Krakatoa

Krakatoa

EDIT: Alright so I just replayed this game TWICE and have to say the majority of all my problems were completely fixed.

I found about 2 new bugs, neither of which were game breaking and I don’t doubt the Dev will fix it as he does really care about this game.

Give this game a shot, it’s well worth it and if I can beat it before the update and twice after so can you.

LOVE THIS GAME, Try it now! I’ll add a link to my new playthrough when I get it uploaded soon.

New Playthrough as promised:

I love this game although at moments it touched a rage nerve lol. But it is great! Good atmosphere but the one thing I will touch on is the fact when you die it sends you back to the start which is really frustrating for me and probably others. But all in all a great game:) Check my playthrough and I got the bad ending so must get the good ending now:) Well doen Dev..I look forward to your next game:)

Foglight

Nice little horror game even though it’s a bit short.

The frames were a bit choppy so I lowered the settings and treated it as a low poly game.

It’s always been John Broyhill’s dream to create a horror game after growing up with them! Foglight (FLT) is that brainchild and he even put out a sequel-sorta called “Foglight Online” 2 months ago!? FLT is my 2nd title to feature a lighthouse structurally and thematically, the first being the enigmatic, delectable No One Lives Under The Lighthouse (NOUL) . And yes, there are some resemblances in plot but the gameplay are light years apart!! Before I begin my rant, I must confess something…

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

“Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?”

~The unknown individual

To be honest, I didn’t really plan to write this review. I mean… what is there to say? It’s the second game in Supermassive’s horror anthology (a series of short spooky stories told in “choose your own adventure” way with some QTE elements) and I already wrote detailed review of Man of Medan (which was the first one), so, like I said, what else is there to say? Surprisingly, it turned out that, even though the core mechanics here is almost identical to what we’ve seen in Man of Medan, the actual storytelling, the structure of the game is pretty different and it does make it to feel… well… different. So… here goes.

“Little Hope” is one of the few cinematic, story driven games that are better played with a friend than alone and this is why I bought it. Unfortunately Supermassive Games let us down once more. We tried it a dozen of times, but just like their previous title the online coop is full of glitches, infinite loading screens and corrupted save files that didn’t let us finish the game. One year later they don’t even bother solving the problems and patching the game. Two years later they haven’t patched “Man of Medan” either. The single player is decent but nothing special. Cool story and atmosphere but definitely a step backward compared to “Man of Medan” as of the gameplay, decisions making and sceneries design. You can try couch coop though.

This game was so much fun and made me laugh so much! Probably the best $2 I’ve ever spent!

A nice silly little game of choices where every turn there is potential death. No matter what happens you won’t be leaving completely intact. The art-style is interesting and everything meshes well together. Its short but worth the time to play.

This game needs serious work! The atmosphere is quite ok, but the graphics are dull and uneventful. So is the time you spend playing - you sometimes see an undefined creature watching you, but it doesn’t really pose a thread.

The only thing you can do: run around and collect stuff. And sometimes the stuff you find can’t even be taken. The only deadly thing about this forest is dead by boredom.

If my own horror-novel becomes this boring, please shoot me…

Just found this $1 horror game and turned out to be pretty good. One time play through, really good scares, its in Russian with no English subtitles so I tried my best to translate. Definitely worth it. Here’s a link of my walk through and my attempts to translate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxrj7M8pd2w

Sooooo you can click English as the language in the settings but that only makes the UI in English. Other than that all the notes and dialog are in another language and there aren’t any subtitles. Besides that the game looks good and played well but I couldn’t understand anything that was going on. Also couldn’t get past the second puzzle (after guessing on the first) because I assume I was supposed to have clues from the story but since I couldn’t understand it I was just lost. If you want to watch my attempted play through you can check out the link below. Idk maybe there was just a setting or something that would have allowed me subtitles but i couldn’t find it. If I could just understand the story this would have been a recommend. (The developers said an English patch will be coming out so I plan on re-reviewing once that is out)
