Rhythm of the Gods

Rhythm of the Gods

For $9 it’s an alright game. The music and graphics are quite charming but there aren’t many levels and half of the songs are remixes. The story can be boiled down to some young gods throwing parties because it’s what they love to do. The difficulty scales pretty fast but at no point does it feel like an unreasonable jump in difficulty from one song to the next. There is an endless mode and a timewarp mode that adds a speed multiplier to the songs for added difficulty so in that regard it’s a good game if you want something challenging. The ending leads me to believe the developers might release more games in the series but that’s just speculation until proven otherwise.

A Great, But Rather Short Rhythm Adventure

Rhythm of the Gods, as you can probably tell from the title, is a rhythm game where you have to make your way through a slew of enemies and obstacles while following the music of several different gods that you meet along the protagonist, Lyrik’s, journey.

The Good

-Although short, the story of the game is rather charming, and I liked reading through the dialogue the game had to offer.

-The gameplay is simple, but can be very challenging depending on what difficulty you set.

Play Everhood!! (and nominate the game for best soundtrack!)

–——-

How did this slip my radar?

How are none of my friends talking about this game?

Every year if I am lucky I come across a game so good I wish I could go back in time just to play it for the first time again - and that game always becomes by Game of The Year. That game for me this year is Everhood. And I knew that within 30 minutes of playing the game. I’m nominating the game for Best Soundtrack – cause the OST is amazing and I feel it has a better chance of winning a nomination in that category but it was hard not to vote it as GOTY just from my personal experience with the game.

Everhood is probably one of my favorite games I’ve played this year!! I’m nominating it for best soundtrack because oh my god. There is not one song in this game’s OST that I actively dislike.

The character design and writing is SO good and I found myself liking almost every single one I’ve encountered.

This game can be so weird and funny but at the same time I’ve cried just thinking about the ending!!!

It’s just… REALLY good, I can’t think of much else to say. Putting things into words is really hard for me, but I hope this got my feelings across well.

Music Producer

Music Producer

From the game named “Music Producer” you expect it to be management/simulator game, but this one is simply a rhythm game and a pretty bare-boned and hard to play. I cleared songs, but having hard independent patterns on different keys to play at the same time… better to call friends and leave one key for one human. There is no difficulty settings and a very short song list. Just look at the screens to see the game. And yes, that note-clicking “guitar hero”-style rhythm mode is all this game has.

Not what I expected. - And I wouldn’t call it Music Producer either. As you can see when looking at the screenshots, it’s like “Guitar Hero” with the keyboard. Maybe I’m just too bad at it, but the only way I could earn a little money is, with multiplayer. My son stood next to me and we hit one key each. - Unfortunately it is just about that - playing music and by doing so successfully, leveling up the musicians. With the money earned, you can buy new musicians - new instruments - so you can play other, predefined songs.

Akihabara - Feel the Rhythm Remixed

Akihabara - Feel the Rhythm Remixed

It’s pretty much the same as the non-remixed version only with a couple more songs, but without the bonus DLC mode.

The bonus DLC mode is in my opinion worth more than the extra songs, so play the original first, and then if you still want more you can give this version a try as well.

The main reason I’m giving this game a negative review is because it has broken achievements. If you care about achievements do not get this game.

The broken achievements are Destroyer Deluxe and Blockography.

[Edited this review to account for new changes and response from developer]

This game seemed interesting being a mixture of a puzzle and a rhythm game, but even if you ignore some of the game’s current bugs it mostly feels like a much slower version of Tetris with some background music that doesn’t impact the game much.

The music itself is mostly bland and too calm. It was putting me to sleep at times, which is typically not good for a rhythm game. This music is fine background music for just a puzzle game but the problem is this isn’t just a puzzle game this is also, more so, supposed to be a rhythm game. Rhythm games usually keep players engaged by making players feel like they’re performing the music themselves in one way or another but in this game the music is just a timer to the end of the puzzle and an annoyance you have to deal with to clear matches.

Piano Cat

On a whole it is a good little game. It doesn’t take long to complete and has pretty easy achievements. However, one refuses to unlock for me. I’ve now tried it on two different machines and completed the 3 worlds with out any deaths between the worlds and none worked. My only thing it might be is when it says resume, once you completed level 5 you have to exit into the next world making it void. If they fix this I would happily change my review as I said it’s a good game, although the levels are the same on all 3 worlds so some alteration would be nice also.

Sadly, no.

It looks cute, but it has nothing to do with rhythm or being challenging. Just press buttons shown on screen and that’s it. It’s not related to the background music, it’s almost not related to the cat movement.

Honestly, I thought that it would be something like Give It Up (2) mobile game, and that’s why I bought it. The screenshots look like that, but the gameplay is completely different, to the worse way.

I really like how it looks (oh well, maybe I just like cats). But sadly, I’m disappointed.

But to Paint a Universe

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, ‘If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.’. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- ‘Don’t ever smoke. Please don’t put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.
