The Last Cadet

The Last Cadet

A mission gone wrong, an ancient monster awaken!

A private military company is hired to escort a laboratory team in a submarine to recover a valuable specimen near an abandoned deep sea facility. As the laboratory team and part of the military personnel explore the target site, things go wrong almost immediately. An ancient monster attacks the submarine and sinks it, ruining the submarine’s communication links. A mere cadet, John “Flash Pan” Pinback is the team’s last hope at survival as the only escape route is a mini-sub that’s in bad need of replacement parts, which Flash Pan can find and fix. Meanwhile, Captain Valeria Buenrostro must search the submarine and target site to save her squad members while dealing with constant sabotage from an unknown source.

Twin-stick action-driven survival horror in a 1-bit, deep sea metroidvania!

Play the individual stories of Flash Pan and Captain Buenrostro to discover the truth behind the ill-fated mission and unravel the not so abandoned deep sea facility, all the while surviving the wrath of an ancient monster and a submarine filled with mutated versions of electric eels, jellyfish, and sharks.

Make the most of available resources and dive into an array of weapons with unique ways to use them!

Light is scarce with the only sources being the few working lamps, resident bioluminescent marine life, and the deep sea suit. Use twin stick controls to survive the horrors that are drifting in the darkness with multiple weapons, some of which can be used in unique ways like dashing with the harpoon gun, high jumping with the shotgun’s recoil, and busting open stuck doors with a flamethrower-like welding kit.

Play with a friend and sink together into a world 20,000 pixels below normalcy …

Couch co-op experience with multiple modes as Flash Pan and Captain Buenrostro. Take on waves of enemies coming at you at full strength or complete missions together from clearing enemies from specific areas to scavenger hunts.

⛺Graphics:

👉 Amazing visuals and beautiful art style, similar to the game Badland . Even the blue/red orbs are spread in an aesthetic way

🎮Gameplay:

☐ Terrible.

☐ Average.

☑ Good.

👉 Outland is very well made mix of platformer and bullet hell. I also liked the unique concept of switching between blue and red to avoid getting hit by the orbs. (For example if the orbs are red, then by switching your character to red, the orbs won’t hurt you)

It’s like Castlevania, but with a polarity gimmick!

Welcome to Outland, a Metroidvania title about a warrior plagued with visions of deities threatening to break out of their prison. These deities are responsible for creating the world, but now threaten to destroy it. They’re sealed away by the hero and the hero becomes an amnesiac until they threaten to break out of their prison. Now playing as a re-awoken hero from 3000 years ago, you destroy several of the world’s creators in an effort to save the world. (Like Kratos from God of War, but…not that evil… shudder)

Evolver

Evolver

Gameplay Synopsis:

Evolver blends competitive fighting with quantum-cyberpunk-scifi to create a world of bizarre weapons, unconventional fighting styles, and wildly eccentric characters. Fighters wield weapons such as hand-held guillotines and giant surgical lancets, and couple them with super powers and martial arts to (sometimes literally) destroy their enemies.

Evolver’s combat mechanics are unique among 2D fighting systems in that it combines elements of traditional fighters with those of platform fighters. It also replaces traditional blocking with a unique evade-and-parry based defense system. Additionally, players choose their attack sets before each round with each character having 15 unique moveset combinations. Evolver’s combo system is friendly to inexperienced players and button mashers thanks to it’s auto combo mechanic, but also rewards seasoned fighting game players who put the time into creating complex attack sequences and mixups.

Exploaris: Vermis story

The game looks good, the music is great, but I would like more dynamics, the developers really tried over it. Early access due to the small amount of content, takes 2-4 hours. and tutorials would be great!

Real player with 3.9 hrs in game

There is a lot of good stuff going on here.

-Hand drawn art is beautiful.

-Soundtrack is very relaxing and solid.

Unfortunately, the bad stuff needs a lot of work.

-Tutorial needs to include how/why to control 2 characters at once.

-The fighting feels sort of pointless.

-There are apparently upgrades and other attacks but I never got to do anything other than a simple punch.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

We’ve been waiting for this game since it came out exclusively XBLA to arrive on PC and now we’ve been waiting even longter for it to finally remove GFWL. Now we got that, too!

ITSP is a Metroidvania-type game where you control a flying saucer through an… well, an insanely twisted shadow planet! You gain new abilities and have to backtrack to other locations where your new ability will come in handy. The visual aesthetics are comical yet not ridiculous, the sound design is quite intense. The game’s cutscenes feature music by Dimmu Borgir, whereas the background music is more atmospheric yet not less fitting.

Real player with 27.1 hrs in game

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a quite old indie game: it came out more than 9 years ago, when indie games were still a new concept to many people and Xbox Live Arcade was the biggest online shop that promoted them. Its old age can be inferred not only from its publisher, but also by the game itself.

At the time, indie games weren’t as established as today, so, to stand out, they had to provide interesting ideas that could’t be found in mainstream titles. On a superficial level, ITSP’s most standout feature is its art design: similarly to contemporary games like World of Goo and Limbo, the most used color is black, with other colors used for the background or to highlight important elements like interactables and enemies; this use of colors is what attracted a lot of people and it’s clearly the most important aspect of the game, as the title itself can attest.

UnEpic

UnEpic

Unepic for me is considered one of the best games I’ve ever played. While I play this game and I am writing notes in my book, I can describe that I feel a lot of fluency because I travel at least 20 years ago, where at 10 years I tried to unravel certain platform games like pc snes or megadrive. This for me is considered a good snes game but with a modern twist.

This is a game that is a little difficult to play, because it requires a lot of effort and sacrifice spirit to be able to enjoy this beautiful game. This game has some similarities to the Castelvania, a game created in 1987 for snes and that had a great success until 2010. To walk in a giant castle, from room to room with the lights out, without knowing the danger that awaits to us, does not seem to be An easy task, but when we light up all the torches and we come across a room filled with enemy goblins, orcs, skeletons, and other villains thirsting for revenge, then yes we have all the items to be a good game. This game is full of quests and side_quests where we can win several items that can be extremely valuable in another part of the game.

Real player with 65.6 hrs in game

There is two part to this game : Solo and Muli.

Solo is a good adventure, fun to play, fun story, a bit of humor (mostly scatological or pop culture winks) and a good scenario. A great metroidvania with 3 littles flaws :

  1. Combat system is horrible. Can’t dodge, can’t kite (beside 2 very slow creatures in the game). You either kill from afar before they reach you or you slugfest them to death while chugging healing pots and rejuv spell. Jump are awfull, weapons animations are clunky, spells must be done standing and are interupted by anything. Pets (free moving and firing companions) are often the best source of dps/CC you will have.

King Lucas

King Lucas

King Lucas meets its mark as an exploration adventure set in a large world, but it lacks the polish and finesse that would make it truly shine out among others.

I did complete all ten levels of the single player mode, and I’ll admit that the challenge of navigating through such a large world was fun. The game provides a limited number of tools that, when used efficiently, allowed me to finish the game in about 8 hours of playtime. I like the novel twist on level design, with an evolving castle on a scale that reminded me of the maze from the World’s Largest Dungeon pen and paper RPG.

The game was given via curator connect. If you want to see more of our reviews, subscribe: True Reviews English Edition

This game could be more cool. Single player mode is nice. It has different rooms, weapons and monsters, it kinda challenging. But anyway game became more repetitive with every time I played it.

Multiplayer could save this game because it has a really nice concept. Who will find the princess first will have prize fund. But unfortunately there’s no players in it. You can invite your friends with game but I think it should be hard.
