Ghost Hunters Corp

Ghost Hunters Corp

This Game is a Gem. It sets itself apart from phasmo in many ways. It’a way more interactive than phasmo.

I love that we can buy/bring as many items as we want. We are not limited in this game.

You can pick up items around the map and throw them about and make the ghosts mad. Or even take some of the cursed map assets back to base for more money. The Ghost can follow you back to the Van, and even break the door off. House doors also get yeeted.

I’m used to give a chance to early access games, even if it means I could encounter bugs, crashes and lags (I’ve been playing ARK survival since the start in june 2015 !) But Ghost Hunters Corp is not an alpha game, it’s very well made and simply needs a few more contents to be released.

Don’t trust those raging players that yell it’s a copy of Phasmo. I also play Phasmo and it’s absolutly not the same game. Of course, the idea is the same, but the gameplay is slightly different: in GHC, you need to find which entity you seek before exorcism it. And AI’s behavior and reaction are different. The fear it gives you is also not the same. I like jumping on one and the other as if I did different missions, as being another kind of hunter 😊 It’s a real pleasure, except when I go to bed after that!

Unfortunate Spacemen

This game has everything a among us player wants plus sooooooo much more.

First of all this game is free and I mean free not loot boxs or pay to win mechanics, there are somewhat overpriced cosmetics but they are purely cosmetic and ad no gameplay advantage.

There is a story mode which is not bad, a survival mode that’s pretty meh, and shapeshifter the reason everyone plays without going into a long wall of text One of you is a monster and everyone’s name is hidden as a color. Instead of scaresolution for example you see blue the monster looks human until he transforms and the twist he can change color.

Unfortunate spacemen is where you play as one of many unfortunate spacemen/women stuck on a station with a shapeshifting monster that’s out to screw you over one way or another. (there are other gamemodes, however the game and this review will revolve mostly around the shapeshifter gamemode)

Pros:

  • Very large amount of replayability, it has a justifiable amount of maps and weapons that show up in random spots, as do the objectives.

  • Fantastic OST, the recently added menu music is something I can’t help but jam out to (I miss the old music though :( )

Excellent game! Very challenging but not impossible to figure out. The hint system is very good at pushing you in the right direction without flat out giving you the answer. I invited my friends into Discord and we all brainstormed together to figure it out. It almost felt like we were there in real life figuring out as a group which was awesome! Don’t listen to the negative reviews that were left because the game was too difficult. A lot of thought and effort went into this game and it shows.

Legacies

In Legacies you are a team of eco-vigilantes who are trying to do good with what they got. Choose from an assortment of tech filled submarines, investigate distress beacons and gather evidence to discover what caused the cry for help. But beware, dangers lurk above and below the water.

Distress beacons can vary from ecological, exploitation or even natural disasters. It’s up to your team to work together to discover the cause, log the evidence required, and choose whether it’s time to fight or flight. Your team could turn in your evidence for money, or face the problem head on for an even larger reward.

Wolflord - Werewolf Online

Wolflord - Werewolf Online

Wolflord has taken up my time as the only social deduction based game that I play to this day.

I started out in this genre making content on other SD games for a long time, and although I put a lot of hours into those games and wanted to enjoy them, various things would continuously turn me away. I can say that Wolflord has never been that way for me.

The game itself has a slightly different format to your more popular SD games, where “copy paste last will’s” is what the game revolves around. However, this game focuses more on actual deduction rather than simply reading out a players' will and determining whether that information is correct based on shared knowledge. Every phase of the game feels important, and compliments the day/night cycle as a whole very well. Roles are very well thought out, and while some are favoured over others, I can say that I never truly feel like I ever get cast as a “useless” or “boring” role with this game.

Real player with 346.0 hrs in game

Keep in mind this game is still in beta at the time I am writing this, so it is still early and the community is niche, but their Discord is active and a good way to gather games if you’re looking for more games without having to add so many bots. I’m sure as time goes on after getting out of beta, Town of Salem and Throne of Lies players may migrate over here. The game itself is very interesting, you can set your own role list based on the class cards/rules cards so the possibilities are endless, AND it even indicates how balanced between factions the setup is, which you don’t exactly see in Town of Salem custom lobbies. But yes, I do see potential in this game and intend to add it to my social deduction streaming repertoire and look forward to helping build the community. Very much recommended.

Eville

Eville

Betray your friends- and lie your way to victory. In the multiplayer social deduction game Eville you find yourself in a village riddled by a series of murders. Some say it might have been you - or was it? Convince others you’re not a murderer to stay alive!

Inspired by popular social-deduction party games such as Werewolves this is a new take on the concept with realtime gameplay and interaction. Take on the role of a Villager or Conspirator and do your deeds when no one is watching. Place wards to observe other players or tread through the village to visit any house and go on a killing spree. It is your task to communicate with other players and prove your innocence. Use your unique role abilities to your advantage and make sure your team survives.

Devious murders are taking place in the once peaceful village of Eville. Each day the Villagers can decide on suspects and execute them until all evil-doers are found. Each night however the Conspirators gather and decide to murder another innocent Villager until they take over the village. You play as a random role and have no idea who is on your side. Use your abilities and social skills to find out!

Objective: Stay alive and discover the conspirators!

  • Win by executing all conspirators

  • Call in meetings, vote out and execute the Conspirators

  • Find your dead friends and use your abilities and social skills to find out who murdered them

  • Brew potions to save yourself, others, or poison people you think are suspicious

  • Lift the curses and evil magics brought upon Eville by the Conspirators

  • Trade with vendors and acquire items to protect yourself and gather intel on other players

  • Use your unique role abilities to observe players, talk to ghosts, see footsteps or place traps in the village

Objective: Deflect accusations and murder the Villagers!

  • Win by killing all innocent Villagers

  • Get rid of Villagers by sneaking into their home at night and murdering them, or trick Villagers with your deceptive skills

  • Wake up at night, steal and deceive the sleeping villagers

  • Put evil curses upon the village, securing your win

  • Buy trade goods on the black market, giving you unique items such as boots to protect you from traps

  • Use the underground to traverse through Eville in secret

In Eville you assume a randomly assigned role for each session. Convince others that you’re on their side to stay alive! Here are some of the available roles:

  • Detective - A nimble noble with an exceptional eye for the truth.

  • Axe Murderer - A blade master that got off the right path.

  • Shape Shifter - No one really knows who she is, and those that do never see her again.

  • Ghost Whisperer - A mystic with the ability to communicate with deceased Villagers.

  • Slanderer - Never takes the blame for anything. Always tries to frame others.

  • Trapper - A lone ranger with a powerful arsenal.

  • Seer - Places magical wards and observes other players during the night.

  • Mayor - Everyone knows him and everyone pays him.

  • Thief - Watch out for this one, or you’ll soon have nothing!

  • Guard - A crusader of justice and truth.

  • Smuggler - A master of the underground - clearing secret paths directly to a player’s home

More roles will be revealed!

  • Real-time 3D gameplay: Interact with players, vendors, NPCs, use items, visit player homes and use your role-specific abilities

  • Player Customization: Choose a Skin, Equipment, Accessories, Paintings, Stickers, Emotes, and more

  • Game Settings: Set custom rules for your own play session

  • Scalable session size: Roles are distributed and balanced automatically based on the number of players in your game

  • Rich discord integration (coming soon)

We take the community’s input very seriously. Listening to the feature requests and feedback from our fans is important to us, that’s why fans can have a direct line to us, via our discord community channel; where they’ll be able to discuss the development of Eville with us. Quite often game developers suffer from tunnel-vision, and we’re no exception. Having a springboard to bounce ideas back and forth with, can be quite refreshing. At the end of the day, our goal is to create a fun experience, and having the community’s direct feedback is essential to this process.

The environment and textures are beautiful and the game loads quickly. However as expected of an early access game, all the animations and entity interactions aren’t there yet and there are quite a few bugs to be found: Getting stuck on staircases which crashes the game, doors not opening, the main monster leaving you in an area that if you revive you are stuck in map geometry.. the list goes on.

So while it has entirely been worth the early access payment, I can’t really play more than a couple sessions without getting a little frustrated at situations where the players did nothing wrong but the game is lost. I also feel that on “easy” the game is very difficult even if played almost perfectly. The AI “guards” the final(?) timed objective fiercely and unfairly.

Love the atmosphere, the style/graphics and the gameplay is fun, very challenging .

I hope they keep working on this game and add more stuff

No matchmaking, Server list where you can jump into people’s lobby

2 type of enemies, smaller ones can be killed the big one can not be killed, You run you hide and avoid it, if it catches you it will kill you instantly.

Use the power pods to lose aggro from the big enemy.

You get objectives you must clear on the map.

Find key cards, energy cells, hack computers to gain security codes.

First Class Escape: The Train of Thought

First Class Escape: The Train of Thought

I’d really like to recommend this, but that Chapter 4… it sapped the fun :( and made it almost impossible to finish the game. Great setting and ideas up to then, if sometimes let down by the execution. The co-op hosting was seamless, controls were fine, and how nice to find notes not littered with errors. I loved working out the guests, but searching a bookcase three times for that one you can interact with? Dull and frustrating. Collectables are a fun addition… sometimes they were more clever and satisfying to retrieve than solving the puzzles!

Real player with 5.8 hrs in game

Just finished playing this game in single player mode. Overall the game was enjoyable…graphics are nicely done and the puzzles for the most part were not overly difficult. I see some people giving the game negative reviews because some of the puzzles on Level 4 were challenging…if you take your time and examine how each machine works, you can eventually solve them without the need for a walkthrough.

Having said that, this is a new game and some refinement is needed. Having to drag things with the mouse (opening drawers, turning dials, etc.) is tedious and annoying….there has to be a better way to do this. There’s also apparently no way to customize the keyboard controls and no info that I could find on which keys do what. It’s also almost impossible to read some of the notes when you pick them up…the text is tiny and I could find no way to magnify it. Playing on a large screen TV sitting maybe 5 feet away, I had to get up and stand 6" away from the text to read it.
