Hepta Beats looks like a fusion with Geometry Dash and Celeste, but it doesn’t make me want to destroy my keyboard.

Really cool levels, good soundtrack. the last level is awesome, make me want to jump from the chair all the time

have a lot of fun playing it, and is just 2,99, worth it alot

Anomalies

Anomalies

SUMMARY: A graphical toy to make weird, surreal spacescapes and the oddities that inhabit them, from playing with sliders to just randomziing items. On top of that, you get odd soundscapes that play along. A way to just mess around, or a way to create relaxing - or disturbing - backgrounds on your computer or tv display.

Anomalies is a graphical toy that some may call a glorified screen saver - fortunately it’s both!

Basically you can randomize or set a bunch of parameters, that then make surreal spacescapes that you can watch while strange music plays. Depending on your choices, you might watch stars circle by as you observe a nebula, be caught among strange particles, or hover in front of a bizarre tentacular space creature. Or a combination.

This is a really interesting piece of software. It is good to have around to either dip into casually or have a longer session. There can be some nice surprises. I just came up with a not very spectacular creation from the visual point of view, but it has a very nice ethereal sound. Tweaking parameters and hunting and rummaging are great fun. I have got some more choices of wallpaper too.

Synthrun

The tutorial levels had me intrigued, but the subsequent levels made it clear to me that this game is clearly lacking a lot of development and should still be in beta.

  • Core mechanics are fine, but at times can lack polish

  • Jumping is broken, and the window for jumping is so small that the last chance jump mechanic is actually a safer bet most of the time as it brings you closer to the next platform and widens the window if you have quick enough reflexes.

  • The walkable platforms are a mostly useless mechanic as the only real way to use them is to just keep running.

Synthrun is a Unity Asset Flip style 3D platformer, it looks like the developer copy+pasted a game template/tutorial for a basic 3D platformer, changed a couple of things and dumped this mess on Steam as a cash grab. That theory is supported by the way game keys were sold off to cheap, low quality bundlemongers, DailyIndieGame.

Anyway, this is pretty bad, clunky controls, bad camera angles, and some of the laziest minimalist graphics I’ve seen for a long time. This is very, very far from acceptable standards for a modern PC game.

Matter

Matter

Matter is an awesome, but also very short virtual trip.

You play in first-person view and jump through dynamically forming levels that give an organic and psychedelic feeling. The sound and music seems to react to your movement as well. Where are you? Who are you? Looks like you are in some kind of organism. Or is it space? Who cares, it’s trippy as hell!

There are some slower parts where you run around little planets and search for artifacts, but the main part is “just” running and jumping. You can reverse time a bit if you miss a jump. Gravity seems to be all over the place and changes, so some of the jumps can be a little tricky, but if you just push on, you will be able to get into a flow state and enjoy the game to its fullest.

Ok, I know well the devs, but they didn’t ask me to recommend the game. Take it as it is, but I will try to be as objective as I can.

I just finished the game. What I could say is that it was a delightful dreamlike trip, with very special attention to the ears and feeling of gravity. It’s the kind of game you can’t forget after playing to it. It makes bubbles in the stomach.

Except for the jump, which is sometimes a little bit harsh for me (no air control, but it doesn’t block me), I did not have much frustrations.

FRACT OSC

FRACT OSC

You’re dropped in a barren, alien world with no real idea of what’s going on, but as you explore and interact with the strange world around you, you begin to return music and colour to the world and bring it back to life. The soundscape builds around you, taking your own solutions and weaving them into the music of the world.

FRACT is a game that gives you a brief starting tutorial that is completely free of explanatory text. Not only that, the environment is altogether alien and bewildering, and suddenly animated at unpredictable times. Once you’ve completed the tutorial, the game throws you headfirst into the world without any further hand-holding.

I’ve owned this game for well over a year. Purchased it due to the “Tron” look it seemed to have. As you progress through the puzzles and terrain, its gets harder and harder, almost exponentially. Sorta' like if you take a penny, and double it every day, by the end of the month, you will be astronomically rich. Fract OSC is a lot like that. You’ll get through a handful of the early puzzles before you start pulling your hair out. Finishing the game without either looking up puzzle resolves, or some kind of cheating, its pretty much impossible. May very well be I’m not real good at this kind of game.

The mechanics of this game are so damn good. The simplicity combined with the gravity and multiple clear formations make it both easy to understand and endlessly satisfying to learn and master. Custom color palettes and a plethora of visibility options make Mixolumia very accessible, especially because they can be changed on the fly. That and the high contrast between game modes mean it’s as tryhard or laid-back as the player wants. The base game’s music and sound effects are amazing, but you’re seriously missing out without some fanmade tracks from itch, which are just as quality. Grunge by Lady Saytenn and freefall by LavenderAudio are my top picks. Overall, Mixolumia is my favorite arcade game, block-clearing puzzler, whatever other genres it’s in, and my #3 GOTY 2020.

This game is a masterpiece. Easy to pick up and easy to play for hours. I waited until it went on sale, but I wish I had bought it sooner. It’s more than worth full price.

The graphics are great. The bloom, fireworks, and sound effects combine to make combos extremely satisfying to pull off. If you don’t like the effects you can turn them off. I had to turn off the screen shake, and I appreciate that the option exists.

I like that Relaxation Mode lets you take as much time as you want to place each piece, it makes it easier to learn the game. Playing Relaxation with the Summer Shower music is calming. The sound feedback as you play is genius and my favorite part of the game.

TLDR; If you have a few bucks to spend and want a unique rhythm game this is for you! If you’re not finding a Rhythm game I would say this game is good but definitely not worth buying “Now”

Intro

I came here just because of EK else I wouldn’t know this game exist. And just by watching it I decided to spend some money and try it.

I would say I’m not disappointed at all except for the visuals outside the game lol.

Gameplay and Perfomance

This is one of those rhythm games where you can’t just press the keys like you always would. Instead you need to move your mouse to match with the position of the beats too. The hard part is that the beats are coming from 2 sides which needs some real big brain moment lol.
