Crazy Ludo

Crazy Ludo

Change based on classic flying chess! There is no end to our flying moves, and players no longer need to worry about getting there first. “Go around behind it and destroy it!” Combat is the core of gameplay and the ultimate victory of the game is achieved through combat.

More to worry about is how to chase down other players' planes and destroy them! Each of our planes has different skills, creating different combat modes and results for them. How to match and use different types of planes is the fun and challenge for players.

Barnard’s Star

Barnard’s Star

In the 25th century, humanity began to travel the stars. Barnard’s Star, a mere 6 light-years away and home to the closest habitable exoplanet, was first to be colonized. However, even with the blindingly fast velocity of half the speed of light, the trip takes 12 Earth years. So when the colonists ran into trouble, they were on their own.

The trouble they faced took two main forms. First, their robot companions who served as butlers and guardians staged a rebellion and broke free of their human masters. It got ugly quickly – blood and bolts covered many a space station floor. The second was the Critters: weird, otherworldly brutes from the other side of the galaxy who arrived on the scene shortly after the colonists from a nearby wormhole. The colonists were able to estalish contact them and even tried to enlist their help against the mechanical threat, but negotiations were cut short when the Critter ambassadors ate all the humans they were supposed to be talking to.

These three factions – Humans, Robots, and Critters – are locked in a vicious struggle for control of the galaxy. Now is the time to rise up, lead your faction, and fight for your life. The fate of the universe is in your hands.

Features

  • 3 factions (Humans, Robots, and Critters) with 7 character classes per faction

  • Each character has unique attacks and abilities

  • 2 maps, each with unique tactical opportunities such as teleporters and destructible cover

  • 3 layouts for each map, for a total of 6 different playable fields

  • Play offline vs. AI or a friend (or even pit two AI’s against each other, if you just want to watch)

  • Challenge friends and strangers with online multiplayer

For a comprehensive list of all the fighters in the game and their abilities, see the wiki .

Escape the Omnochronom!

Escape the Omnochronom!

A mashup of roguelike and MOBA. Specifically: it has the gameplay characteristics of a roguelike (tile and turn based, bump to fight) and the structure of a MOBA - push the lanes out, power up, and go for the Nexus! I mean, big door thingy.

You play [insert intrepid hero]. Currently there are two: Tennor, an indie rocker with a guitar that SHOOTS LASERS, and Winchip, who is from the future, has a robot arm, and apparently “hacked Windows 95”, so presumably he’s 1000 years old. Futurey! Tennor is available from the start, with Winchip available when you have enough gems. Gems are earned by playing matches - no F2P here.

I initially recommend this game with the caveat that it had several issues and the expectation that it would spend a significant amount of time (years I assumed) in Early Access.

Escape the Omnochronom! released out of Early Access 3 months later, had a couple small post release patches, and that was it. Four months later it hasn’t been touched. There’s also some complaints by other players that a nicer looking UI was dropped for a more basic one and that appears to be true, yet the screenshots still reflect the nicer UI.

Dogs of War Online

Dogs of War Online

Dogs of War Online is a fast paced turn based strategy game heavily influenced by the table top game Confrontation. It puts the player in the role of a mercenary leader, who can have multiple bands of mercenaries at his command. The game is currently in beta and at this stage offers little in the way of single player. There are 3 tutorial missions and training versus bots but then it is into the lobbies to test your skills and mercenaries against other players.

I have never played the table-top game but have spent many hours playing similar games. The mechanics or ‘rules’ of this game are very solid and make for a more realistic and exciting game than any other I have played on computer, the kitchen table or elsewhere.

EDIT May 30/2015: Unfortunately, it seems the population has bottomed out, and the developers have abandoned the game.

Very strategy-rich game, has lots of potential. Units have their own skill/spell tree, different combat interactions like parrying counterattacks dodging riposte, many atrributes and active or passive effects you have to all take into account throughout battle. Lots more classes/units planned as far as I saw on their wiki. Recommend to turn-based/strategy fans. It is not pay-to-win, since you get matched based on your army level - have a stronger army, then you face stronger armies. Don’t have many criticisms, its already pretty complex and its only in closed beta stage.

Heroes of Zaruban

Heroes of Zaruban

This is an adaptation of a board game for two players.

The game takes place on one playing field. In turn with the enemy, you make moves with your cards or use objects. To win the game, you need to destroy the main card (Place of Power) of the enemy. There are no pre-prepared decks here - all cards and items are selected in turn from the general list. Already at the stage of choosing and placing cards, you can get a significant advantage over the enemy by blocking or taking the cards he needs.

All cards in the game (Heroes and Places of Power) have basic characteristics (attack, defense, health) and 2-3 unique skills. Items play a supporting role. They can both enhance the basic parameters of your cards, and inflict direct damage to enemy cards.

For a comfortable game, it is better to start playing with a friend, gradually learning the abilities of different cards and objects, their strengths and weaknesses. There are currently 35 Hero cards in the game, 6 Power Place cards and about 50 items.

If you are looking for a new and fun deck building card game that is not ‘pay2win’ this will keep you entertained with several different Hero’s that have varied abilities and card pools.

All the joy o a CCG without the microtransactions, the rules are pretty intuitive and if your familiar with hearthstone and shadowverse youll catch on extremely quick, translation can be a bit wonky but once you understand what means what its easy.

PRO tip if you buy it your 1st run click the gear in the top right, from there you can change language to english

Another issue I found is if your trying to use the chatbox or add a friend ID be in windowed mode as the virtual keyboard will not work in full screen infact it can crash your game
