Over 9000 Zombies!

Over 9000 Zombies!

Over 9000 Zombies is a top down 2D shooter that is in development, and what was given to us on day one was great in my opinion, it is simple, it’s easy to get into. Alot like Nation Red without the absurdly overwhelming difficulty to start out on. You collect scrap that zombies drop to fortify where you wish to dig in at, you can also build turrents and find new weaponry that zombies may drop. There are also an absurd ammount of zombies on screen at one time, there is veriations of zombies among the horde that don’t feel so rehashed. A massive assortment of weapons that you can pick up that carry from game to game to make you stronger aginst the zombie threat plus new weapons to pick up ontop of that.

Looking to invest your time in a short game that, despite being just that, is also very entertaining? Well, Over 9000 Zombies! brings many things to the table - over 9000 different helpings in fact (just kidding).

–——————————————————-

Through a retro styled theme, Over 9000 Zombies! does what many other zombie survival games can’t. It brings thrills and fun into the realm of an already bloated genre that verge on impossible, annoying, complex, or expensive. For the low low price of $1,49, and for a two-pack no less, you will most certainly be entertained for long periods of time. Take a step back into the late 1990s. Experience gaming through its purest lens. This is honestly a great little title that you can play with any friend.

At $15 I was on the fence for a while about this game. I’m glad I finally just bought it. I knew seconds into the game it was exactly what I was hoping it would be.

It’s like a Tron-inspired dual-stick shooter with a glitchy 80s/VHS look and feel to it.

It’s multiplayer only at this point. I do hope they add bots eventually, but even if that never happens I’ll be happy with the purchase. They could even do a “campaign” with single-player or coop fighting from level to level versus bots.

Great variety of weapons, interesting power-ups and level design. The controls are perfect. It gets a bit hectic when the arena is spinning, sections of the floor are moving, the walls are closing in, and random red balls of death are raining down on you from above. Rounds rarely last 20 seconds. Most are around 5 seconds or less.

I think the game is great for the price. Gameplay is smooth, graphics are nice. The only thing up for improvement might be control over the length of the game. I can’t wait to see the online multi-player mode develop for this. Excellent early access game for couch gaming.

From Space

From Space

From Space is an online co-op game where you and a squad of friends take on the challenge of liberating the Earth from a brain-hungry infestation. Explore the world and help the human resistance regain ground against the invaders, improving skills and building your arsenal of weapons as you explore every corner of this post-apocalyptic world.

  • On-line, co-op. Till you drop.

  • Satisfying progression through perks that change the way you play.

  • Endless hordes of pink, brain-hungry aliens to annihilate.

  • Over-the-top weaponry so satisfying you won’t stop playing.

  • Customize your character, make your squad unique.

  • Much, much more to come!

A swarm of meteors has for millennia been chased through the galaxy by alien creatures, who have grown addicted to the consumption of energy dense crystals growing on every rock of the swarm. The consumption of energy from the crystals once gave the aliens wisdom and strength but have now corrupted and mutated the species and turned them into zombie-like creatures who will destroy anything in their path to obtain even a grain of the crystals.

The meteors are hurtling through space, and Earth is the next planet in its path. It’s destiny and that of all living things is seemingly decided.

What better to combat an invading alien species with than over-the-top weaponry? From Space has got plenty of it. Every weapon has been designed to be super-satisfying to play with, from the sounds they make to the visuals they show on the screen. Rocket launchers, miniguns, flamethrowers and many more …

Mowing down aliens is fun, but there’s more to it. Throughout the world you can discover perks that will change the behavior of your character and weapons. Turn yourself in the ultimate tank that takes the brunt of any attack while your buddies are set up to do maximum damage. You’ll need to find ways to combat increasingly more powerful aliens, and perks is the way to do this. No worries, no choice is permanent and all perks can be swapped between teammates.

While you’re under constant threat, there’s more you and your team needs to do to be successful. Prototype weaponry that harnesses the power of the energy crystals has been developed by the military using the shells of autonomous thermonuclear drones. The weapons aren’t fully developed however, and need to be charged and guided to their destination by the squad in order to inflict the most damage.

TANKNAROK

TANKNAROK

Its a pretty good multiplayer party game.

The game has fairly simple controls and easy to pick up, its very fast paced and chaotic, with lots of visual effects, environemntal hazards and a wide variety of mostly randomly spawned weapons and gadgets. One round mostly lasts less than a minute, while an entire game lasts around five minutes. It makes it perfect for when you have a little bit of time to kill and a few friends around.

The only real cons with this game are its lack of single player features and a bit of wonkiness with the online multiplayer. However, neither of these are big issues, since this game works best with the local multiplayer. So, if you have some friends who want to play this with you, id definitely recommend it.

Developer posted about this game on social media. Took a quick look at the discount and video and purchased immediately. Got to play with my son tonight and we had a blast. Reminds us of the quick map changes and random weapons we loved in stick fight from another developer. This game is well polished and very fun to play. Just need more people to buy and enjoy the game so I can have more of you to play online with! I highly recommend this game especially if you have a setup to allow couch co-op.

So… this is a free game, and it starts out feeling ok. The basic gameplay isn’t a problem. The issues begin after playing for 15+ minutes and you realize that you’d like your player to die in case there is an upgrade to add variety to the overall gameplay. Well, the upgrades are ridiculously expensive and that means grinding for at least an hour or two before going for the cheapest of them… The overall experience is negative due to the lack of variety. I can’t suggest to anyone spending more than 15 minutes playing it.

Cautiously Recommend–Feels Very Much Unfinished

Stumbled upon this a few days back, wishlisted it and bought it today on a whim really digging the music and look the game has. Sometimes you strike out, sometimes you hit paydirt. This is paydirt, a diamond in the rough that after time can be awesome.

It’s VERY rough around the edges and definitely could use lots more polish but it’s highly addictive and the fun factor is very strong if you can get past the many nuances that hold this game back from being amazing.

I’ve written a fairly neutral preview for this game on Gamer Escape, which you can find here: https://gamerescape.com/2020/06/29/preview-danger-scavenger/ . At that time, the game had just switched from being official release to Early Access to address the user feedback based on the mixed steam reivew score (At Gamer Escape we do not do scored reviews for Early Access games)

Within days, the devs for this game have already gone to work with their stated goal: Make the game more appealing to both the twin-stick shooter fans and the roguelike fans whom both had issues with how these mechanics were combined. They have added “Arcade Mode”, which removes the roguelike permadeath mechanics, but also in this mode, each character starts from a different tower, so you get more of a distinct experience with each character in this mode. While it kind of comes off as just a lowered difficulty setting, it does open the game up to a lot of people who find the punishing nature of the roguelike style more frustrating than fun.
