Garry’s Mod

2,000 Hours don’t come out of a watch. It comes out of your life. Was the 2k hours worth it? Yes indeed. For a game like gmod to be amazing for such a low price your wondering is it good or bad? Its both 100% depending on the gamemode you play. Do i suggest it? I don’t know does time come out of a watch?

+Rep

1,000 Hours later still finding the game interesting, Ive met wonderful people, bad people, and the ones to love and adore. From my 3k Hours this game is top Notch. Not Notch as in minecraft but, yeah. TOP NOTCH

Garry’s Mod

Is not a game. It is a physics toy and sandbox style tool.

In Gmod, you can reluctantly do whatever you want to. You can: build things such as:

cars, buildings, bunkers, airships , boats , or whatever you can think up.

*Use weapons from other valve games, as well as add-on weapons created by other people.

Play with physics, kill NPCs with literally anything, drive a world of vehicles, paint, destroy stuff, spawn props, spawn ragdolls to pose and beat up, make a machinima for use on YouTube or other video websites, listen to music, and MUCH MUCH more.

Great game with loads of content and mods to keep the game fun. New DLC’s are a big reason why I’m still playing this game after so many years. I wouldn’t recommend buying them for the full price though, they are quite expensive. Just wait for a sale where most of them are 50% off.

If you’re into building stuff from scratch, loved Sim City, and cannot help yourself trying to do something better and more beautiful, buy the game. There’s nothing better. Be prepared to give a healthy chunk of your life, you budding City Planner!

Intuitive design, layered sophistication in game play, and plenty of mods and tools keeps you engaged for hundreds of hours.

I’m a relative amateur with a mere 339 hours of playtime. Just saying.

Enjoy!

Mod and Play

Mod and Play

I was a mod creator of Mod and Play, you see my props and level ports and even a pack of some old models I made in school. What do I think of this game?

Don’t buy it. Garry’s Mod is better, and if you want a next-gen of it then look into Modiverse, which is to be released January 29th. The game aims to be way better than Mod and Play, and the developer is actually skilled in Unreal and is very helpful with modders and gives proper documentation to his SDK which are project files that work in the normal Unreal Engine, so all plugins are supported. The link to their Discord server is right here and I suggest you guys check it out: https://discord.gg/XUSereXTFU

Had very high hopes for the game but it is apparent that the Dev has no care in the world about the community.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY…

The community discord is a load of hopeful gamers asking for the content they paid for only to get shot down by the sad reality that the Dev is highly irresponsible and unprofessional. A few reasons to save your cash.

  • Constant promise of updates for 5 months with nothing to show for it.

  • Developer with poor communication skills and no care for his community.

My take on Con Sim 2015

PROS:

  1. The multiplayer aspect, WHEN(and I can’t stress that enough) you have decent people who aren’t just there to crash into things and wreck your experience, is a LOT of fun. I dig the sense of accomplishment when you and 3 buddies have worked for 2-3 hours on something and finally finish it. Some of the late game jobs can take quite a while from start to finish, which is nice, but can be tedious.

  2. The complexity of some of the machines is quite engrossing IE: the concrete pump; mobile crane; tower crane, just to name a few. The overall detail of the machines is quite decent, this coming from working in the industry and seeing these machines on a daily basis.(To be fair, that’s in Canada, so I’m referring to the North American counterparts; JD; CAT, etc etc.)

TL:DR: This game is good if you like complex machine-driving simulators. Driving controls can be a little shifty in the small vehicles, but are passable in the bigger vehicles - and that’s most of them. Graphics are very good and performance wise the game runs well for a DirectX 9 game, but it does hit the GPU hard (which is normal for DX9 games). For the most part the game will happily run at 60 fps, but in the central city and when it’s saving and loading the performance will drop and when you have multiple projects running it can get rather stuttery.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2015

Car Mechanic Simulator 2015

This game is a wonderful mix of an intro to car components and a D&D dystopia.

Instead of making different parts show that they are worn and broken using a variety of techniques, the game uses only one. RUST.

So imagine we are handed a relatively new car that has some suspension problems. We pop the car on a lift, take a look at the undercarriage, and we find pristine parts, right next to others that look like they’ve been randomly touched by a rust monster. This makes the game into quite the amusing “find the rust” quest.

I learned some part names that I had no idea about before, and got braver on my car DIY skills. And I was also reminded that real life is of course much more complicated than a simulator like this.

Overall, I’m enjoying this simulator, and I only wished that it was more complicated in many aspects. A few points that can be worked on (although I’m just a beginner DIYer, and know much less than creators of this fine game) - hoping that this list will guide people on what to expect and perhaps help prioritizing upcoming changes:

Review Date: Nov 20, 2021

I wrote a giant review, and then after reading through it, realized my opinion was more like no than yes, and when I changed it, Steam erased everything I had written. So, rather than do it again, I’ll just drop some bullet points. I’ve been playing since early in Early Access, so that will color my review.

New overworld trade system is terrible. It’s boring. It’s grindy. and it doesn’t work. I’m at max rep with a faction, and have yet to see the “subversion” mission mentioned in the tutorial.

Real player with 158.5 hrs in game

A decent time killer as-is, but released far too soon for the ambition they sought to achieve.

  • Settlement milestones are sparse and largely uninteresting, with few “make your own goals” opportunities to fill in the blanks. You will pretty much always build the same structures in the same order, and most structures are not actually all that useful.

  • Overworld is shallow and brainless, with pawns moving around for the sake of moving. Factions have no personality or storyline aspects, and the “war” has nothing to make it compelling or interactive. This is actually a bit of a downgrade from the initial concept at the start of Early Access, where there was at least a good vs. evil kind of thing going on.

This game is art. Screw people who downvote this game for having bugs. The bugs just make it more perfect. Also i think someone complained about the building mechanic, but I mean. Its really not bad

Multiplayer-up to create levels to play - gauntlets, races, target landing, platform-hopping. Then compete against each other in the maps you made together. Share them with the world and fart up high!

Bloons TD Battles

Bloons TD Battles

This game used to be good: fast-paced, pleasantly complex, strategy-based, and lots of adorable monkeys. There were some problems: clan bugs, COBRA tower, cheating, and unwillingness of support staff to do anything about the cheating, but overall it was pretty playable. To play at the highest level, or just have maximum fun, a couple minor purchases were helpful but not required, primarily club access for additional arena modes with special rules.

Instead of fixing those problems, Ninja Kiwi introduced “powers” as a way to squeeze money out of existing players. Basically the game went from being focused on strategy and skill to being focused on grinding to unlock the best powers and use those powers to defeat opponents.

I originally began playing this game because a Youtuber I liked would often play this game with his subscribers. I had originally put off downloading the game even though it was free because of numerous negative reviews had made me wary of this game. The main part of this game that I was originally worried about was this game’s version of a premium membership being club access.

Once I began playing the game I realized that although the game is fun it is also tiring in the beginning as you start with a small fraction of the monkeys. Although at times being limited was frustrating looking back I’m glad they did it this way for a few reasons.
