Music Band Manager

Music Band Manager

Verdict: 3/10

Becoming a mix of band manager and music band becomes in reality a click feast that tests your patience and resilience in a very simple simulation environment. Better look somewhere else or buy with a huge discount.

PrivateJoh’s personal (re)view:

Personally, I feel Music Band Manager is lacking in many aspects. Gender possibilities are not really explored. 2D graphics are generic at most, and not particularly engaging. Initially, the humor might bring a smile to your face, but it becomes old really fast.

Wanted More

So i bought this game when it was on offer at £2.69 (or there about) and to be honest it is only worth this much!

What i wanted was in band augments, broken instruments, band members leaving, sex, drugs and rock’n’roll!!

What i got is a very tame game in so far as no one falls out with anyone no one gets tired EVER!!! There is no time management in fact you can have you “band” work every day of every week of the year and they never drop from fatigue (i would recommend that you DO work them every day), on top of this you can get them to rehearsal and write songs (as they say no rest for the wicked).

I wish the game would let me know that I should have some food prepared between biomes, before telling me I starved to death on my way to said biome and then deleting my save file of 3 hours. I also got really focused on finding foxes and forgot to eat. I had plenty of food, but then I “starved to death” and another save file of 5 hours was deleted. I understand it’s trying to be realistic, you should think of this intuitively, you should figure it out, etc. but forcing a complete restart after hours of tedious gathering and crafting just feels like a slap in the face.

just a garbage game.

Graphics 4/10 - kind of cute and retro.

Interface 1/10 - Feels like a bad phone port. it’s very clunky.

Music 2/10 - it gets unbelievably repeative hearing the same loop.

Guidance 3/10 - It doesn’t hold your hand. It pushes you from behind and laughs. then ignores you forever.

Saves 0/10 - Manual saves are overwritten by autosaves making M. Saves pointless.

Overall 2/10 - I’d return it if I bought it specifically. but it came in a bundle. I’ll check back in a month and edit this review if things improve. Right now? DO NOT BUY.

Chronostation

Chronostation

Game needs a ‘place multiple units’ hotkey (this genre generally means holding down shift key).

Needs a way to auto-select tower priority (it’s very irritating to place an outpost, then edit the tower targeting, then place an outpost, change tower targeting, etc). Same for placing the individual towers.

Auto-rebuild option for the fleets would be nice, or at least a ‘queue all’ or ‘select all’.

I enjoy upgrading the ‘towers’, which is persistent across games, but it’s a bit repetitive at this point - start game, build a bunch of generators and storage, let the base blow up, invest in upgrading towers, repeat. You want to use a lot of outposts. Everything else pretty much requires that as the ‘base’. since the actual Base has a limited number of slots for buildings it can support (four buildings baseline, 8 when fully researched). The outpost also can be researched to increase your resource cap, generate resources, generate energy, and start with defensive guns, so it covers pretty much everything you need for farming upgrades. The ‘power node’ will also let you expand, but doesn’t have built-in defenses, doesn’t increase your resource cap, and doesn’t generate resources or energy. and has to be placed within an existing sphere of influence. It technically has one more control point than the outpost, but unlike the outpost, another power node consumes a previous control point slot so that’s more or less a wash. It is, at least, more compact than the outpost.

I just played this game for 9 hours straight. It is a fun tower defense space game.

As you play it it becomes clear it’s a work in progress. It’s just one big level and the story is when you get blown up you retain the earned knowledge of your level or something and you can use resource points to level up your weapons. That’s cool, I think it took me about an hour to discover the research page cause I just kept restarting.

The good:

It’s got the right mix for tower defense: simple but varied. The level has random asteroid placement so it has a replay factor

Play as a thin lonely man in a world where prisoner dominator Billy who targets thin lonely men has escaped from prison, it really is not your day. Then you hide in a cornfield, not a great idea…

Football Russian 20!8

I picked up this game on sale and very glad I did. A simple mouse click football game that was fun to play, amusing, addictive and with a nice soundtrack. An improved version of this with better controls and more humour would be absolutely fantastic!

My nomination for Steam Game of The Year 2018.

This is not a game, it is a joke. Looks like a demo.

All you get is 18 levels where you shoot free kicks at the goal, with a drunk goal-keeper.

With each level the number of people standing in front of the ball is higher. That’s it!!

Level 6 and 14 are nearly impossible because there are people standing a couple of centimeters in front of the ball so you cannot shoot on the goal.

I don’t understand how Steam lets half-products like this be in their list of offered games.

Metal Heads

Metal Heads

I’ve been helping out with testing the game (the online multiplayer) for well over a year now and i have seen a lot of improvements with it so far and it has come a long way since Pax Aus 2019.

The game itself is great fun online (yes there are issues but it is early access and what early access game doesn’t have issues) and even better when playing locally with friends. There are plenty of mini-games to play as well as a bored game mode that allows you to place items on the map to hinder others or yourself if you aren’t careful. The game has a solo Dev and Andy Gillion working on the music for the game.

The game was for a year on my steam-wishlist, and now it’s released. Yeah, it is buggy … but what else do you expect for a Early Access game? The minigames are really funny, and the game has many potential to be the next big party game. So buy it and support the developer behind the game, so that he can fulfill his vision of the game.

Furthermore he is active on Discord, in contrast to another game in this genre on steam, where the devs are lost, lol.

Aesthetic Melody

Aesthetic Melody

The game is hard and challenging.. Especially the ++ parts but with the soundtrack and all it’s a e s t h e t i c.

The only issue i had was the little stuttering effect (it’s VHS and all but it’s annoying especially while dodging stuff because you literally move an extra step etc. then restart…)

With all that in mind, i recommend the game and don’t forget to be patient !

this game is amazing, beautiful remake of nostalgic feeling game, i cant quite put my thumb on it, buuut its amazing, 10/10 for someone like adam, he made beautiful titles, and a game that makes me ragequit every 2 minutes but i ultimately come back because its so loveable

i do not however, like the bullets. that sh*t was annoying as hell

i ragequit through all the levels and had to take a break, but this game installed so fast and i love the acheivements and community market items

10/10 would recommend to your patient family member who likes old games,

Crashday Redline Edition

Crashday Redline Edition

I’ve been reading the negative reviews. After over 1000 hours of playing Crashday, I can give you an honest review, and I will be either confirming, or busting some of the “weak points” mentioned in these negative comments.

“The cars feel like they are driving on ice.”

Not really, only if you take offroad wheels on tarmac, or sport wheels on dirt. If you want to see what driving on ice is like, there’s probably a mod for that.

“The camera is low and so close to the car that you can’t even see where you’re going”

THE GOOD AND THE BAD

  • Multiplayer is super fun when you find players to play with

  • Improved graphics and user interface

  • 12 new Redline tracks with unique design (MUCH better than the original tracks)

  • Original soundtrack and gameplay that keeps the authentic feel of the original game

  • Variety of game modes

  • Track editor is still present

  • Daytime can now be chosen without having to use the default daytime used for the specific map
