is my biggest criticism. At times it can borderline on ridiculous. Also, the second level of Act 1 feels way too long, and in my opinion, doesn’t earn its length.

Right now, I’m coming off of a sugar rush like feeling after playing 5 hours of this game. In its current state the game is fantastic.

The game checks off all the boxes for a wide variety of gamers.

I could go on. I’m a huge fan of SoulsLike and Metroidvania games. Throw in the Roguelite concept where both the environment and your enemies are never the same is fantastic. The use of neural network AI to create the enemies is mind bendingly genius.

honestly the trailer make the game looks really bad, but it wasnt that bad to play, it was pretty fun. The only problem is that the screen is a bit small and it gave me an headached, But everything else was fine.

So far the level design is pretty good (reached the fan trampoline) The gameplay is original, it looks like stick with it, but better. And yeah, will definitivly try to finish this one

Drova - Teaser

Drova - Teaser

This game has a lot of potential! The story shines though - it isn’t (at this stage at least) too complex. I very much enjoyed the action RPG style. Moving through the darkness was one of the best mechanics, along with the medicinal plant harvesting (and too much medicinal plant = toxic).

The two things I thought were potential issues were: 1. More than once, a location is described in terms that aren’t helpful. I just had to look in the general vicinity, but if it describes a location further away, this could be bad). 2. It seemed difficult to run and change weapons - possiblky part of that was due to the “ready weapon” graphics are barely different from the “weapon away” graphics. This is super simple to change, so I’m not all that concerned about this.

Free-to-try, and fun. :) I’ll give the teaser a 6/10 nostalgia rating for following in Gothic’s footsteps.

Overall, the interface is polished; the combat, while a bit fiddly, isn’t quite as clunky as Gothic 1’s. :) The ether mechanic is a bit odd, as is the resource you gain for hitting enemies while not getting hit.

The setting in the teaser is not so immediately captivating as Gothic’s, but the monster progression does have some of the Gothic feel.

Curious to see where this goes. :)

Jin Conception

So far i like it.

I’ve wiped my old review clean and am going to be much more concise in this one - having played both the Steam and Switch versions of the game now, I can firmly say that if you plan to play this game at all, the Switch version is the way to go - though I would skip out on both. It has less RNG bullshit in it and the controls simply make more sense and it has overall less bugs, however…

Upon a second playthrough of Jin Conception (once on Steam, once on Switch), I can confidently say that… while there is some good here, the cons just definitely outweigh the bad. Even knowing the answers of who is friend and foe, there is virtually no way in the game to actually deduce this naturally. I had the benefit of speaking with the developer during my playthrough and was able to speak with him afterwards to try and clear up some misconceptions and unfortunately the conversation only proved to clarify what I feared: the story is in fact incomplete, with much of it simply not in the game.
