Tower Unite

Tower Unite

A social minigame simulator with a heavy emphasis on meta progression/customization and community interaction. What started as a Gmod custom server has evolved into an incredible standalone activity filled social space, and one of my all time favorite games. While socializing isn’t necessary in Tower Unite, it might be kind of hard to avoid getting roped into it once in awhile ;).

Highly recommend this game to those who like achievement hunting, social spaces, house building/customizing, minigames (minigolf, bowling, supermonkeyball, infection, arcade games, gambling, fishing, etc.), seeing player created content (workshop and player housing), and/or item collecting/collectibles. And probably other things honestly, this game fills a lot of niches!

Really fun game, honestly it’s a game I come back to every now and then. I really think that the amount of mini-games is nice, although I feel like it could use map customization, but the fact it has so much customization with your own houses/condos and character model is pretty great already, definitely a game I recommend, it’s a must get if on sale if you like social games of sorts. More so if you plan to play this with friends.

Predator: Hunting Grounds

You can have some great fun but game has share of issues. I played a lot and had fun, but don’t imagine that I will be playing it again anytime soon.

Pros: - respect to source material, soundtrack from orignal movie used along with many other features;

  • good customization options;

  • predator designs mostly interesting;

  • predator weapons are very versatile, so you may vary gameplay on the go

Cons: - too much waiting in the lobbies, even though PS players could chip in;

  • gameplay seem to be unbalanced, predator, especially new paid DLC ones are ridiculously OP;

  • game is very demanding graphically, FPS drops to 30-40 even at my relatively high end machine

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Ok, I really like this game, so I am going to write possibly the most serious review about the game. TABG is a battle royal that was made as an April Fools joke, but turned out to be way too good to just drop, so Landfall decided to support it further, and the effort definitely shows.

Every game of TABG starts out with you (and your squad if you play with friends) jumping out of a bunch of semi trucks onto a large and diverse map. You must then loot different spots on the map, and try to be the last man (or squad) standing. During the entire game, the play area will continue to change and shrink like most other battle royales, but there’s a twist. The play area is normally defined by a “zone” in other games, but in TABG the zone is physically closed in on by gigantic floating walls, making it impossible to leave the zone after they close. Be the last one (or squad) standing, and you get that sweet VICOTORY.

I love this game so much I played when this game first released and was free with a few friends and we had a blast. The game is still great but no one plays it anymore. Just make the game free again, solos are no longer a thing and squads are just barely existent. No one wants to pay money for a multiplayer game with no playerbase.

(EDIT)

ITS FINALLY FREE!

Thank you devs. I love this game so much and everything they have done with it. Please get this it is an absolute master piece

Worms Rumble

Worms Rumble

I always wanted to learn how to ninja rope like the pros in Worms 1999. Now there is Worms Rumble, a real time action game with ninja ropes. The jetpack will probably give you a bigger advantage, but that’s ok since ninja roping is way more fun! There were many bugs we came across at the release, but after a week the devs fixed most of them and continue to work hard making the game better. The devs always replied to my concerns and complaints in the forums. There are many complaints about wanting destructible environments, girders, land mines, and other cherished worms related things, but as you can see this is a real time action game and not turn based so I welcome the new changes.

Real player with 292.4 hrs in game

Worms Rumble is an example of how to NOT do a online service. I respect Team 17 and their developers but its very apparent that this is their first attempt for a fully online experience.

This game is fun and I really enjoy it when I get around to playing it but my god is the waiting times a chore. If i’m not waiting 5-10 minutes if i’m lucky with 1/6th of the lobby filled, I’m waiting for the game to boot me out of searching for that match to reset the process.

The games bugs make the game almost unfun to play half the time. Any projectile based weapon like a bazooka or a plasma gun just clip through the map and do no damage. The shield will sometimes lose its collision box and just become a useless piece of junk and a mark on your back. The fact these bugs have been going on since launch its obvious they’re never going to get around to fixing them due to their only interest being cosmetic fluff.

AO Tennis 2

AO Tennis 2

I wanted to like this game, and it has it’s positive points. So while I don’t recommend it, it’s not without some reservations as it does have a few redeeming qualities.

Graphically this game is better than most, if not all others out there. It’s not “next gen” quality, perhaps they need a bigger budget for that, but if tennis and graphics quality are your thing, I doubt you will find a better option.

cut scenes/cinematics, are a nice touch. If you have no patience for these things, you can cut them short and get right back to it. Otherwise bask in the glory of a good game as you sit down and take a drink from your bench on a change over, or stare at your cool shoes as you slow motion walk onto the court.

This review is solely about the gameplay when going against the AI and my experience starting the career mode.

Even at the amateur difficulty level, It’s really hard playing against the AI if you try to play normal tennis as a new player. You can cheese drop shots and chip and charge because the game is broken in that way, but that’s not what I’m looking for. If you just care about winning, then cheesing as I’ve mentioned is the way to go, and you won’t find the game difficult at all. All of the issues I have with the game are about how hard it makes it to play normal tennis.
