𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐚𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐆𝐨 𝐓𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐧?

I can’t believe it’s been almost 11 years since this game’s been released. I love this game from the bottom of my heart. I always had interest in story driven games, the moment I saw this game’s trailer I knew it was meant for me. It’s one of those games that defined my personality through my teenage years. How can you not love a game like this. It’s the game that took motion capture to the next level back in those days. Tragic drama thriller movie like game where your choices do actually MATTER. Main characters can die or get injured during their encounters. Every choice you make feels like it will have an impact on your experience. It offers a lot of content and replayability. The action scenes are very intense and gets you locked onto the screen. You can listen to your character’s thoughts that gives you more insight and adds depth about the situation the person’s going through. Which I have missed a lot of them when I was playing 10 years ago even though I’ve played this game more than like 500 hours now I’m discovering new things. To me, Quantic Dream games are really good in terms of creating and establishing scenes as well as writing story with characters and multiple different possibilities. And not to mention the unforgettable magnificent score. It sends shivers down my spine when I hear that Ethan Mars' Theme. Lastly, I believe Quantic Dream company really cares about the content that they’re making at least as I’ve seen from the behind the scenes and artworks.

-How many cliches do you want mr. Cage?

-Yes

I love narrative games so my opinion in this might be a little biased and I obviously recommend this game. It doesn’t come without flaws but we get so little of such games that i’m happy even if it’s not perfect.

Heavy Rain is an interactive-drama thriller. The Origami killer is kidnapping children and drowning them. One of the main character’s son disappears and father who’s name is Ethan gets a message from killer demanding him to take tasks in order to save his son. Killer is testing Ethan’s courage and Ethan must decide how far he will go in order to save his son.

“Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?”

~The unknown individual

To be honest, I didn’t really plan to write this review. I mean… what is there to say? It’s the second game in Supermassive’s horror anthology (a series of short spooky stories told in “choose your own adventure” way with some QTE elements) and I already wrote detailed review of Man of Medan (which was the first one), so, like I said, what else is there to say? Surprisingly, it turned out that, even though the core mechanics here is almost identical to what we’ve seen in Man of Medan, the actual storytelling, the structure of the game is pretty different and it does make it to feel… well… different. So… here goes.

“Little Hope” is one of the few cinematic, story driven games that are better played with a friend than alone and this is why I bought it. Unfortunately Supermassive Games let us down once more. We tried it a dozen of times, but just like their previous title the online coop is full of glitches, infinite loading screens and corrupted save files that didn’t let us finish the game. One year later they don’t even bother solving the problems and patching the game. Two years later they haven’t patched “Man of Medan” either. The single player is decent but nothing special. Cool story and atmosphere but definitely a step backward compared to “Man of Medan” as of the gameplay, decisions making and sceneries design. You can try couch coop though.

Dark Renaissance

Dark Renaissance

From the Author of the best-selling Medici series Matteo Strukul, comes a new exciting Interactive History Drama, pushing the boundaries of video game storytelling and narrative depth.

Dark Renaissance is an adventure game with RPG elements and a compelling and dramatic story, true to historical events, characters and places of the 15th century.

Embark on a journey through key places of the Renaissance world, from Italy to China, going through the fascinating lands of the Middle East and Transylvania. Lend your sword to Lorenzo de' Medici and fight formidable enemies, such as the cunning Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II, the treacherous Anguana and the impetuous Duke Ercole d’Este.

In a land of immense Beauty and ageless mysticism, where families of ruthless powermongers wage battle through generations, the mother of all wars is bound to happen.

In the heart of Firenze, Italy’s cradle of culture and art, Lorenzo il Magnifico, heir to the Medici Family, sits on his throne of riches. After having conquered the economic power of Italy, the Lord of Florence senses a new threat coming, meant to jeopardize his ruler’s status quo. With its power and financial establishment at a stake, The Magnificent must recur to the most legendary soldier on the battlefield: Marco Badoer, a tormented Capitano di Ventura who survived the twilight of Middle Ages to be born again in an age of discovery and wonder.

  • The darkest and grittiest Renaissance epic ever built in a game.

Discover the story of Marco Badoer, one of the last knights of the famed Ordo Draconis, a chivalry order so bloodthirsty that counted Vlad the Impaler himself among its ranks.

  • Meet the rockstars of Italian Renaissance.

From Lorenzo de' Medici to Leonardo da Vinci, you will walk on the shoulder of giants and explore world-famous landmarks such as Venice and Florence. But be wary: ancient pagan magic, Eastern mysticism and occult knowledge will drag you into the darkest corners of human mind.

  • Countless options for roleplaying.

Shape your path through nuanced branches in an intricate web of political conspiracies and moral dilemmas. Will you unleash your vengeful primal self? Or you’ll rather stay balanced as a monk through wise decisions? The choice is yours.

  • The art of War.

Choose among several weapons of the time, face your enemies in strategic duels and lead your troops in open field battles. Get ready to become a strategist, thanks to unique staged combat sequences blending opera and brutal RPG action.

  • Sex, drugs and gambling.

From the opium-filled hammam of Constantinople, to the alcova of the most beautiful courtesans in Florence, the darker side of European history will unveil in front of your eyes, while a romance and social linking system will let you decide to desecrate your body as much as you wish.

  • Enjoy high-class Renaissance living.

Behold the beauty of Italy in all of its splendor during the Main Quest, and kick back with a glass of wine at Villa del Drago, home to Marco Badoer. To transform this old house in a luxurious mansion, filled with fine Tuscany spirits and tasty food, it’s up to you, thanks to the currency and historical accurate card games.

  • A political manifesto from the past.

After condemning the horrors of totalitarianism and datacracy in the award-winning Dry Drowning, Studio V goes back to its roots, to push again the boundaries of philosophical and political discourse in gaming. Swept under the rug of a beautiful world, tales of corruption, violence and dirty money await for the player to be discovered.

  • Original soundtrack.

An original symphonic score by the award-winning composer David Logan, mixing and matching ancient and modern styles.

Blacksad: Under the Skin

Blacksad: Under the Skin

Blacksad: Under the Skin is a good game, but a rather unpolished one. It plays very similarly to the Telltale style and is reminiscent of The Wolf Among Us due to its grimy New York crime setting and visuals. You can expect a choice in dialogue options, free exploration of larger areas to find clues, making deductions by linking together your findings and examining characters (like in recent Sherlock games) and some quick-time events (QTEs) scattered here and there in the action cutscenes. As far as I know, the game is an interactive adaptation of a comic book series and features a brand new story not seen in the comics.

Blacksad: Under the Bugs

TLDR: Great story, great characters, nice music. Bad gameplay, bugs and other things that will turn a lot of people off.

Ok, this will be a tough case to crack. I will tell the problems so people interested in this game be wary, but in the end I recommend it. Basically… this game won’t be for everyone, not because of the story and themes nor because it’s a bunch of antrophomorphic characters in a noir setting…

But because the gameplay is quite bad.

I’m a love interest in my childhood friend’s reverse harem!!!

I really liked the game! It has a unique idea. You can romance the boys or the MC itself! There is also a polyamory route! It has 11 endings and I had to replay a lot to get all of them. Overall, I enjoyed it. It was really cute.

A fun game filled with charm and humour

An Australian experience of slang, pop culture and a core of multiculturalism in its cast of Ao, Geum, Hong Yang and Emily.

The writing style is fun and upbeat and makes the characters feel like people you want to spend more time with and get to know further.

Multiple endings with each character, the options can lead to unexpected endings.

Mini games that influence interaction (and make you question your knowledge).

I’ve now bought this game twice now that it’s available on steam and i cant wait to replay it.

Dream of Tomorrow

Accompany Lena, a young creative student on her adventure – solve tricky puzzles, experience funny situations and confront mean bullies!

Hardly a day goes by where Lena is not bullied in some way. Why? Because she is not like the others. She is a sensitive, creative and helpful person who is not interested in things like trends and fashion. Since she is being raised by her grandparents, those topics are not really important in her everyday life. This is one of the reasons why she is the target of a group of bullies who constantly harass her.

Of Bird and Cage

After waiting patiently for this game to release, I can firmly say the end product being so much more than I expected. The game plays on some very intense situations as you join Gitta on her downward spiral into addiction. You’re placed in scenarios where bad decisions can cost you your sanity and really throws out the question of how far are you willing to go for your next fix. One thing I absolutely loved about this game is that you can choose to not partake in Gitta’s vices, but will equally struggle with getting by. Indulging in her addiction will lead you down a broken path, but choosing to stay sober will give you a chance to experience the mind-numbing struggle of needing to take one more hit, but refusing to do so. That is really well done in this game.

Of Bird and Cage doesn’t really start until you approach the sound guy and ask to have your demo CD played.  It is this very CD that provides the non-stop musical engine that drives the rest of this two-hour experience divided across three multi-part Acts and a summary credit sequence and epilogue.  Once the music starts to play each and every scene in the game will unfold at the pace and length of each song, as displayed by the track progression meter at the bottom.  When the music stops, the level ends regardless of what you have or haven’t done.  You could simply stand there and do nothing for the duration of the song and the story will continue, albeit taking the failure path vs. a potentially different path if you were to accomplish the listed objectives.  A list of tasks and sometimes collectibles will tell you what needs done before the music stops.
