RetroArch
At last, the ultimate emulator front-end has arrived on Steam. As someone who loves playing retro games, RetroArch has been my personal preference for emulation for the past 3 or so years. While it takes a little getting used to, the features it provides and the emulation cores (the actual emulators) it has are superb.
On top of simple emulation and your standard emulator quality of life (like save states, fast forward, rewind, etc.), RetroArch provides netplay (allowing users to connect each other online for a simulated couch play) though Steam itself also provides this; shaders to enhance how a game looks or to recreate the original console’s appearance with CRT filters; a built-in video record function, achievement support via RetroAchievements; per-game controller bindings and configs; and a bunch more.

Despite there being plenty of problems to complain about - long-standing issues with control mapping being one of the major ones - RetroArch is still easily the best emulation software I’ve ever used, and my experience goes all the way back to Nesticle in the late ’90s.
The major benefit of RetroArch is being emulate pretty much every console or computer system prior to the PS2/GameCube/XBox generation, plus a few more modern ones like the PSP. Not only that, but the available cores also tend to be more accurate when compared to standalone emulators. This is particularly notable for systems like Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, and Sega Saturn, all of which were difficult to emulate for many years, but today have high-accuracy cores available in RetroArch.

Super Arcade Football
I would like to write this review mainly for the developers in order to assist them with the development of their game. I think this game is a gem especially for older people like me who miss the good old days of kick off, which is now abondonware software, from amiga 500. However, I think the developers are not hitting the sweet spot for people like me. Below are a few suggestions for the developers to take into consideration.
1. In the current version, the story mode is a good start. I think you can make that story mode amazing by incorporating the aspects of the “player manager” game from the Amiga 500.

I’ve been into football games since Match Day and Football Manager on the BBC Micro. I’ve played a few since then: Kick Off, Player Manager, Sensible Soccer, Kick Off 2 and Goal! Although I never really got in to FIFA or Pro Evo. I was after a more old school footie kickabout game I could enjoy with my friends. So from the end my Amiga days until now there is a massive gap in my football games. I have never really found anything as good as Kick Off or Sensi. Then I heard about Super Arcade Football on Steam Greenlight.

Astonia Resurgence
Astonia Resurgence is a great version of the old school Astonia 3 MMORPG.
For new players: it is an older game, so visually it might not be as appealing as some 4k games you can play. Howver it has unique leveling and stat systems that make it pretty enjoyable if given the chance. Stick around a few hours and you’ll find it’s quite fun. I still hop on old runescape for the sheer fun, not for the visual perfections.
As an old school player there are Some Nice Quality of life updates from the original such as su/gu and most things you pick up going directly into inventory, all the orbs( 10-RD99) now being located in an area in Aston. (Running orb alts used to be a pain).

First of all I must preface that this game is a revamped version of a 30 year old game and through the decades there have been several attempts from other servers to bring it back to life.
Personally this is hands down the best version released to date. OW Astonia was a grind, and is not for most people since fighting and movement aren’t in 3D and there’s not really button mashing like some of the newer RPGs. That being said there are a lot of improvements to quality of life that have already been implemented since release and surpass other servers by leaps and bounds. I really appreciate the community and it does seem to be growing, a mix of knowledgeable OW players with new ones coming on. Developers are constantly adding Quality Of Life/New updates on a timely and consistent manner and any issues are quickly resolved. Suggestions are taken into consideration and implemented. I’d highly recommend joining the discord server as well as there is a lot of useful information for new players already pinned.

Castle Clamber
Castle Clambers is an addictive little high-score platform game that could come straight from the arcade halls. And just like games in an arcade hall, it makes you keep playing.
With the low price and simple game mechanics I did not expect this game would be fantastic, so it surprised me in a good way. It may not keep you playing for days or hours straight on end, but (at least for me) it makes me come back to play a few games every now and then. Especially with the developer still giving his/her project attention, which is much more than I expected. Both the game and dev deserve a bigger player base.

Awesomely fun retro arcade game! It has tons of levels with loads of variety, and the controls are super tight which makes it lots of fun to play. The art style is fantastic, you can tell a lot of effort has gone into making it pixel perfect. Everything is really well polished. I totally recommend picking this up.

Handy Harry’s Haunted House Services
This game is amazing. The community is small, but awesome, the gameplay is simple, but lots of fun, and the developer is extremely hardworking and listens to what the players have to say. I cannot wait to see how this game will improve in the future. I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a casual multiplayer horror game to play with a few friends. Even those without friends can join the official discord server and there is always someone to play with. I give this game a 9.5/10 overall

Keeping in mind that this game is early access, it is nothing short of great.
It’s pixelated aesthetic and good use of sound makes the game extra spooky and fun to play with friends.
The gameplay can be quite monotonous, depending on your luck with level generation, but the overall simple mechanics mixed with intense moments and victories makes it very well worth the price if you have other people to play with.
Keep in mind that the game is still early access, and the gameplay changes drastically with each update, although most of the changes improve the overall game and bring many new things to the table.

Juan v Juan
A solid typing-shooter with hilariously creative character art and design. Although frustrating when my opponent can apparently type as fast as a macro, I can see this being a neat, chill game to play.

Juan v Juan is a simple game but has a unique charm within it. It reminds me the days when my dad took me to work and i played browser games on his pc. Back then i was laughing in enjoyment to silly kid games but with this game im laughing because of frustration.
Jokes aside the game might look easy to play but trust me when you load the game up for the first time read the fucking “How to play” if you don’t want to look like an idiot. It’s not just about shooting, what makes the game interesting is the whole reloading concept with balanced perks you unlock later on in the game. The pixel art is also pleasing to look at.

NAMCO MUSEUM ARCHIVES Vol 1
Worth the price for Tower of Druaga alone, but Splatterhouse, & Pac-man CE put the collection over the top.
After playing a few hours of this collection, I was ready to give it a big-fat thumbs down. NES Galaxian, NES Dig-Dug, NES Xevious, and NES Pac-man are some of the worst games I have ever played. They were boring, horrible, unresponsive conversions back in the day, and they are every bit as bad as I remember them. Before moving on to the positives, there’s one more game to add to the worst games I have ever played list… Dragon Buster… unresponsive controls, boring, and repetitive. Dragon Buster is truly excruciating. Thank heavens for the rewind feature…
– Real player with 21.2 hrs in game
Finally some classic collection with “rewind” function, unlike all those Konami “anniversary” compilations. Here you can revisit some NES games without being a tryhard…
Also, the control mappings are better than I’ve seen in most of the other similar products. All the buttons already in the right place in the official controller configuration, on my 8bitdo gamepad that isn’t mainstream these days.
P.s. yes, it’s a copy of my review for vol.2 of these “archives”, which is basically the same thing with different “roms”. Well, this is probably my only complaint about these, and many other similar products. This salami-slicing of the games which can be made as a single app with DLCs has some scent of a cash grab. Look at the Sega Genesis Collection - one hub for all the games they’ve managed to bring to Steam, each in its own separate DLC, $40 the huge bundle and everyone is happy because it’s a well-organized collection which is nice to have. But having two apps already creates a mess: if I want to play some Namco NES game, I need to guess in which of the volume it is. Not to mention that there’s already a separate app for Galaga, Dig Dug 2, and dozen of Pac-Man apps in Steam…

NAMCO MUSEUM ARCHIVES Vol 2
I would only recommend this collection, and volume 1 for a lot less than Namco is selling them. I already have the Arcade versions of Dig Dug, Galaga, Pac-Man, and Ms. Pac-Man, so I don’t need downgraded NES versions of those games, plus I have Pac-Man Museum modded with dgVoodoo 2, I don’t need Pac-Man Championship Edition, I do like the demake a little. I would recommend these game come with the originally released Namco Museum [Arcade compilation] for PC, since the original is not compatible with Windows 10 Pro. For real I want to see the Arcade versions of these games more than 8-bit console versions
– Real player with 11.2 hrs in game
Namco Museum Archives Volume 2 is a mostly fantastic addition to Volume 1. Setting the table for this review, I’ve only played Gaplus (Arcade), Galaga (NES) and Mappy-Land (NES) when originally released. The rest are all new to me.
Of the 11 games included, 3 are duds: Pac-Land, Super Xevious, and Battle City. Battle City fails as a Tower Defense-type of game. There is only 1 strategy – Move your tank to the top of the screen and shoot left and right just before the enemy re-spawns. Boring. There’s nothing ‘Super’ about Super Xevious. I didn’t like the original Xevious' bland graphics and repetitive design, and Super Xevious is hardly an improvement. Boring. Pac-Land rounds out the negative side of things. Another game I can add to my list of ‘Worst games I have ever played.’ I understand in 1984 Pac-Land was hailed for its unique controls and colorful graphics, but I offer no quarter today. Pac-Land has an atrocious control scheme. Experiencing the joystick as ‘jump’ is wretched, and the graphics of Pac-Land aren’t ‘Pac-man’ enough. The cartoon-y style seems lifted from Roberta Williams' earlier games, which irrational took me out of Pac-Land.
