Crashday Redline Edition

Crashday Redline Edition

I’ve been reading the negative reviews. After over 1000 hours of playing Crashday, I can give you an honest review, and I will be either confirming, or busting some of the “weak points” mentioned in these negative comments.

“The cars feel like they are driving on ice.”

Not really, only if you take offroad wheels on tarmac, or sport wheels on dirt. If you want to see what driving on ice is like, there’s probably a mod for that.

“The camera is low and so close to the car that you can’t even see where you’re going”

Audio Infection

Audio Infection

As a music enthusiast in general and as someone who loved playing games like AudioSurf, Beat Hazard & Swarmlake, I found this game appealing. I played without VR equipment, and that’s, besides using either the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, perfectly possible!

The game offers a handful of visually pleasing areas where you start listening to (your own = possible) music, and try not to get infected; e.g. the lower your accuracy and/or level of mastery, the more damage you will take, and the more infected your audio gets = lower music levels, but the enemies and their battle sounds will then take over the place. So you’d better listen to some garbage music, or you will get annoyed if you fail at shooting ;properly!

Love the game so far, havent played it too much but its really fun to play. People might say at first its not a game they like, but its really fun to grind points and lvl up your weapons. Eventually you will have better weapons and then you will see difference in the game. I enjoyed my time playing and it also kind of calmed me down :o

Overall, a fantastic game/story. Play time for me was 14.5 hours.

When I purchased this game I was expecting an average VR game…boy, was I wrong. This Developer (by the way, it is a one person team) is very creative and has developed a game that is fun, has a great story, and is well worth the price. The audio and music is exceptional throughout the entire game. Some comedy, some scares, some surprises, fun puzzles, and tension as you proceed through the prison complex. Without spoilers I have to say the ending was excellent; and I can’t wait for more.

Really pleasantly surprised by this game. Developed by a single developer, and his first game at that, this is a really well crafted game.

Set on a remote prison station in orbit around a planet it’s essentially a Sci-Fi based escape game with a horror/mystery background. The story telling is really well executed and unfolds as you progress through the game. The music, sound effects and voice overs are all top quality and the exploration is mixed with puzzles which are always logical although not always obvious, so a little thought, careful observation and lateral thinking required in places.

Planes, Bullets and Vodka

Planes, Bullets and Vodka

A cheap vertical scrolling shoot em up, it is playable enough and can be fun at times but frustrating at others - the power ups are essential but random drops, so some games you will have it easy, others you are basically doomed as the enemies get tougher so you can shoot less of them, further reducing your chances of getting more power ups and getting back on track.

The controls are fine, the graphics are basic but functional, and the difficulty curve of the enemies is reasonable (although the dual firing heavy you start getting at level 4 are difficult to kill reliably unless you get really lucky with power ups to that point). At some points later on you start getting narrow passages only just wide enough for your plane, which seems to defeat the object of the game as you just have to stay there and get hit by anything that fires before your bullets hit them.
